The smells of the night were exciting - human, cold air, and the simple smell of earth mixed together were a calming essence in the hectic blend of lights and sounds in New York City.
Aurel cracked her neck to the left, then to the right as she surveyed the few citizens that inhabited Central Park that night. She stood against a tree dressed simply in jeans and a yellow t-shirt with the words Sweet and Sour that contrasted against the mood of the dark atmosphere.
She intently watched the man sitting on a bench across the path playing his guitar in hopes of obtaining a few dollars. He had accumulated thirty-two dollars this night. Last night, she recalled, he had made only twenty-five. His music was the kind that would attract the human night-walker; calmer melodies flowing within lyrics that told of mysterious, beautiful things. He was talented, Aurel had to admit; She enjoyed his music herself.
The night had just begun, and yet she had already tired of her nightly post. The pushed off from the tree and walked past the man, throwing a fifty into his case. He looked at her with wide eyes, and almost stopped playing. She just walked, hair slightly waving in the wind. Perhaps this night was going to be longer than she wished.

Leto never did like the colder weather. He was used to Egypt and loved the sun, but seeing as he was on vacation, a little cold weather and nightly walks couldn't hurt. He just hoped his whole trip wouldn't be a waste of time. Even though the air was cold enough to see him breathing he never bothered to button up his white shirt, or wear shoes for that matter. He just kept his leisurely pace as he walked and sniffed around every now and then. His dark hair blew in the wind as his shirt did too. He heard a very nice melody coming from a man with a guitar far off in the distance. He smiled as it reminded him of a song he used to sing. As he walked closer to the man he noticed a very attractive young woman. He didn't bother to sniff for her scent due to the number of humans now standing around the area. He noticed her walking away and decided to follow her. Her very quietly started to change his direction and walk about ten yards behind her. He kept his steps light and his pace matching hers. He was looking for some fun and he thought he may have found it. The rumbling in his stomach didn't help either. He kept his hands in his pockets hoping no one nearby would suspect anything. Maybe tonight would be worth the trip.

The cement pounded under her feet. She was walking harder than she should have. If she wasn’t careful, there was going to be footprints in the cement. The smelt the air again, breathing it in, more for the scent that the requirement of air - there was no requirement.
Something lingered in the back of her mind: a buzz, a warning; a familiar and yet unfamiliar warning that rang loudly.
She stopped walking; hands in her pockets, letting the scant crowd sift around her pale body. There were few things that made the skin on the back of her neck prickle, she was immortal, indestructible but for by sunlight and fire. There wasn’t anything she should be afraid of.
Then the scent hit her: the musky, pine smell of the wolf. Suddenly the lingering in her mind made sense. She instinctively frowned. She didn’t hate wolves – they had given her no reason to hate them – but she wasn’t so sure if the wolf shared her opinion.
Aurel figured that the other supernatural creature had to be following her. Hm. If he had wanted to hurt her, would he have done so already? She shook her head, shrugging the thought away from her mind. Perhaps it was simply a coincidence.
The more she walked on, the more she doubted her own theory.

Leto halted as his target stopped. She must have caught on. Damn. Did she find me already? Or is she just relaxing, taking her time? No she must have smelt me there is no other choice. Then what do I do? Leto pondered his options then decided to try and play off like he was just resting. He leaned against a lamp post that was next to him and waited for her to move. Leto eyed her up and down and grinned. He new what he wanted to do before eating. He just wasn't sure if she was a good target for that. Perhaps he should just scare her. He slowly began walking again making sure to get up close and personal. He walked slowly closer as he reached about five yards away. He stopped to see if she would run. He still didn't know what she was. He rummaged through his pockets until her found a gold coin. He flicked it through the air and it landed right at her feet. He waited for her reaction and grinned again as he let out a low growl by mistake. He quickly bit his lip hoping she didn't hear him.

