There were days when the drop down to insanity got so bad, the memories proved too painful ... That he had to get out of the shop. It was one of those days (or nights) where he opened his eyes and saw nothing but blood and fire. And the lifeless eyes of a golden haired girl...
"Rings on her fingers, Bells on her toes and she shall make music wherever she goes..."
The vampire gave a soft grunt and curse as the whimsical natterings began to swim in his head again, trying to drag him by his feet down into darkness. He wasn't having any of it. Instead he'd pulled on his coat, locked up the shop for the night and ventured out into the streets of London on his own, intent on walking out the nightmares that haunted him even when he was awake.
But fate had other plans, unpleasant plans.
"Oh bleeding ...Bloody heck!"
The first pour of a torrent rain decided fall just as he turned a street corner, as if it were waiting for the vampire to get far enough from the shop before releasing cold, wet bullets by the thousands. Thankfully there was a small bar up ahead, one which would provide temporary shelter until the sudden storm passed. His coat was hung up and he made his way in dry ,save for his damp hair and face which he quickly ran over with a handkerchief... And took a seat at one of the many tables dotting the floor.
This night couldn't get any stranger...

Aki walks out onto the stage in a bright yellow sun dress that came to her knees, the band had already done their warm up and were just waiting for her to arrive. Thankfully there was no full moon or they would have to do more than just wait for a few minutes. Stepping up to the mike she half closes her eyes and begins to sing.
"Dont know why theres no sun up in the sky Stormy weather Since my man and I aint together, Keeps rainin all the time"
Looking out at her audience, she notices a certain familiar smell and finds it coming from a man sitting close to the side of the stage. She could tell right away that he wasn't human, especially since he had no heartbeat.
"Life is bare, gloom and misry everywhere Stormy weather Just cant get my poorself together, Im weary all the time So weary all the time"
He looked a little down. And from what she could smell, he'd been caught in the rain outside. Usually she didn't really like vampires, they were a cunning bunch and were not usually very kind. But some how he seemed different. She couldn't tell how but she just knew that he was not like the rest. So when she sang her next verse, she looked directly at him, smiling sweetly.
"When he went away the blues walked in and met me. If he stays away old rockin chair will get me. All I do is pray the lord above will let me walk in the sun once more. Cant go on, evry thing I had is gone Stormy weather Since my man and I aint together, Keeps rainin all the time...
Keeps rainin all the time..."
And as the song ended she gave the vampire a little wink.

Misery wasn't something foreign to Oliver. He just didn't really face it for a long time, not since his return to England and his meeting with new faces and returning to old comfortable spaces. But for some reason, this night proved to be quite irritable, like a burr caught in the coat of a cat. The dampness of his hair wasn't helping either, and thankfully vampires could no longer catch things like a common cold or he'd be sneezing even before he could say 'Bless your unbeating heart'.
But then he hears the low thrum of the bass, the tinkling ivories of a piano and he cannot help but lift his head and almost get blinded in the process. The bright yellow of her dress was so stark against the darkness of the pub, her hair shimmering platinum under the spotlight. her skin however was mocha in tone, setting off her hair and garments nicely. And her voice...
Oliver had been present during the time of the legendary Lena Horne, had heard her version of the very same song and even though he was now in an era so far from those golden years, it's as if he were right back in Hollywood. Her voice had a deep, rich quality not commonly found these days. Low without being masculine; a jazz singer's voice.
Nostalgia and a slight sense of awe kept his eyes up on the singer where he would rather have not, after all, staring was rude. Even if she was staring right back...
W-wait a minute...
The vampire blinked beneath wet bangs as he was caught within a rather feral gaze, trapped and unable to even twitch a brow. She had such a knowing gaze, like she had knowledge about himself that even he didn't know, and that in itself was a rather unsettling thought. What could this woman know that he didn't? He took a deep breath, smelling smoke, blood, alcohol, peanuts, a melange of colognes and perfumes... and something completely, different.
And as he sat there, just another face in the crowd, the nightingale in chiffon made him feel as if he were the only existing creature in the room. He knew that such a skill was gifted to only the best of performers, where they could make an entire audience of thousands feel special just from a sweeping gaze... So this was just it wasn't it? Just an act.
The tailor would have believed it too, until she smiled his way and sealed it with a wink.
Gulping silently, he applauded politely , more quiet as compared to the louder cheers of the other patrons, but still grateful for the song and the smile.

