Mahiro took a garteful gulp of water, and sloshed it all down as quickly as she could. It felt amazing to have it trickling down her clammy throat. It could'nt have felt better. Water had never tasted so good in the 15 and a half years she had been alive. She could barely hear the wolf and Shaden arguing behind her.
"Uum, Person." She asked, "Person who just rescued me, Could I know your name? Because It might not look it as I am just being protected and stuff, but I actually really appreiciate this. And Shdem, this is from Padua!" She reached out and punched Shaden in the jaw. She did'nt know if a punch like that would hurt a bloodsucker like him but right now she did'nt really care. She had punched him. That was important.
She stood up, and began to hobble over to the next tree. "Come on person." she said. "I wanna get outta here." She had nearly got there when her lowsy legs buckled underneath her own weight. She hoisted herself up and held onto the tree as she waited for 'person' to come to.

Shaden was only slightly shocked by Amarants actions by grabbing his wrist, he pulled it back, and let a low hiss escape past his lips. "Do not underestimate me, cupcake, I promise you've never fought anyone like me. I've been in more fight then you can even think of. And this girl doesn't concern you." His breathing was heavy, his anger clawing at his chest trying to rip its way out.
Then he looked back at Mahiro, who seemed to be trying to play stupid, it was kinda cute "Come now, lovely, were not going to play that game." He was about to reach out and touch her again, but with a glance over at Amarant he thought better of it.
He was still trying to control himself, and it wasn't easy. Shaden looked back at Amarant "I'll say this one last time, leave now, and I won't have to kill you." Then watched Mahiro once more, waiting for an answer from Amarant "Stupid dogs." He said under his breath, but not caring in the least if either of them heard him.
Then out of no where she punched him! She really hit him in the jaw. Shock was clear on his face, even as Mahiro stood up and started walking off, although she didn't get far. Shaden walked over to her and grabbed her wrist "Oh know your coming with me."

Mahiro felt Shaden tug her arm. It was sharp and hard. "Ow!" she screamed. Her arm could have been wrendhed out of it's socket. Thankfully it was'nt. He tugged harder, and she felt herself being dragged across the floor. She did the only thing she could do. In her postion, her legs were on the floor, and her arms where not being helpful either. She reached down and bit his arm. It was'nt that hard, but being a wolf had it's advantages, canine teeth for one. As he let go for a second, Mahiro noticied something out of the corner of her eye.
It was something beautiful and the best thing she could have hoped for. It was the sunrise.

Shaden laughed, it was a cruel, harsh laugh. That is course until he felt her bite his arm, he screamed and let go at once "Son of a-"But he looked at Mahiro and saw that she was looking at something other then him, so he turned his head and now showed signs of a little fear. Shaden had had no clue it was so late. He looked back at Mahiro and smiled at her one last time "I'll be seeing you, sweetheart." Then he was gone, and running through the trees back to someplace safe. He ran as fast as he could until he was finally inside one of his homes.

Mahiro smiled and sank back down into the grass. The fire brigade had come, and the worst of the flames where dieing out. It was easily controlled, which is rare for a forest fire, but still possible. She Pulled Padua's lighter back out of her pocket and examined it. Not a scracth. It was in perfect condition. She lit it, and played with the tiny tame flmae that flew threw her fingers. She then put it back in her pocket and crawled over to her rescuer. She lay down on the wet grass and fell asleep.

