"But Haya...you already have." Inora said, her face completely serious. "You broke my heart the minute you told me you liked men." Her eyes started to tear a little, but she couldn't hold it. She burst out laughing. "Darn, I would totally suck as a spy. Didn't even last a whole minute before I broke out in the giggles." She could tell that he was getting tired.
"Well, if anyone stampedes you, I'll take em out. I know kung fu you know." She smiled. "Now come on old man. I think it's past your bed time." She stood up and took his hand so she could pull him to his feet as well. She then turned and headed for the door. "You're gonna have to work on your health so you can keep up with me."

For just a brief moment, he thougth she was serious. He gaped at her. But when she started laughing he did too, shaking his head. "Brat." he said, finishing his drink before she pulled him up. "You're right. I am tired..."
He sighed and let her lead him out of the club, making sure to snag his precious sketchbook before he left. He tipped his head back and took a deep breath of the clear night air-it was a beautiful night. "Where do you live? Can I walk you home?" He asked impulsively, not really wanting to end the night. He turned and smiled at her, his eyes dancing. "After all, if I'm your gallent fake-boyfriend...besides, I could use the excercise. Obviously." he teased her. "Old man indeed..."

Inora smiled and spun around beneath the sky. She lifted her arms and breathed deeply as well. She looked at him and cocked her head to one side. "Considering how tired you are, maybe I should walk you home. I wouldn't want to have to worry about whether you actually got home or not." Inora didn't want to admit that she didn't want Hayaki to see what a bad place she lived in. Knowing him he would be worried about her, and that worry would no doubt lead to a question of where her parents were. Which would no doubt lead to him being incredibly confused as to how her mother got attacked by a wolf in New York City. She highly doubted he knew about werewolves. Inora herself could hardly believe it, and she'd seen her father change.
"So let's just get you home sir, before you break a hip or something." She hoped he would just come along with her, and not ask questions. Questions always caused problems. She slid her arm through his and started to head in the direction of Haya's apartment.

Hayaki hesitated; he could almost sense that there was more to it than Inora was letting on. But, as she'd done earlier with his past, he did now with her living arrangement. If she felt comfortable, eventually, she'd share with him what had made her hesitate. But he would let it come naturally; it was up to her to decide when-and if-she wished to tell him.
So, smiling easily, he allowed her to slip her arm into his and bumped his hip into her. "You better stop with the old jokes." He said, his voice mock-growly. "Or this old man will have prove he's not that old by kicking your butt." He made a face at her and growled, then laughed. "Not that I wouldn't be flat on my face at the end of it...but I think I could take you."
He broke out laughing; shaking his head. A few people gave them curious glances as he laughed, but he didn't notice them. "I live about six blocks from here...convienient, no?" He asked, patting her arm. "It's a nice little spot...I lucked out quite a bit."

Inora breathed a sigh of relief when Hayaki allowed her to get away with her poorly covered avoidance. She knew that eventually she would trust him enough to tell him at least the fact that her mother was dead and she lived alone. She grinned at his hip-bump and then laughed out loud at his words. "Are we going to have a cat fight now? Cause I honestly don't think I have the nails for it. Plus, I will kick your butt if you pull my hair!"
She winked at the people giving them curious glances, and snuggled up to Haya in a very, obviously playful way. She laughed as they looked away disapprovingly. "Yes, it's very convienent you live so close." She said, loud enough for the people to hear, causing them to walk away a little faster. She looked up at Hayaki and shrugged. "I really think you're a bad influence on me. But on a more serious note, you did luck out on your apartment."

Haya made a moue at the mention of hair-pulling, his eyes dancing. "I don't think so, dahrling. I never pull hair." He glanced at her nails, laughing. Oh, he thought those would hurt plenty. Good thing he didn't plan on ever doing that...
He laughed at her snuggling his eyes moving to the people around them. Tugging her, he draped his arm around her shoulder and tipped his head into hers, hiding his laughter for a moment. "I think, m'friend, that we are bad influences on each other. How else to explain the mischevious spirit that seems to have infected us?" He asked, then bit his lip at the living close comment. He didn't want to ruin it by busting out laughing, but god, it was so hard. His ribs ached from the effort not to laugh.
"I really did." He said, hugging her more tightly a moment, then letting her loose-but not go; he kept his arm draped over her shoulder and tucked his other hand in his pocket, the notebook tucked into his elbow and held protectively against his side. "The rent is fairly low, the utilities are included, and my landlady is remarkably non-curious about bumps in the night...not that there's any of that coming from my aparment." He said, his tone still playful but a tinge of...regret...entering on that last comment.

"Oh Dahling I'm sure you don't. You are fah too sophisticated for that sort of nonsense." She smiled and then began to giggle under her breath. She looked up at him, still giggling and noticed that he was laughing quietly as well. She really was having so much fun with him.
She wrapped an arm around his waist and smiled out at the world. "Well you know...if any of the other apartments become available, let me know. It sounds pretty amazing." She noticed the regret in his voice and gave him a light squeeze. "Give it time sweetie. Good things come in time. You wouldn't want to just be sleeping around, it's all about commitment baby! Bumps in the night will come." She thought for a minute. "How about we go to a gay bar later this week and try to find you a honey?" She wanted him to smile, to ease the slight regret from his face and voice.

Haya burst out laughing again. "oh...I can just picture it..." He said, his shoulders shaking. "You...at a gay bar...do you know how many lesbians would be hitting on you?" he asked, giving her a squeeze. "You'd be the most popular girl in the club!"
He carefully avoided the rest of her statement, not really feeling like talking about it. It wasn't really a choice he'd made consciously, but...his time with his first lover had taught him that a one-night stand was really not for him.
They reached his apartment and he stopped, sighing. "I think we can pass on the gay bar." He said, grinning. "I'd feel bad...cause you'd take all the attention from me."

"Really? Hmm...maybe I should rethink what team I'm playing for." She couldn't honestly picture herself being surrounded by lesbians. It had never happened before and she really couldn't see it happening. She shook her head, and looked at him. "Who could look at me with you there, you are a vision!" She said, only half kidding.
She hugged him tightly, sad that the night was over, but happy they'd had so much fun. "Well, have a good sleep Haya. I hope we can have a lot of fun before you have to leave. Cause I'm certainly going to miss you." She smiled as she pulled away from him.

Hayaki chuckled and hugged her, then reluctantly pulled away. "Alright. So...I'm picking you up from practice tomorrow..." with a bundle of flowers for you..."and we'll hang out afterward?" He asked, shifting his notebook to the other side so he could dig out his keys.
He yawned; as much as he'd love to draw the night out, he was about to pass out. And he wanted to get the sketchbook someplace safe before a freak rainstorm came down and destroyed all his work. "You call me and let me know when to be there...all dolled up and shiney for you." He said, laughing as he finally found his keys.

Inora nodded. "Yup bright and semi-early. And we will definately hang out afterwards. I couldn't imagine not spending more time with you my love!" She said, acting all dramatic again. She shook her head, so very much fun. "I'll definately be calling you. Now get up to bed and go to sleep, I don't think I could carry you to your apartment if you pass out."
She watched him fish out his keys and took a step back. "Sweet dreams Hayaki. Thanks for everything tonight. It meant a lot to me that you came." She smiled one last time, gave him a brief wave and then headed for her house, ready for a long sleep.

Hayaki smiled as he watched her leave, his eyes warm. He was surprisingly lucky, he reflected. Turning, he unlocked his door and walked inside, stashing his sketchbook away before locking up and heading to bed.
I think...this is the start of a beautiful friendship....
He was still smiling as he drifted off to sleep....