She grinned at the look of awe on his face, bowing slightly at the applause before coming down from the stage at the side stairs. Catching his eye once more, she pointed towards the bar area and gave a distinct nod over her shoulder.
Aki never really liked vampires. They were cunning, sly and untrustworthy most of the time. Not to mention that they had a bit of a bad history with her kind. Still, the young vampire seemed different, and she was curious about him. Something made her want to know more about the sad look in his eyes. It didn't hurt that he was quite a handsome man.
Sitting at the bar, she ordered herself a martini and waited until she could smell him come close enough to hear her voice, "Hello dere stranger. Have ye come to break mah heart?"
(sorry it's so short Oli-luv not really thinking straight)

((ooc: Aww don't worry about it Aki! ^_^))
An invitation. That was something he couldn't have gotten wrong, at least not with the way she directed his gaze towards the bar with both a pointed digit and purposeful nod. Caution would have warned him about the abruptness of the whole thing, at how quickly she seemed to seek his attention and from the looks of things the bar wasn't as crowded as the floor. Was she going to be his undoing? It didn't matter though, because before he knew it he was already rising from his seat and following her as a moth did to a beckoning flame. And she shone just as brightly.
She could burn you... A whiny voice, like the irritating buzz of a mosquito rang sharply in his ear. Engulf you in fire and brimstone... And as one would with any annoying insect, he slams down on it fast, quieting it before it festered into something else. Surely there was no need to fear her so greatly? Even if she was of lupine blood.
Slipping through a faceless crowd of beating hearts and warm blood, he finally came to stand just behind her, hesitating for just a fraction of a minute. Suddenly he was unsure of what to do, or say without sounding completely foolish or insane. His dark gaze fell upon the silver-gold of her short locks, fighting with both instinct and logic that practically screamed at him to turn around and keep as much distance between them as possible.
"Hello dere stranger. Have ye come to break mah heart?"
Oliver would have been shocked by the sudden brush of her velvety voice, but found that he couldn't really be surprised either. Of course she'd know he was there, Weres had the same acute senses as their more savage cousins, she could probably scent him out just as quickly as he could her.
"You may rest your worries dear lady, I have neither the skill nor the gumption to do such a thing." There is a small smirk on his face as he plays along with her, slipping around her to give an approaching human male a meaningful look before taking the very seat he would have chosen. Usually Oliver wasn't so bold, but tonight he felt oddly empowered by some unknown driving force, and seemed (for the moment) completely unfazed by it.
"One could say that you broke my heart with your song, it was wonderful."

Aki smiled as he slid into the seat next to her, running her fingertip along the Martini glass. Under the dim lighting she could see his face and was a little taken aback at how young he looked up close. But she bet he was a lot older than her like most vampires, unless he was only newly turned. Then she heard the way he spoke and decided that maybe he was much older than that, she didn't remember anyone speaking like that since she watched a Shakespearean play.
"Broke yah heart?" she chuckled and finally turned to face him, full lips curling in a smile, "I din' know dat vampiyahs even had hearts to break." She took a small sip of her drink, licking her lips and watching the vampire closely. He was not only handsome, he also had a certain pretty quality about him. His face didn't have the harsh lines her first husband had, nor the angry furrowed brow. It was different, but she liked it. Made her want to kiss him and make him feel better. "Y'know dis be the first time I talk to any blood-drinker who dinna want to snap mah neck. So tell me, what be yah name pretty-boy?"

