Serenity looked around the park for a seat. It was a sunny afternoon and she had the night off. There were families everywhere. She walked around till she found a free quiet bench, away from loud kids. She sat down and set her bag next to her. She got her book out, opened it where she left off, sipped her coffee and disappered into her book.

Inora, who happened to be in Central Park doing one of her many odd jobs, was quickly eating up the distance between herself and the unsuspecting woman on the bench. One might ask why she was going quite so fast, and the answer to one's question would be that she was currently being pulled by a pack of at least ten dogs.
Yes, sadly, Inora had no other way to make money than sell merchandise at a local store and walk dogs for snobby New Yorkers. Though her job was certainly getting interesting since the rich tastes had drifted away from tiny dogs and more towards the gigantic variety. So not only did she have a passel of ten dogs, they were all at least half her size.
No matter how much she attempted to reign them in, they always managed to take her exactly where they wanted to go. Today it seemed that they really wanted to go say hello to the poor woman sitting on a bench, quietly reading a book and minding her own business.
The distance was finally completely null and void, and as the dogs came to a grinding halt, Inora found herself slipping, sliding, and finally falling flat on her face. Though she managed to keep a good strong grip on the leashes, god forbid she lose these priceless puppies.
"Hi, I'm terribly sorry. They don't listen to me, and I can hardly keep them reigned in on my own." Inora said as she struggled to get to her feet one handed.

Serenity looked up from a book, when she heard barking. She saw a young girl, walking, well, it more looked like being pulled, by a pack of dogs. She smiled and went back to reading her book. Not before too long the dogs and the girl were next to her. Serenity put her book down and pet the dogs one by one.
"Oh, no, it's fine. No need to apologize. I simply adore dogs." Serenity looked up at the girl and smiled.

Inora smiled and nodded. "That's good. If you had said you hated them, then these poor things would have spent hours trying to get you to change your mind." She patted the one nearest to her and shook her head. "They've been known to do just that when faced with a cat person. Though it's funnier to see them faced with the actual cat. Unless of course you are the one holding the leashes. Than it's not so funny, because mostly all I see then is pavement." She laughed.
"Hi, I'm Inora. Dog walking is just one of my many specialties." Her grin was wide and mischevious.

Serenity laughed. "If I was a cat person, these darlings would definiatly changed my mind." She petted the one closest to her and kissed its nose. They were very adorable. "I'm Serenity. I'm part time bartender, part time college student." She laughed and smiled at Inora's smile.

Inora nodded. "Yes, they are very good at their job. And at most other things too. They're rich people dogs so they're used to being shown off."
She nodded again. "Ah yes, college student very serious." Then she smiled. "Bartender? Really? I'll probably end up seeing you one night then. I frequent clubs often. Unless you're in like a pub or something. Then I probably won't be seeing you at all." She didn't think to explain why a 17 year old was a frequent clubber. The thought never did cross her mind in conversations like this.

Serenity smiled and nodded. "Well, they are very good at their job." She moved her stuff and patted the seat next to her. "I work at clubs. I can't handle all the smoke in pubs. Maybe I will see you around. A free drink might be there for you." She winked and laughed.

Inora took the seat Serenity indicated and nodded. "Well thanks. Though I get free drinks in most of them anyway." She grinned, knowing that that at least needed explanation so Serenity wouldn't think she was some man's lady that got drinks wherever she went. "I'm a band and we play the clubs around here often, trying to get our music heard. They often let us sponge off the bar in addition to our pay. Since we can't drink alcohol."

Serenity looked in suprised and nodded. "A band? Really? Amazing." Serenity always loved bands and music. She always wanted to be in one, as the singer. "I'm pretty sure I can get you into my club. The manager and I are close. We can probably get you paid more to. She can mooch off people like Ive never seen before." Serenity laughed.

Inora immediately perked up. "Really! Oh that would be so amazing, we're always looking for new places to perform." She smiled. "Oh and more money is never a bad thing." Her bandmates would be ecstatic and in her debt even further. Inora was constantly the one lining up new gigs. She would go after club owners at all hours of the day and night to get her band heard and get more chances to perform. "I would totally appreciate that. We're called the Four Elements, and if you need a demo I can definately get you one."

Serenity smiled sweetly. "It is no big problem at all. A demo would be great. Here is the number of the club and my cell." She took a piece of paper out of her backpack and wrote them down. "My cell is always on. If you call at night, call the club. I work nights mostly." She handed the paper over.

Inora accepted the paper with a thankful look. "This is so great. I'll get you the demo as soon as I can." The dogs began to pull at the leashes and Inora was nearly yanked off the bench. "Well, thanks. Sorry to cut this short, but unfortunately I must go where the dogs go, and the dogs are going." She stood up and waved the paper with Serenity's numbers on it. "I'll be sure to give you a call." She then pulled out her business card, which she always carried while walking dogs, and handed it to Serenity. "And if you ever need anything, odd jobs or dogs walked, you can give me a call. The number's for my cell." The dogs began to pull her away and she grimaced. "Sorry, gotta go! Nice meeting you." She called over her shoulder as she was forced to sprint after the dogs.
((Sorry, it seems like this was really short but I can't see that many dogs sitting still for much longer than this.))
