The incessant beep was too much. Audri could sleep no longer. She sat up, threw back her covers, and dashed across the room. The pestering sound of her alarm clock quickly grew louder before she brought her hand down over the snooze button, her unnecessary force sending chunks of it flying threw the room. She sighed. That was five this month.
She shook her head slightly, the long tresses of her hair gently whipping at her face. Her arms stretched over her head as she walked to the full length mirror hanging in her bathroom. Boy, was she ever a sight. Her lips were stained with died, cracking blood from last nights feed and shorter lengths of her hair were sticking up in all directions. She laughed at herself; She knew better than not to wash after a kill.
Leaning around the door frame, she took a quick glance out the window. The sun had just begun to set. Perfect, she thought with a smile. She had just enough time to get ready. Quickly, she turned on her shower, peeling off the remnants of last nights outfit. Once the steam poured from the shower, she pulled away the curtain and stepped in.
She relished the feeling of the warm water pouring over her chilled skin. It was sheer bliss for her. She knew she could stand in a shower for the rest of eternity...if the dump she lived in had a better water heater. Slowly, she combed her long fingers through her chestnut hair, carefully undoing the sleepy mess on her head. She made sure to remove what was left of her make up before turning the knob and stepping out of her shower.
She sighed as she wrapped a towel tightly around her body, leaning slightly so the water from her hair could drip on to the tile. She wrapped both hands around her hair and, hand over hand, squeezed out the excess water. She straightened up and stood in front of the mirror, reaching for a comb nearby. She started making slow, long strokes through her hair, allowing her mind to wander a bit as she played with her hair. She worked the comb through her hair to make a part just over her left eye before she shook her head quickly and set the comb down. She walked out of the bathroom and grabbed an envelope on the counter, taping it to her front door; Tonight was her delivery night. Every Wednesday, someone from the blood bank left her a box of three hundred blood packs. They took the money from the front of her door and left. No questions asked. She thought it was quite the arrangement.
She shut and lock the door to the apartment, deciding tonight the window would be her escape method. she crouched down next to her bed, pulling the box from underneath it. She rummaged through it, eventually setting on her usual attire: Dark jeans, this pair beginning to fade with age, a black tank top that showed off enough, but still left most to the imagination, and a waist-length black knit jacket that tied snuggly around her.
Once dressed, Audri walked to where her shoes should have been. She rolled her eyes; She had such a terrible habit for misplacing essential items. After tearing through her apartment for a good fifteen minutes, she found her shoes in her kitchen; A kitchen that had never been cooked it. She smiled at the thought as she crossed the room, dropping on the edge of her bed as she tied up the ragged black converse.
She stood up, pulling her jacket tight around her as she crawled out her window and on to the fire escape. It was a perfect night; Stars were showing and the moon was gorgeous. She knew, however, this view wouldn't last once she made it into the city. Being on the third floor, and a vampire above that, made her fear of heights virtually nonexistent. Without a moment's hesitation, her fingers curled around the bar to the steel fence around the ledge as she jumped over, hanging in the air for a moment before dropping to the ground. She landed with a soft thud, only stumbling slightly. She straightened up, tugging her jacket down as she walked out of the alley.
Audri loved her life as a vampire. She'd come to resent it at first, but after realizing that this was a chance for her to have an eternal second chance, she came to terms with her blessed curse. And in New York City, she knew a lot of people didn't pay that close of attention. But she still loved the simplicity of a human life. So, as she stepped on to the sidewalk, she extended her right arm out toward the street as her voice rang out, "Taxi!" A small yellow car screeched to a stop in front of her. She smiled softly to herself as she opened the door and slid inside. The air in the car was warm, almost matching the conditions outside. She gave the driver her directions as he sped off.
Ten minutes later, the car had stopped in front of a small club. The pulsating beat could be heard from inside the car. "Fifteen twenty seven, ma'am" the driver said in a thick Brooklyn accent. She slid a twenty into his hand as she rose from the car and slammed the door. No one was outside; She took advantage of this situation. In a flash, she was standing at the door. She cranked it open quickly, walking into the musty, smoke filled room. She plopped herself on a couch a few yards from the door, glancing around slowly. Her breath caught in her throat as the stranger across the room caught her eye.