He wasn't very used to this, conversing at the bar counter. Usually he avoided places that were closed up and teeming with people. The noise and the smells all congested into one single room, suffocating him like a foul blanket. But strangely enough, there were none of those annoyances. The air was cool on his face and the lights none too bright. Dark eyes were drawn to the hypnotic circular motions of her well manicured finger on the rim of her glass, and her smile...
"Broke yah heart? I din' know dat vampiyahs even had hearts to break."
Her soft laughter is joined with his own, and the tailor ducks his chin in an almost demure fashion, "Oh but we do have hearts M'lady, the only difference is that ours are as silent as the very grave we rose from... But when they break, they break just like everyone else's. Just as painfully."
By the time he looks up, he sees the briefest flicker of tongue from glossy lips and he immediately casts his gaze away again. The gentleman in him chided him for any coveting side glances at her curvaceous form and exotic face. She looked like she could break any man's heart with the barest curl of a lip, or perhaps in a more literal fashion with her claws sinking deeply into his chest to rip it out instead. Oliver hadn't had much dealings with Werewolves, except for maybe one or two who were clients from his early days... After that, it was as if they were intentionally avoiding him altogether.
"Y'know dis be the first time I talk to any blood-drinker who dinna want to snap mah neck. So tell me, what be yah name pretty-boy?"
"How horrid." He said with a small pout of displeasure. "I should hope that my presence will change your general view of my kind..." he sighed and tried not to duck his chin again at her words, "I'm Oliver, Oliver Galworthy."
A low bow of the head and he returns the question with a curious smile, "And I don't suppose M'lady would care to divulge the secret of her name?"

"Well ain't you the gentleman now." she laughed and flipped back a platinum blond curl, " Pleasure to meet you Oliver, I be Akinyi. But please, call me Aki." Aki couldn't help herself, her curiosity making her lean over and brush her fingers down his cheek. She trailed her finger under his chin lifting it slightly so she could see his eyes.
"Such a young face, but ye have such old eyes." she said softly, releasing his chin with a little tap. "I bet yah be a lot older than you look Olleh." Taking another small sip of her drink, she tilted her head at him and looked at him thoughtfully, wondering if he had some vampire companion waiting for him at home since most vampires she'd met were never alone. Well, even if there was they'd have to wait till she was done with him and from the looks of things it wouldn't be anytime soon.
She rested an arm on the bar, cupping her chin as she looked him up and down, "Tell me more about your kind Olleh, do you really turn to dust when you go into de sun? Or is it like in de movies? If I struck a wooden stick into your chest would ye die?" she grinned dangerously, but her tone was playful, "Or whatabout garlic and, crosses?" She pulled off her cross pendant from her neck and dangled it before his face, raising a well shaped brow, "Do yah burn?"

"Well ain't you the gentleman now."
He bowed his head humbly, beaming at the compliment.
" Pleasure to meet you Oliver, I be Akinyi. But please, call me Aki."
"The pleasure is mine M'lady." He looked back up to find his face traced over by gentle fingertips , and suddenly a strange feeling of deja vu came from the touch. It was strange, being the object of any form of affection after all these years of hiding, but not unwelcome. Oliver let her study him at her own pace, watching the slight movement of sharp dark eyes as she observed him with curiosity, rather than fearful wonder as it was with most mortals. Her name, both full and abbreviated, reflected her personality very well. His grasp of the African language was half past rusty but he did recall a few of the basic words, and Akinyi itself as he knew was of Kenyan origin; She who is born in the morning. Aki, on the other hand he only recognised as the Japanese term for Autumn. Both names, despite being from different countries, suited the bold woman seated next to him. Dyed hair aside, she shone bright like a fallen piece of sunlight, radiating a sort of untamed heat beneath smooth dark skin. To him she didn't appear very old either, but far too mature to be considered a Spring or Summer... yes, she reflected the golden tones of Fall.
"Such a young face, but ye have such old eyes. I bet yah be a lot older than you look Olleh."
Blinking at the tap on his nose, he chuckled softly and shook his head, "Almost more than three centuries older to be exact."
It was refreshing, to be able to talk so openly about his true self, without needing to cover it in half truths and lies... Something that churned guilt in his gut when he thought back to the sweet young man he'd invited so recently into his shop and being. The man had kissed a lie... and it sickened Oliver with regret. At least with Aki, he didn't have to hide.
"Tell me more about your kind Olleh, do you really turn to dust when you go into de sun? Or is it like in de movies? If I struck a wooden stick into your chest would ye die?Or whatabout garlic and, crosses? Do yah burn?"
Something about the dangerous glint in her eyes made his unbeating heart leap just a bit, again becoming the moth that danced so close to the fire's edge without caution. So inexplicably drawn, when he should have backed away. Instead he grasps the crucifix swinging like a pendulum in front of his gaze, twisting the chain around his fingers until he could wrap them over her hand.
"There is a reason they call it fiction Miss Aki," he says softly, peeking at her from beneath his fringe," They are all untrue, little lies that humans come up with to make themselves feel safer, so they can sleep at night with no fear. All that talk of tell tale signs on spotting a vampire... Uni-brows and long fingernails?" He pauses to scoff. "They just don't want to acknowledge what they don't understand. I may burn in sunlight, but this?" he pulls her hand until her knuckles touch his bloodless chest, "I can touch it, hold it, and keep it right here close to my heart... And not feel a thing."
Oliver was playing a game, dangerous as it was, but for the first time he was actually enjoying it.

