Ali glanced around at the city coming into view to her very eyes. It was gorgeous like always. She loved cities and she had been hoping New York wouldnt disappoint her. The hustle and bustle was rather nice to her. She flowed in and out of traffic easily. She had been born into it and so she could live with it.
She smiled as Times Square happened to appear where she was. She had just been wandering and this big bright spot had called out to her and her feet had taken her there. She watched some of the cars going by with people rushing into taxi's and broadway plays posted up in big billboard style advertisements. She could also smell the food and hear the venders calling out.
So she walked down the street and to one of the hot dog stands. She ordered one and covered it with everything and then wandered her way back down the street. There was so much to see and so little time. She never stayed anywhere long. But she did visit this place often. It reminded her of home...and she swore she would never return there.
Ali found a bench and she sat down, crossing her legs and frowning at the rip in the left knee to her dakr blue jeans. "I just bought those...." She muttered. But she sighed and shrugged it off. She had clothes worse then that. When you loved climbing trees, rips normally appeared in the plenty.

Inora walked through Time Square, reading a book. She realized how dangerous this was, yet she did it day after day any way. She had gotten quite good a weaving through the crowds of people and stopping on street corners before she could get brutely run over by a taxi cab. She continued to walk, ignoring the curious glances of some and the "she's crazy" glances and whispers of others. She focused instead on enjoying her book...oh and staying alive. She stopped by a pretzel cart and smiled at the man behind it. He knew her, and her crazy ways. She recieved the pretzel, already topped with everything she liked, in the hand that wasn't holding her book and payed the man with the money sticking out of the top of the book. She then proceeded as she had been, the only difference was the she was alternating between turning pages and taking bites of the pretzel.
She headed for her favorite bench, the one she sat on every time she came to Time Square. She avoided a few near collisions and finally made it. She sat down before she realized that there was someone else there. She looked up from her book, the pretzel comically in her mouth, as she was mid-bite. She quickly chewed it and smiled. "Hi, sorry. I didn't realize you were sitting here. I was kinda on auto-pilot, I come here almost everyday. I'm Inora." She said, holding out the hand with the pretzel in it. She grinned, placed the pretzel in her lap and offered the hand again, this time empty.

Ali had been watching the cars zoom by when she heard whispers and words that didnt sound friendly. She raised an eyebrow as people murmered about a girl that was crazy. She wondered how that could be when all the people she had met were not crazy. She then realized they were talking about a girl who was reading a book and eating a pretzel. Ali couldnt help smiling at this. She remembered when she had done that so long ago. Now she just traveled.
When the girl sat down by her she chuckled at the meeting and she took the hand Inora offered. "Im Ali. And dont worry about it. I used to do the same thing. Sometimes being on Auto-pilot helps out." She shrugged slightly and then took off her dark black coat and set it beside her on the bench.

Inora smiled and slid a bookmark into the book she was reading. "So, what brings you to the bench?" She wasn't sure if the girl, Ali apparently, was a NYC native or not but she figured that her question would cover either side of that coin. The girl seemed nice enough so Inora decided she would settle in and talk to her for a bit, she didn't have to be at work for a while which was the reason she had picked up a book and headed for Time Square. It was as good a way to waste time as any.
She looked around, studying the scenery of the square, not much had changed since the last time she'd come. That was what she loved about New York, as busy as it was. Change didn't come immediately so you could enjoy the fast pace without being disoriented by changing scenery. "You enjoying your hot dog?" She asked as a way to further the conversation along. She'd always had trouble making conversation with new people, it was one of her quirks that she did not enjoy.
