Jace grinned at Autumn as she winked, so she raced cars, well that was something most interesting. "How long did you race for?" He asked curious.
Jace waited intently for her directions, as she gave them he read the signs as they weeved in and out of lanes. He found the one for Venice blvd and cut some man in an SUV off before getting on to the off ramp. What was recommended as a speed was a little off what Jace was dangerously driving... about 50 over that. He slowed for the yeild sign as the traffic was busier than he had expected.
He looked in his rearview as some guy honked. "Idiot," Jace muttered, he couldn't get out due to traffic, as dangerous of a driver he was he was smart, he was good at it, his talent. He wouldn't go out knowing he would crash. The man honked again and Jace rolled down his window and flipped the guy off before bringing his arm back in and putting the window up, "I hate stupid drivers," Finally he was free to merge into the busy traffic swirving in dangerously leaving the man behind.
He was glad to hear it was only a little after midnight, it was a comforting thought as he knew they were in sunny California. Perhaps not the best place for a Vampire, but nights were just as dark as any other city. "And if we did race, what would you be driving?" He questioned a little curious about what car she drove. He switched gears before placing his hand down on Autumn's holding it lightly reminding himself she was human.

The question Jace had thrown at her made her think for a moment. She bit down gently on the inside of her cheek as she silently counted the amount of years since it was since she had left Japan. "I started racing the day I got my license so... Seven years?" for a moment she had forgotten her own age.
She let out a low giggle as she noticed his slight road rage. He was just as bad as she was, even as shy as she was. "I hate stupid drivers too.. They seem to be everywhere." She gestured for him to turn right and then a left. "There's the apartments. There's an underground garage you can park in."
"And if we did race, what would you be driving?"
The question amused Autumn. The cars she had raced were left behind with her uncle in Japan and she didn't bother buying a car when she moved to the States since she knew she would be traveling a lot. If she wanted, any or all of the cars could be sent to her. "Depends what kind of racing we're doing." she threw at him with a smug grin on her face.

Jace nodded as she spoke, seven years, that was quite a while, then again, he'd been at it longer. Hotwiring cars at fourteen, racing them at fifteen, at least he had his own car at seventeen and started racing it. Fourteen years, fifteen till now. And once being a vampire you didn't have to worry about you anymore. Just the car taking damage and if if your good, it won't happen.
He smirked at her comment, "smart-ass, typical street race, drag race whatever, pick your favorite racing car. Everyone has one." He liked Mustangs, they were nicely made handled well and were speedy as hell. A good car to have with out going up five price brackets. Besides it was pretty easy to find parts for Mustangs.
He followed her directions and ended up in the underground parking garage he e-braked into a spot perfectly, he'd practiced that a lot when he was younger. He turned off the engine and unlocked his seatbelt before turning to her, and kissing her softly, "thank you," he murmered quite happy with the gift. Actually happy didn't cover it, estatic was probably closer.

Autumn lifted her shoulders a bit in a shrug. Unlike him, she liked import cars over American made muscle cars, of course, since she grew up in Japan. "My favorite would have to be my Skyline R34." she decided. It was one of the first cars she had started working on when she was a teenager.
She scoffed under her breath as he slid into a parking spot then joked, "is that all you got?" She undid her seat belt as he did. Taken by surprise, she blushed as he kissed her then nodded. "You're welcome. I'm really glad you like it." She placed another gentle kiss on his lips then poked at his side before getting out of the car.
She was somewhat excited to show him her apartment but was worried, not remembering if it was a mess or not. Stretching her arms over her head, she waited patiently for him to open the trunk so that they could grab their belongings and head back upstairs.

Jacegrinned at the blush of her cheeks and just shook his head with a grin as she joked about his driving. He grabbed the keys and unlocked the trunk pulling up the tab on his left side before he exited the vehicle, streching out he headed to the back and opened the lid before grabbing his bag and hers leaving the violin case she'd been carrying the entire time.
He stood there looking around the parking garage, it was filled with pretty nice cars. Expensive ones, he was starting to get an impression of what the inside might just be like. Awkwardly standing as he waited for Autumn to grab the case before he shut the lid.
Shifting his weight from one side to another he looked around for the stairs, or elevator or however hell to get into the place. The garage itself was pretty big, he wondered vaguely if he had parked in someones spot... that would be lovely.

