Cassara strolled idly through Times Square, weaving expertly in and out of the crowd that huddled on the sidewalks. She hated this time of the night, the sun had just set and the streets were still filled with tourists who had no idea where they were going or what they were doing. She spotted one confused looking group and sighed, they were standing right in the middle of the sidewalk and causing a major traffic jam.
Cass walked up to the group and attempted to help them as best she could, so that the sidewalk would be safe to walk on again. She watched as the group walked away and hoped that they would be able to follow her carefully idiot-proofed directions. She sighed again and slipped out of the crowd, cowering back against a building to avoid being trampled. Yet somehow she ended up on the ground anyway, she scrambled to get up but got knocked back again. How in the world did a New York native get crushed under crowds? She should know better by now.

Kevin walked the streets silently, his hands pushed deep into his pockets as he worked his way down the over crowded streets, muttering at the igorant people who just kept pushing. Sliding a hand through his thick golden curls he narrowed his deep blue green hues to a small huddled form on the ground. A soft curse died on his lips as she forced away the people who continued to push the young woman's form down.
Dropping to a crouch, he pulled the young woman into his arms toward his chest as he would hold a child. Looping his arm under the back of her knees his other holding her head gently against the wall of his chest. Rising onto his feet once more he continued down the street toward a bench settling her form on his lap. His fingers gently skimming her cheek for bruises turning her head to catch the other side of her cheek. His plush peach colored lips parted as he spoke softly as if she was indeed a child. "Are you okay, Miss?"

Cass sighed in relief as she felt herself plucked from the possible and probable death by stampede and pulled against a hard chest. Well, that was a new and interesting development on the night. She stayed still as the stranger carried her to safety and even when she was placed in his lap. She'd never been in a man's lap before, it was a little awkward, though that was probably only because she didn't know this man.
She studied him while he checked her for injuries, or that's what she assumed he was doing. He was cute, a little young perhaps but cute, and muscular too. She couldn't believe the ease with which he had carried her. She smiled when she heard his voice, cute. "I think so." She moved a little and gasped as she felt a pain in the side of her stomach, where someone's shoe had made contact. She reached down and drew up her shirt, a bruise was already forming. "Drat! That's going to hurt tomorrow. Thank you though, for saving my life. I thought for sure I was a goner."

A soft laugh past his lips he was sure this woman was serious but couldn't understand just why she was. Perhaps her mortality set fear into her. Watching as she uncovered her side to check the aching spot his deep hues shifted intent on the spot watching it swell already. Muttering something he shook his head, realizing just how friendly he was being. Plucking her off of his lap he settled her beside him to ease her mind. Her studying was starting to worry him she seemed so curious, that he did not need. He'd kept a good cover under everything even so far as to change his last name to a mortal who was well paid off for the deal. A hand rose to brush a strand of hair that strayed on the woman's cheek. I'm sorry, people here are so...ignorant only comes to mind. So rushing." A soft low growl slipped from his lips, his gaze averted to her to see if she'd heard before looking the rest of her over for wounds. A slight frown forming along his lips slowly. "Miss, might I bring you somewhere? A hospital? anywhere?"

She laughed as he moved her off his lap. "Thanks, that was kinda awkward." She pressed lightly against the bruise and quickly let up the pressure. Touching bruises wasn't the best idea, she catalogued that information for later. She looked up when he brushed the hair away and blushed. "It's hardly you're fault that New York is so....New York. It's my fault actually, for not knowing better. I live here for god's sake, and have for many years." She laughed and decided to ignore the growl that she had in fact picked up on.
"Oh no. This hardly requires a hospital. Just a few bruises. I'll hurt in the morning but other than that I'll be fine." She looked at him. "I know I'm probably older than you but calling me miss like that makes me feel old. My name is Cassara, you can call me Cass though." She pushed her shirt back down after glancing over the bruise and checking a few others out.

He nodded slowly to her responses to him, his mind was off wandering into the night lights but part of him still lingered with this woman. Cassara A beautiful name..., he thought. He offered the woman one of his stunning smiles showing off the two rows of ivory within his mouth. Catching her hand in his, he brought it slowly to his lips pressing them into her soft skin. "A pleasure, Cass. May I call you Cassy? I think it fits you so much better."
Raising to his feet he pulled her up holding her sides to steady her, flashing her another smile as he did. Before locking his deep blue hues onto her battered form, "Oh yes, I forgot. I am Kevin Lane." He skimmed the side of his brow checking his watch for the time before looking to her studing her carefully. "Would you like me to walk you where ever you are going? Its no bother, and I think you've been abused by the streets enough for one night, Cassy." He tilted his head down to her with a knowing laugh.

Cass was taken aback by his smile, it really was stunning. She smiled instantly in return. She blushed when he kissed her hand and laughed a little. What an old fashioned move, but that didn't make it any less effective. "Cassy? No one's ever called me that. But you can call me whatever you want."
She allowed him to pull her up and blushed as she felt his hands on her again. She wasn't used to strangers touching her this much. "Nice to meet you Kevin." She watched him look at his watch and smiled when he looked at her. "I think an escort might be nice. To make sure I don't get into anymore." Now that she was hearing it, she actually liked Cassy. It made her feel like she was actually her age, just a little bit happier and more innocent. "I know, I'm so clumsy...all the time."