(Sorry you guys, had to go to work, and didnt get home till late)
Amarant simply raised an eyebrow at him, her lips qwirking up in a half smile, taunting him. "You really think that I'll be scared off by some paracidic leech like you? I know you're an ancient, so was my adoptive father. And I could best him. Only a few times in my life did I beat him, but I did. And I won't have much trouble with you."
When he walked over and grabbed Mahiro, Amarant lost her control, shifting into a large black wolf, snarling. When she was about ready to leap at him, to rip his arm off for touching the girl when she'd plainly said for him to back off her, Amarant noticed that Mahiro was looking to the East...Amarant's black wolf head turned towards that direction, and a wolfish grin showed. Almost smuggly.
The vampires one main, true weakness, the one way that we were far better than them: the sun was coming up. She barked with laughter at the look on his face, enjoying every second of it. When he ran off, she shifted back into her other form, somewhat reluctantly, and looked at Mahiro, who was crawling towards her.
"Sorry I didn't introduce myself, little one. My name is Amarant, but some of my friends call me Amar, if you would rather call me that." When she came and layed beside Amarant, she smiled, petting the younger wolf's hair as the Mahiro fell asleep. Amarant would stay awake and watch her until she woke. Though Amarant knew good and well that Shaden couldn't come for her during the day, she wasn't going to take any chances. She could already feel a sort of...closeness with this girl. Amarant wasn't used to it, but she would deal with it in the best way that she knew how. This girl would be under her protection now, and no one was going to touch her. If that ment a fight with Shaden, then so be it.

(That's cool, I was away yesterday anyway. )
After what must have been hours, Mahiro woke up under the blinding sun. It shocked her how bright it was, but only for a second. She yawned twice and sat up.
"Hi Amarant." She called. She had caught the wolf's name last night as she was falling asleep. Now however, she felt full of beans and was ready to go. She got up to strech her legs, and walked around in circles round a tree. She then sat down again and strechted her arms round her head, and shook out her multi-coloured hair.
"I need to go back to the hotel and fetch my guitar." She called to Amarant. "You can come too if you like, but then I say we go get breakfast. I don't know about you, but I'm absoloutly starving. I could eat a tree, well, if it was'nt made of bark, but you know what I mean." She flashed Amarant a Grin, and waited for her to reply. It had been ages since she had someone to look up to, but still be a great friend, and she secretly hoped that Amarant might be that person. It would'nt be replacing Padua, but It would be amazing for her to be happy again and not have to worry about Him anymore.

Amarant had sat up all night, which wasn't something that she wasn't used to. She would often stay up all night and then for several hours into the next day, and still not need sleep. When the Mahiro had finally woken, Amarant had been back towards where the fight had let loose...Not that it was technically much of a fight, since the sun interrupted it. Amarant could tell that Mahiro was frightened of Shaden, but she didn't know why...But she intended to find out.
She smiled at Mahiro, walking over towards her. She raised an eyebrow slightly when Mahiro mentioned that she played guitar, and she wondered if the girl was any good. The hotel part troubled her, though. "You're staying in a hotel?" Amarant didn't like hotels, she thought they were dirty, disgusting, and far too easy to break into. Amarant concidered offering for the girl ot stay with her in her apartment, there was afterall, more than enough room.
She nodded, smiling slightly, flashing her white teeth. "I think we could both eat a deer, to be more correct, concidering out species." Amarant said, laughing. "I'll go to breakfast, but on one condition: I pay." She said, a small half smile quirking up her lips.

Mahiro smiled. Amarant was clearly a very nice person, having stayed up all night, well day, to see if she was alright. On top of that, she was offering to pay for breakfast. If you pay for other people's breakfast, then you had to be a nice person.
"That's cool with me" Mahiro replied. She flicked a strand of black hair out of her eyes, and looked up at Amarant again.
"I don't actually have much money with me anyway. I kinda spent a lot on the hotel room. I'll go hunting for a new one tonight, I keep thinking the roof is gonna fall in..." She stopped when she realised she was ranting. Ranting was easy to do, and unfortunatly something that Mahiro happened to be extra good at.
"Well lets go then. The breakfast places don't stay open forever you know!" She smiled and pulled herself and Amarant off the grass, before setting off.

Amarant laughed, rolling her eyes slightly as the energetic pup pulled her away, off towards town so that they could get something to eat. She made sure that she had her wallet still in her back pocket, before running beside her.
"Race ya, pup." She said, starting off at a quick jog, giving Mahiro time to catch up so that she wouldn't be cheating. Amarant loved to run, and it was just what she needed to take off the stress from everything that had been going on ealier that night.
Amarnat would definately ask her about moving in with her and Saphire in her apartment. The girl would be rent free, so long as her pytotechnics didn't endanger her house. She ddn't like to see people living out of hotels, especially when they don't have all that much money to begin with.