The stranger smiled at her. He was strong and muscular. He flexed his musels. He was amused by how the woman had left the taxi, he was amused at how she looked at him. He was amused that she was a vampire. He found vampires amazingly powerful, and quite interesting to watch. He of course wanted to be one...But a werewolf had hit him first.
Justin smiled at her. He was on a couch across the room from her. He didnt know what to do get up and go say hello? Go back into the actualy club and see if she followed? No. Those options didnt seem apropriate. Justin looked back at the newspaper in his hand. He 'read' the last page. He thought about how much he wanted to speak to her, and how he would do it.
Justin glanced at the seat beside him, it was empty of course. They were the only people in the small smoke filled room. He glanced back at her a crooked smile danced on his lips. He smiled and motioned with his head for her to sit beside him. If she didnt come he would either leave, or go back into the club. He could hear the loud blasts of music, and people screaming and he realized why he had come into this room. If she didnt come he would leave.
Justin put the newspaper down on the small table next to him. Then he smiled at her and stared out the window. Waiting to see if she would come over to him.

Audri watched as his head subtly tilted toward the empty seat next to him. She did a quick take around the room. So he was motioning for her. She came for prey, and there it possibly sat. And it was dumb enough to offer itself to her.
Tonight she felt rather chasey, and she didn't care which person did the chasing. But she wasn't letting anything get away that easily. She stood slowly, her left hand brushing her hair over her shoulder. Quietly, she crossed the room, putting just feet between them. She smiled, the closer she got the more excited she became. She walked straight past him. As she did, her hand gently hit his chest, slowly pulling over his shoulder and away as she crossed to the door leading deeper inside the club.
Something wasn't right about this one. She could feel it. Something familiar lingered in his scent. Something she hadn't picked up in nearly a year since she became more self dependent. She turned back to glance at him as she went through the door. Then it hit her. She stopped mid step as the door closed behind her. He....was a werewolf?
She glanced around frantically. He was purely after her because he had caught her scent first. She quickly dashed into the mob scene in the middle of the room, hiding inside a vast wave of bodies. Surely, with a mixed scent, she'd be a bit harder to find. She just hoped this idea actually worked.

Justin smiled at her as she started to cross the room. This strange woman, was the most beauiful thing he had ever seen. And now she was walking towards him. His heart pounded, a sweat bead ran down his face. Why was he so nervous? He had talked to woman before...He had been with woman before...And this was just another woman to play with. Nothing serious...But if thats how Justin felt...Then why was he panicking?
As the woman came closer, he noticed her path change. And she turned to the club, as her cold fingers touched his chest, he watched her walk into the club, What a tease He thought as she disappeared. But before she vanished, He breathed in her warm scent. When she was out of the room. He gasped. He was drawn to a vampire. Sure he had vampire friends like, Juliet and some others...But he wasnt attracked to Juliet in any way. He scowled at himself for being so stupid.
Justin jumped up and headed for the door, he needed to get out of there. To breath in fresh air. To go meet some people, go to a bar, get drunk. Something to get his mind off of this. But as he walked towards the door, he walked into the path of her scent. Where she had just walked. She smelt so beautiful. So alluring. So...Justin gasped for air. He couldnt breath it anymore. Justin sighed, in the long run, he would probably regret this. But there were witnesses, he couldnt hurt her in the club. And she couldnt hurt him. He walked into the club and searched. He followed her scent. Right into a clump of people.
Justin looked for her face, he didnt spot it. But he smelt her, so strong, so firce. He smiled when he saw her. He grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the clump. Over to a darker, quieter corner. He smiled at her. "Why'd you run off?" He asked her, "I'm Justin...Whats your name beautiful?"

Audri smiled slightly as she let her thoughts settle. She was safe, no need to worry anymore. She spun a circle as her eyes scanned the room. Before she had time to react to anything, her arm was being pulled on, the rest of her body following suit as she was drug from the crowd.
"Who the hell are you!?" she yelled as she left the tight-knit circle of dancing humans. "What do you want from me?!" she shrieked as she jerked her arm free, face to face with the werewolf she'd just left in the other room. She shuddered, her breath slowly stopping in her throat.
"Why'd you run off? I'm Justin...Whats your name beautiful?"
Audri's feet felt firmly planted to the ground. Had he not realized who she was? What she was? Her tongue felt like it was swelling; Her brain had forgotten how to function. She would admit, he was attractive, but he was a wolf. She had no disrespect for the wolves, but it was unheard of that they would respect her kind. Well, she'd never been familiar with it at least.
She swallowed hard. "A-Audri," she muttered, her eyes cast at the floor. Better take this outside, she thought as her teeth clamped down on her lip. What could this dog want from her?