"Three centuries?" she whistled and shook her head, "Dat be a long time now and ye still got such a baby face on ye." Aki chuckled softly and watched the shy way he bowed his head, like he was no more than a boy in a bar. And yet he was old enough to be her ancestor. Oliver really was a pretty boy, one with manners and charm and wit that she couldn't find in many men. Most either wanted to just sleep with her or want something else from her.
There was just something about Oliver that made her wolf growl with delight, as if sensing a prospective mate. He had qualities both she and her animal side admired like his looks and strength which she knew all vampires had. It didn't matter that she'd only just met him, she could tell he was a rare find.
And when he spoke to her like that she felt a shiver go down her spine. Her eyes blazing in excitement as he pulled her hand to his chest where she could feel the muscles hidden by his clothes. "Ye be a wise one Olleh, keep dis cross for luck and love." she said and put the cross around his neck watching the silver dangle from his neck. She then twined her fingers around the chain and pulled him forward until his face was close to hers and she sniffed in his scent.
"You got a girlfriend Olleh?"

It was such an odd feeling. Like being young and old at the same time. While she reminded him of the number of years he'd existed, the maturity and bold attitude she exuded made her seem so much older than he was. Larger and overwhelming with the way she spoke to him, her body language... The slightly haughty tilt of a chin, the particular way she flaunted her body to excentuate her curves just right and the flecks of molten amber that danced in her eyes like fire.
All the signs of an Alpha female.
For just a moment he thought he heard a growl, the reminder that underneath the guise of a beauty was a beast. This rose hid thorns that could make him do more than just bleed, and somehow he wasn't as afraid or as wary as he thought he would be from being so close to what could be known as the natural enemy of his kind. Well, not that Oliver really gave much of a care for what society expected of him, mortal or immortal, human or not. In the end everyone was the same, just ashes in the ground.
"Ye be a wise one Olleh, keep dis cross for luck and love."
Love? He blinked a little, feeling briefly the weight of the metal and the cool of the chain before she used it as a leash to pull him with a strong jerk of her hand. And for the first time in his long existence, the tailor allowed himself to sample what the true strength of a Were could be, to let himself get so close to her that he could feel her warm alcohol tinged breath on his face as she scented him carefully. Not wanting to challenge her for dominance ,he gracefully lets his neck tilt ever so slightly to the side, not in submission , but in an offering of truce. Even then, his own eyes carried a spark of impish glee that one would have when faced head on with something just as beautiful and just as deadly.
"You got a girlfriend Olleh?"
That managed to sober him up, enough to wipe the small smirk from his face and have his head hang a little in silent guilt. "Not what you would call a girlfriend no, I-I wouldn't call it something so frivolous and yet..." he chewed his bottom lip sheepishly, " I cannot claim to be that much more to him."
Dark hair and dark eyes and a bright smile that had once bestowed a kiss upon the very lips he worried his teeth with, as if trying to remember what he felt like. Then he looks back into Aki's eyes, open and vulnerable ,whispering low at a level only she with her superior senses, would be able to hear.
"He is a human."
And that would be enough to explain the guilt and sorrow in his eyes, down cast in hidden shame.