She made her way around the car and took the violin case before he shut the trunk. She took one of his hands into her free one and made her way towards the elevator. She frowned slightly, looking back at him. "Sorry darling but I live on the top floor and I'm not ready to walk up eight flights of stairs." Not that she was out of shape or anything but she was jet-lagged and a bit tired. As they reached the elevator she pressed the up button, watching as it lit up. The doors slid open and she was somewhat glad they didn't have to stand there and wait until the elevator came all the way down. She squeezed his hand lightly, trying to reassure him that they would be alright. "Don't worry, everything is pretty new in this building so the elevators are always working and stuff." The elevator was faster than most others and before they knew it, they were at the eighth floor. Before exiting the elevator she reached into the front pocket of her suitcase to grab her keys then walked out. She walked down the hall a bit before stopping at her apartment door and unlocked it. It felt good to finally be home. As she walked in she flipped on the lights and revealed her home to him. It was actually a studio instead of an actual apartment. "Here we are." ~~Floor plan~~ The place was decorated simply and more modern if anything. In her kitchen there was a small table with only two chairs and in her living room there was one couch that pulled out into a bed, a flat screen tv mounted on the wall and her piano which sat near the entrance to the balcony. In the bedroom area she had a queen size bed and a small nightstand on one side and a dresser on the other.

Jace didn't want to say anything back about the entire elevator thing. He wasn't bad when he was alone. If it plummeted, he'd leave with out a scratch. With Autumn though if the cord snapped... well she probably wouldn't make it out scotfree. She was the only thing he was worried about, the root of the fear. He listened as the mechanics of it worked they sounded pretty smooth, new like Autumn said. The doors came open after a quick trip he stepped out happy to be out of the metal death trap.
He watched as Autumn opened the door and he got his first look into her apartment. He stepped in behind her taking a good look around, it was nearly the size of the family home he'd grown up in. He was a little stunned by it simple but elegant design. He shifted the dufflebag since it was starting to slide off of his shoulder as he took off his shoes.
"Nice place," he commented, he had expected it to be nice, but this was even above what he had pictured. The girl had a private jet, of course she would have nice living quarters. He tried to take it all in, the scent, the design of different items, memorizing distances between things, he was pretty good at that last one, he didn't have to have night vision, he was pretty good at just remembering where things were.

She kicked her Converse shoes off and made her way over to her bed motioning for him to follow. She set her violin case by the large window which sat next to her dresser. She pulled the long, maroon colored curtains over the large window knowing that it would be a bad idea having them open when the sun came up.
"Nice place."
She turned to him and smiled then went to take her suitcase from him to unpack her things. "Thanks. I think it's too big for just one person though. Gets lonely quick." It was a bit odd having someone in her apartment with her. She'd never had people over other than her uncle who would visit her once in awhile.
Tossing her suitcase onto the bed she unzipped it and pulled her clothes out. Holding up a pair of jeans she looked back at him then gestured for him to put his bag down. "Do you want me to wash any of your clothes?" She shook her pair of jeans off a bit and let it fall onto the wooden floor. "If you want we can go out and ea-" her voice cut off suddenly remembering that he didn't eat human food.

Jace followed Autumn as she motioned for him to, he looked around as he did so easily following with out looking since he could hear her footsteps, her heartbeat, her scent also lead the way, he could have done it eyes closed. Her bedroom was just as nice, he set down her suitcase and held his dufflebag.
Jace smiled a little, "lonely, this is California! How could a girl like you become lonely in a place like this?" He couldn't believe it, the only logical reason was that work got in her way. Still someone as smart, funny, beautiful and just all around great person should not be alone. It wasn't the way the world worked.
"Uh.." since Jace didn't know where the nearest coin laundry was his typical answer of no turned into, "yes, please." As she guestured for him to put down his bag he did and unzipped it, clothing was stuffed in there, he was wearing the last clean outfit. On top thought was some of his only belongings, a deck of cards missing a few. A few family pictures which he paused at and smiled as he held one in his hand, "hey check this out," he said turning it to face her, it was the last picture he and Kace had with his grandmother. He was starting to turn away as Kacey was throwing a wild punch, and their grandmother was sitting on the couch looking at them with amusment ringing in her eyes, "told you my sisters a nut!" Then again they hadn't been that old in the picture he might have been thirteen.

Autumn's smile twisted into a slight frown as he wondered how she was lonely. "I'm pretty shy so I don't really go out and talk to people." she admitted. She set all her dirty clothes into a pile on the floor then watched as he went through his bag. I should take him shopping she thought to herself as a smile crossed her face again.
As he held up the picture she took it and examined it. Her smile broadened and she let out a giggle. "Cute picture. Look how adorable you are!" she pointed at his funny expression in the picture. She handed him the picture then collected his clothes along with hers and made her way to the small laundry room which was a little way away from her bedroom. She kicked open the door and loaded his clothes into the washer first.
"So what did you want to do tonight?" she shouted from the laundry room, pouring detergent into the washer. She messed around with the knobs above the large machine, putting everything at the appropriate settings. When she finished she walked back out then walked up behind him, wrapping her arms around his stomach, pulling him closer to her.

