Colbie squinted, since becoming a vampire, she didn't have much of a thing for bright lights, her eyes had adjusted to the night, and she didn't have very bright lights in her apartment or in the shop, but the place looked fantastic. Exciting even, but you would never tell from the entrance way where she had met Max in the first place.
"Mininum wage," Colbie answered with a shrug as she took in all the sights, "I get the apartment upstairs for a discount though, I guess that makes up for it. It use to supply food but," Colbie shrugged again, "when you don't need conventional meals I have a fair bit to spend on other stuff." She didn't specify other stuff as she was too busy looking around, standing on her tippy toes to see over the head of a man obscuring her view. "I must say this place looks pretty cool."

"Here," Massimo reached beside the door to the lights switch and turned the lights down, "Better?" He asked looking at here, smiling. Then he stepped forward and whispered something in the guys ear in front of them. The man turned, looked at them both, then walked away to the other side of then room. Massimo shook his head slightly, and then returned his gaze to Colbie "Would you like a drink or something?" Asked taking a small step toward the bar, "Its on me. You wont have to pay a dime." He said still smiling.

She was relieved when the lights dimmed, though she wondered how he knew. Her mind didn't stay on that though, the lights, alarms, change falling, laughter, people talking, everything overwhelmed her. She smiled contently. She liked being around many people, she'd always been a fan of crowds.
She noticed Max talking to another man before he walked away, she wondered for a moment what it was all about, but she figured it was business and that made it no concern of hers.
"Yes please," she responded politely to his offer of a drink.

Massimo gently took her hand and led her over to the bar. Where they sat down. He looked at her "So what do you want? We have pretty much everything." He said slightly turning to look around at a some of the others at the bar too. A few vampires, two humans and a werewolf. Massimo looked away from them and back to Colbie. Now it was time he started thinking about how he was going to get money from her. Whether it be tonight or tomorrow or a week from now. He always tried to have a plan set and ready.

When Colbie had traveled to Ontario Canada for a short while, she'd drank at bars she'd been nineteen she was legal there. Here in New York, a year later she still wasn't legal. "Water please." She frowned slightly, could she really have water. No one really gave her details on the do's and don'ts of vampirism. She was kind of winging it.
Ringing of someone winning went off, she turned to see a man jump from his seat wooping and raising his hands in the air, while a few people around him congradulated, a few walked away a little angry it wasn't them who had won. She turned back to Max and smiled, "you like running this place... it seems like it would be a lot of work."

Massimo smiled "Don't drink alcohol?" He asked lightly, not judging in the least, just simply curious. He turned to the bartender and ordered her water and him a small glass of Vodka. Normally he might add a little bit of blood to mix it with. But sometimes he liked to change it up every once in awhile. Though change wasn't always a good thing.
Massimo turned to the man who'd just won and smiled and nodded at a few people who looked his way. Then looked back at Colbie "Sure its hard work, with the fights, and keeping the whole place running like normal. Plus having to keep it pretty much a secret so the city doesn't find out," He sighed softly, "But, in the end I think its worth it."
"After all, if your going to live forever, you should have a good hobby or something. Something to keep you busy. I find that if you don't stay busy, you'll very easily go insane." He said and then the drinks were put down in front of them.

"I guess so," Colbie responded looking at the water, she wrapped her tiny pale hands around the cool glass, "never really thought of it that way...haven't given much thought to forever. I guess in someways it still hasn't sunk in for me yet."
Colbie was pretty new at being a vampire, she'd been turned a few months before her 20th birthday. She was still getting the hang of things, but she took everything in life in stride, and with a smile on her face. She got upset late at night, thinking about immortality. One day she planned on growing up, having a family, getting old with someone she loved and even eventually dying. What was life with no end? Colbie didn't fret to much yet, she was still young but she figured one day it would really get to her. Till then though she kept on a happy face. "Whats your favorite game around here?" She asked kind of curious.

Massimo understood that, it had taken him awhile too get use to being a vampire and the thought of forever use to scare him so mush he wouldn't even hunt. But now the thought didn't bother him in the least. "You'll get use to soon enough. It's only normal to feel that way." He said in a soothing voice. He looked at his glass for a minute, nothing ever tasted the same when your a vampire. Being able to really taste food and drinks was about the only thing he missed of his human life. He smiled softly to himself before taking a drink. Nope. Still not much taste.
He looked away from his glass, to face Colbie "I would have to say.... poker." He nodded as if to agree to himself, after he sure it was true he went on to tell why "You see poker was the game that I lost my human life on. I bet everything I had on that game, and lost. The vampire turned me in a moment of pity." It was the most clear thing about his past that he could remember. So clear and perfect like it had happened just yesterday. He seemed to come back to himself and smiled, "Its a fun game." He finished softly.

"You lost everything, yet you still love the game," Colbie said a bit bluntly, and a little suprised. "I don't think I'd still love what got me turned." Thinking about the way she worded the sentence, she realize it was a lie. Her trust made her go with Lars, and he had turned her, and she still trusted him with her life, was good friends with him, and would protect him if she had to. "What I mean to say is..." what do I mean? "You lost your life in a gamble yet you are still willing to take chances." She thought that sentence over. "Well putting it like that, it is rather respectible."
Colbie didn't mean any offense in anything she ever said, she just spit out what ever came to her mind. Never really thought about it already left her mouth. It was something that often got her in trouble. She took a small sip of water. Tasteless as ever, it was water after all. She half expected to start freaking out like Michael Corvin did in Underworld:Evolution. She frowned, most of her knowlege came from books and movie, all Hollywood. She decided no more movie nights.

Massimo smiled warmly "I won't let a little bit of bad luck stop me from living how I want to live. You can't go through life afraid to take chances, " He took another drink, "Thats just how I've alway lived." Everything about his life was about taking chances. His whole business was a one big chance. Massimo was just lucky enough to be able to keep it quiet.
Max slowly turned around his his seat so his back was leaning against the bar. "So what do like to do for fun Colbie?" He asked, looking around at the many people gambling, this was one of his most busy nights he'd had in awhile. Though that was fine buy him. The people that come. The money he gets.

Colbie shrugged, she didn't find herself that intersting, "reading, I sketch a bit but i'm not good, its just someting I do when i'm bored. I like to travel, listen to music, nothing very interesting I assure you."
Colbie was happy with her surroundings, she felt calm, nameless in a place this big, and that was how she liked it. Made her feel safe.