Aubrey's eyes rolled in disgust. It was bad enough that she had to spend an entire night tucked away in this hell hole listening to that bitch of a wolf sing, but now...now she had to watch her ensnare poor little Oliver. An exasperated sigh escaped her lips.
Xavier and Sevanni were not going to be happy. Not that she cared for Sevanni's personal comfort or pleasure. She was rather looking forward to the day that she would get to stab him again. Hopefully, next time it would be a more severe blow than just merely to the foot.
Even worse so than having to deal with him they were having to form an alliance with a pack of more dogs. She rolled her eyes as she watched this disgusting display. She looked around dully. There were a thousand other things that she could be doing than listening to this droll conversation. I would like to snap your neck. The words echoed though her head.
When she returned to Xavier he would have a lot of making up to her to do. She wanted gifts. A lot of them. She pouted, drinking glass after glass of bourbon. She almost faded away from the conversation. Almost. If only she could be so lucky.
The stench of the wolf grew with her rising excitement. Aubrey felt sick. She watched her slip a cross onto Oliver neck. She stiffened. Something made her feel that the wolf giving that up was a big deal. A slick grin appeared on her face. Xavier would be rather pleased with her news.
She watched the pair, amusement rising up in her with his confession of caring for a human. Silly little Oli. Dig your hole deeper love.

"A human?" Aki raised a brow but she understood exactly what he meant. Leaning closer so that she could nuzzle her nose to his she brushed her lips across his chin and spoke softly to him, "I be guessin dat ye didn't tell him everything about yourself yes? He don't know ye be a vampiyah chile?"
To her it didn't matter, in fact it was all the better for her if Oliver was unsure of where he stood with this human, and a male too. Her wolf wanted him, she wanted him too and both of them together agreed that Oliver was a prize they had to have. She had been lonely for so long, why not find a companion in this sweet vampire?
"Ya shouldn't beat yourself up about it Oli, humans always tend to be so complicatin, bein something else gives everything a whole new perspective now yes?" she purred and licked at his smooth chin, "Stop yer worryin, let Aki make it all better now..."
Then she pulled him in closer by the neck and slid her lips over his, claiming him.
(sorry it's so short but I need to get back to studying so this will just up the ante a bit)

Heat.
So much heat he could barely breathe and yet, it was an odd if but liberating sensation to just let go, to ignore the way his head screamed at how wrong this situation was, how foolish he was being for letting his guard down. Just by being here, sitting with this Lycan female was perhaps as taboo as it was going to get... And now she was pressing her lips against cold skin, making him twitch in both unease and wonder at such intimate contact.
"I be guessin dat ye didn't tell him everything about yourself yes? He don't know ye be a vampiyah chile?"
There it was, plain and simple. She'd gotten it all in one, and somehow she didn't make it sound as badly as it did in his head. No, he hadn't revealed his vampiric self to Hayaki, if anything he'd done everything in his power to hide it as one would a dis-figuration. He didn't mean to lie so blatantly... He just didn't want the young man to run from him, spurn him...
And I suppose he'll love you even more for hiding the truth?
The tailor winced inwardly at the stern inner voice, wishing to anything that things could be different. That maybe Hayaki could accept him for what he was, has been for all these any years.
"I-I... I didn't mean... D-didn't want."
"Ya shouldn't beat yourself up about it Oli, humans always tend to be so complicatin, bein something else gives everything a whole new perspective now yes? Stop yer worryin, let Aki make it all better now..."
Moist kitten tongue on his chin, the only warning he got before she seized his lips with her own, his gasp of surprise lost within the insistent heat that burned him like fire and he almost choked on his own whimper. She wasn't gentle with him, not really, what with her hand holding onto the chain and trapping him there, like she was taking something from him with all the aggression her kind was well known for. This was no kiss. Oliver was being devoured...
Eaten alive.

((Lars resigned as a good spy. So Ali took his place.))
Ali sighed and rubbed her eyes. This was going to turn into a long night. She had heard of the two she was watching now from Ian and Colette. They had asked her to go and check it out and see if she could scrap anything up and to her surprise and luck, here they were. Just them together proved the whispered rumors true. Not that she was complaining.
Ali was all for the species mixing together and being able to get along in peace. She had many reasons to back herself up with that and she didnt want the side she was with to loose. It would be a horrible day if that day came. So she was here at he pub. And she couldnt help but smile at the two.
The werewolf, Aki, seemed to be very straight forward and clear to her intentions. Oliver seemed skittish and nervous around her but he wasnt arguing. And then something caught her attention across the pub. She recognized Aubrey. And she knew where Aubrey stood in this. She just hoped she hadnt been seen.
So Aubrey was here to spy as well. Well, she would need to stay hidden from sight and if caught explain she had come for a drink alone. But she kept her watch on Oliver and Aki. She noticed her give him a crest and she rubbed her eyes again. There would be a lot to report. Especially about the human. This would be a long night.