Justin smiled. "Pretty name." He said. Justin was happy she was at least talking to him. She was beautiful, and he thought that she would have tried to kill him already. Seeing as she was a vampire. Justin laughed as she seemed so uncomfortable. Why would she be uncomfortable? Not like he was going to do anything to her. He wasnt a crazy rapist dog, or shit like that.
Justin tilted his head to the side, "Dont worry. I wont hurt you..." He said grinning. "and dont pretend for me. I can smell out what you are. From miles away." He said plugging his nose, as a joke. Justin hoped she wouldnt run off until he could get talking to her again. Or until she told him why she was trying to avoid him.
I hope she understands that I wouldnt do anything to harm...But only cause shes a woman...Even if she is a bloody vampire, I have to remeber my manners. Justin smiled, what could he tell her that would make her clam down? He didnt know what to do. He was always just so good with woman, but they were always werewolves. Never had he tried to flirt with a vampire. "So...What are you doing in a shity place like this?"

Her mood quickly jerked a gear when he joked of her race. She may not approve of this spat vampires and werewolves had, but that didn't change that she was part of it.
"I happen to like it here, thank you," she spat back at his question. She always came here. Free hunting range.
Her stance turned a bit more defensive. She couldn't tell what games he was trying to play. And if she could help it, she wouldn't stick around for her own death. She knew that somewhere, someday, something would get her. Tonight wouldn't be that night.

Justin was taken by surprise as she snapped at him. "I like it here too. I just thought a woman of your class wouldnt come to a club like this." He growled back. He didnt need to talk to her, he didnt need to be here. He was going to leave. He could attack her right now, face the erge that was eating away at him. Bite her, kill her. Lots of things that she could defend and most likly defeat him with. Even if he did try to fight her, it went against his morals to hurt a woman. No matter what the race is.
Justin smirked, "You dont need to get all defense. I'm not going to hurt a woman." He said, he noticed how she got tense. He sighed. "I'm sorry, I was just trying to have a friendly conversation. I meant no harm...But if you think that your 'to good' for a werewolf, then I'll just go." He turned to leave, no question's asked. He didnt care who was watching him. He didnt care about what she would do. He just knew he needed air, and fast.
Justin kept walking. He went through a crowd of drunken men. He pushed a few over they fell on the ground. He didnt care if that started a fight. A few guys tried to take him, but he pushed them off too. Because being the wolf that he was, he stronger and faster than and mortal. He walked straight to the bar tender. He shot a glance back at Audri, a smirk played on his lips.
"What'll you have sir?" Justin paid no attention to the bar tender. But the words ran clear. Justin sighed, he wanted to get drunk. Get wasted. Do something he hadnt ever done. Justin looked at the bar tender. "I'll have a Tequila, with a splash of Vodka." The bar tender nodded and went straight into mixing the drink. Justin turned back to stare at Audri. But his gaze quickly changed to a group of girls who were staring and giggling.

He misjudged her. It was rather amusing. A vampire usually lacked class, and she knew she did. She lived in a ratty apartment and would wear nothing but jeans. Where the hell does someone find class in that?
"Good riddance," she snarled under her breath, turning to walk the opposite direction. The last thing she needed was a fight, and she was heading there. She couldn't stand her race being mocked. And that mutt had pushed her quickly.
She made a path longer than necessary to leave the club, meandering around the group and up the other side to get to the door. She stopped at the door, feeling eyes on her back. She cast a glare back. Damn him, she thought when she saw who was staring. She pushed the door open, harder than intended, and stormed out into the smoke filled entrance. Before she cared to think about it, she was running home.
She flew through the window, storming into her apartment and pushing things off the counters. This was an outrage! She went out for fun, and now she had to risk a hunt. Fucking wonderful.
She gave herself ten minutes of destruction before she calmed down, taking a deep breath. She pulled off her shoes, chucking them at the wall before sliding out of her jeans. She knew the sun still had hours before it rose, but she was tired of being awake. She crawled under her blankets, snuggling into them. She sighed as the warmth quickly surrounded her, and she succumbed to sleep.
Mid-morning, she awoke with a start, staring at her ceiling. Her teeth were ground tightly together as she sat up, glancing around her apartment fully. She lay back down, growling, 'Damn that dog, and his puppy-love."