She didn’t move; the wolf didn’t move. She turned her head slowly to look behind her and saw a man leaning on a lamp post not far – unmistakably the wolf. His scent hit her like thousands of tingling needles: not painful, not unpleasant, but noticeable and worthy of a decent shudder. And shudder she did. He was a handsome man, and she felt a soft smile tug on her face. He eyed her body keenly, and grinned. She turned her head away as the secret smile grew ever wider. Was Aurel, the one who hadn’t loved for a century, attracted to a man – a wolf - ; something supposedly and utterly forbidden to vampire flesh? Well, she thought, I never really was one for rules. Her train of thought was traumatized quickly by the sudden tinkling of a coin hitting cement. She looked down at the coin and watched it spin in circles until it hit the ground. She glanced slyly over as she bent to pick up the coin. He stood motionless, but a small noise – a growl or murmer, perhaps? – escaped his lips. Aurel rose up and rolled the coin over her knuckles cleverly as she walked slowly to the handsome supernatural creature by the lamp post. “Excuse me, good sir,” she said, oozing attraction over them like candy, cocking her eyebrow up slightly, “but I do believe you’ve dropped this coin.”

Leto was loving this. He would have a lot of fun with her. He stared intently on her ass as she picked up the coin, then looked away as she walked to him. "Huh? Oh why yes dear lady I did drop it. Thank you." He took a quick sniff and his eyes went wide for a second before going back to normal. VAMPIRE! He couldn't believe it. He was wanting to play with this abomination? He shuddered at the thought then grinned to himself. He always did want to try new things. Leto stood up straight and stepped toward the girl casually. "Where are my manners. My name is Leto." He held out his hand and smiled as he bowed half way in front of her. He couldn't help but grin as he heard the attraction in her voice. This was going to be the best or worse night ever. Either way he would win. He just hoped that if she would try to fight it would be with less witnesses.

Aurel watched his eyes widen in surprise. So he hadn’t known what she was right off the bat? Either way, he smiled. She figured he wouldn’t try to hurt her, and not just because they were in plain sight of a couple mortals.
“Where are my manners. My name is Leto.” Aurel smiled. Leto… an unusual name; something exciting and new and… attractive.
“Leto.” She took his hand and shook lightly, not letting her true strength soak into the gesture. That will come later, hopefully. “I am Aurel. Aurel Lafeyet. Though names probably mean little to you… as is of most of our kin…” She listened herself drift off and corrected appropriately. The wind ruffled her short hair slightly, pushing her bangs into her eyes. “What brings one such as you to have an interest in one such as I?”

Leto smiled and grinned as she shook his hand. Come on you have more strength then that. He took her hand and kissed it gently, only for show of course. He grinned and the hairs on his arms stood up as she spoke. "Aurel? Such a beautiful name." He smiled forcibly, and stared at her. Maybe I can still do something with her. He chuckled and nodded. "Your right but you are different. You intrigue me. Most of your kind wouldn't dare get close to me. Let alone put me in biting distance of you. He stepped closer and grinned as he gripped her wrist so no one could see but her. The wind caused his dark hair to flow with it. It was a longer than hers but not by much. "Aren't you scared? To be so close with no one to help you." He bared his teeth to her and snapped them shut. He hoped this would startle her, though the more he smelt her the more he seemed to like her scent. This scared him and he tried to hide it behind a fierce exterior. "So what is a pretty little lady doing all by herself out here anyway? You could get hurt." He almost threatened.

Aurel melted as he said her name. He rolled it across his tongue in such a way that made her heart flutter. She was falling for this wolf, falling very, very, fast. Shit. Fuck. Damn. She was distracted by his dark hair. Such beautiful dark hair. The pressure on her wrist made her flinch slightly, bringing her back to reality. She listened to his little speech contently. He obviously didn’t understand what – who – he was meddling with. He bared his teeth. A threat, or just a tease? She stared him in the eyes, amused. “Little ladies –” Aurel concentrated, then quickly broke his hold with a kenpo-style escape, falling back into a defensive judo stance, “aren’t normally black-belts in several styles of martial arts.” She straightened turned her neck sideways. “Weakness is one thing I refuse to posses, dear Leto. Never underestimate me, friend. Me or the browning ((type of large hand gun, if you didn’t know)) loaded with silver bullets that lies in my pocket.”

((lol I know what a browning is. Nice choice by the way. No one ever picks it anymore.)) He felt her pulse flutter as her heart did. He grinned then took a step back as she broke his grip and made her stance. He put his hands up in a surrender gesture. "I was just teasing my dear. No need to get so defensive." He was telling the truth but didn't think she would buy it. He grinned even though she was ready to kill him and sighed. "Listen. If it makes you fell any better I would dream of eating you. You probably taste terrible. I prefer warm blood." He chuckled and put his hands down again. "Alright Aurel?" He purposely said her name to get her heart to flutter. He needed to calm her down before she made a scene. He was just a tiny bit nervous at the mention of silver bullets. "Hey come one now Aurel no need to get mean. Lets just chill and go for some coffee or something." He smiled and held out his hand...