Jace shrugged, "I don't see why not," being a naturally outgoing person, Jace always had difficulties understanding shyness, then again shy people didn't understand him. "Your funny, intelligent, easy-going, I guess I'm just a little suprised... I must be pretty lucky then if you're talkin' to me."
He turned the picture back around at her comment and studdied it for a moment, he'd had longer hair then, he'd been pretty short then, Kace at the time had been the same height as him. Once he hit sixteen though he hit a growth spurt that didn't stop till he was eighteen. Finally being taller than his sister by a good few inches. Still in the picture he was having fun, he couldn't help but miss the only family he had left. He put the picture away shoving it to the bottom of the bag like he was pushing away the memory.
He heard her call from the laundry room and he would have been able to hear her if she'd whispered in the quiet home. He shrugged but realized she couldn't hear him so replied with, "I don't know, I'm not exsacly familiar with this place," he responded. "You got anything in mind?" Jace had been looking around the room not paying much attention so he didn't hear her light footsteps when she came up behind him. He nearly jumped but stayed put, he could feel her warmth on his back, he held her hands to his stomach, so warm. He grinned and looked over his shoulder at her.

As his eyes fell on her she smiled up at him with a light shrug. Autumn wasn't the type to go out much and when she did it was only to go to the store or the library for random books to read. She hated being so shy but hoped Jace would help bring her guard down eventually.
"We can go to the beach." she suggested. Even though it wasn't exciting as going to a club or a bar, Autumn loved going to the beach especially at night. It was where she went to think or compose her own music on her violin. "We can walk there, it's not too far." She reluctantly pulled away from him and walked over to her closet to grab a beach towel they could sit on.
She jumped up, reaching for a towel that was shoved on the top shelf in her closet. She wondered how the hell she got it up there in the first place. "I know it doesn't sound exciting." She gritted her teeth, frustrated about not being able to get the towel. "But it's relaxing. The beach I mean."

Jace was quite calm, content even with Autumn's arms wrapped around him. He got a little worried when he did the same, not always remembering humans were a lot more fragile now that he was a lot stronger. He didn't want harm to come to those he cared about, it was part of the reason he was here now. Away from his family to keep...well Kace safe since she was the only family left. Still he felt a little bit better being here with Autumn, he'd hugged her, even bit her and she was still here, accepting and kind, unharmed. Maybe he could go and visit his sister now.
He grinned as she mentioned the beach. That sounded nice, quiet which right about now after jet leg and road rage he didn't think he could take somewhere chaotic and noisy. The beach sounded like a good fit, besides his mind was already thinking of Autumn in a bathingsuit. Jace felt her hands slide off of him and he kind of just wished to continue staying there, just like that. Still she did sound a little excited for the beach, "it sounds nice," he agreed after a few seconds.
He grinned as she started jumping her hand extended apparently trying to get the towel at the top. "It sounds like fun, excitment isn't everything," he said, he'd had enough excitment for today, more than enough, anymore his mind would explode. Finally with a little laugh he gave in and came up behind her pressing against her as he reached over her grabbing the towel with ease, and he just had to ask, "how the heck did you get it up there anyways?"

Blood rushed to her cheeks as he walked up behind her and reached for the towel. She bit her bottom lip as she smiled, looking up towards the shelf the towel had be resting on. She had no idea how she even got it there in the first place. She didn't have a ladder or step stool to help so she couldn't use that excuse. She simply shrugged. "Good question."
She spun on her heel and looked up at him, gently taking the towel from his hands. "Thank you." she stood on her toes and placed a kiss on the bottom of his chin. For the first time she realized how much taller he really was than her. Not that it bothered her any. She found it sexy.
"Do you have swimming trunks or anything?" she turned back around and grabbed a cute white bikini set which had black floral designs here and there. She placed another kiss on his chin as she held up her swimwear.

Jace found it rather amusing a girl that small could get a towel all the way up there... she either had to have stood on a chair or threw it up there from his point of view anyways. Being so close to her he couldn't help but notice her wonderful scent, nor could he ignore her pulsing heartbeat that made the more monsterous side of him want out.
He took a step back before handing the towel over to her. Getting his distance and his mind back in its proper place. "You're welcome," he responded, finding her kiss rather humourous... she really was a tiny thing, adorable. Still he found himself rather comfortable even though he was with a human, and that was a first in a long while.
"Swimming trunks?" He looked to the tiny duffle bag, he knew the contents well, three of everything, shirts, pants, boxers, and pairs of socks. That was it for clothing, no extra's, they weren't needed. He couldn't even think of the last time he'd gone swimming, in his mind it was still a hot summer day thing, sun shining down, the refreshing cool water. Thinking on it now he realized he hadn't been swimming since he was alive, "Nope," he responded finally, "there a lot of night people on this beach?" he wondered allowed, wasn't like he was shy or anything.
He noticed she had found her bathing suit, a cute little floral design on it. He couldn't wait to see her in it, a little grin plastered on his face. Another kiss and she held the swimwear up, "very nice."