((lol thanks. happens to be one of my favorites... that and a mini uzi - modified clip. xD))
Hm. That little tease. And eat her? He wouldn't get a chance. It dawned upon her that he had noticed her reaction when he said her name again. It made her fidgety thinking about it. No need to get mean... Had she really been that ticked off at his underestimation of her? Yes. Yes she had. She looked at his hand for a few seconds, the internal struggle obviously showing on her face. Was there anything she could loose? Being completely honest, she looked at him with soft eyes. "You know Leto..." She put her small hand inside his larger one. "Coffee would be nice."

((Mmm awesome, mine is the beretta or maybe a deagle)) Leto's own heart skipped a beat at the thought of something as wild and new as this. He wrapped his hand around hers and smiled a big smile. "Great I know a great little place." He pulled her gently to his side and led her out of the park to a little cafe just across from it. He didn't mind her scent so much anymore. In fact he kinda enjoyed it. She smelt like a mixture of stone and roses. He led her inside the cafe with a joyful glee in is eyes. "So what would you like? It's on me." He said as he pulled out a chair from one of the tables for her. He knew they would have to be careful but the risk only made him more anxious to spend time with her. "Please sit. I will get you what ever you want." He stared at her waiting for her response, hoping she would enjoy her time with him.

((both nice choices, indeed.)) Aurel was beginning to love this Leto. The walk to the cafe was pleasant, but there was one thought that brought her stinglingly back to reality. How would the supernatural community deal with them if it ever got that far? They could always just say eff you and leave somewhere... but Aurel had been running all her life. She didn't want to run anymore. She waved the thoughts away, and decided to cross the bridge when they came to it. A slight delight wormed its way inside of her looking at the happiness in his eyes. Had she caused that? She smiled, her intuition knowing she had. "Please sit. i will get you whatever you want." She sat in the chair and realized that a couple coming into a cafe in the middle of the night, both without coats. Might be odd. Disregarding the thought entirely, she laughed, saying, "I haven't had coffee since god knows when. Just get me one of whatever you'll be having. I'm open to new things." She breathed in his scent heavily. It was musky, very male and certianly not delicate at all with a dash of pine and forest. He smelt like a brand of natural pine soap for men. It was exhilirating. She closed her eyes and breathed in, exaggurating her movements for his viewing pleasure. "You smell good." She opened her eyes, and winked.

Leto could barely contain himself. He quickly walked to the counter and came back with two cups of black hot coffee. He set one down in front of her and the other across from her. He sat down and grinned. "I smell good do I?" He blushed very faintly and sniffed her. "Mmm well you don't smell to bad yourself." He winked back and looked into her eyes. She did smell good. The rose smell made her smell feminine and the stone gave a someone eerie strength to the scent. He hadn't been with anyone for so long he forgot how good it felt to talk with someone. Even if it was a vampire seductress. "So what is a pretty little lady doing out so late?" He grinned as he knew full well that he was much taller ad bigger then her. He sipped his coffee and thought about what his clan would say. He loved how she exaggerated her movements. It was so alluring. He stared at her eyes and sniffed at her again. "Let me know if I do something that bothers you." He meant both his sniffing and the fact that his shirt was still unbuttoned.

Aurel sipped the black coffee with the nonchalant grace she had perfected over her many years of existence. She watched him blush at her compliment and could feel the faint heat seep up to her face at as he returned the flattery. He winked back at her. She chuckled lightly. ”So what’s a pretty little lady doing out so late?” She watched a smirk consume his face. “Did we not establish that I’m no pretty little lady?” She paused, and then realized he might have offended him. “But that’sbeside the fact; I was out for my nightly walk… and a feed.” She hoped it didn’t disturb him. Aurel supposed she didn’t really have any room to talk – but then again, he enjoyed the… larger part of the mass. She never really thought about how feeding habits would affect each other. Ugh. She was letting her judgment cloud her enjoyment of the situation. He was much taller than she. Aurel, being a very small woman anyway, was only about 5’ 1”, and he was at least a full head taller than she was. As a small person, taller men seemed to think that they could intimidate her. That was not so, though they were generally the minority that she was attracted to the most. She sipped the black coffee again and smiled at the man. “I doubt you could bother me at the moment Leto. Likewise… let me know if I start to disturb you, in any way.”
