Colbie stared blankly at the menu inside the local Starbucks as she rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet, she could have went with something she liked, such as a tall hot chocolate, but she was feeling... adventurous. Not adventurous enough to want to go out and do something crazy, but perhaps a new drink would kill her curiosity. It was her turn and the lady behind the counter greeted her with a large smile plastered upon her face. "Ummm," Colbie stared up and then pointed "that one?" The employee looked to where she was pointing looking puzzled. "The fourth one down... The fruity one... I can't pronounce it sorry." Colbie thought the lady was going to roll her eyes, though instead she just asked for her money which Colbie counted out the proper change before handing it over the counter, another lady handed her, her drink. Colbie thanked them both and turned around and found a empty couch in the corner, she held her drink in her hand swirling it with a wooden stick, it was burning her hands through the cardboard but didn't really mind, she leaned back and closed her eyes.

John was sitting on a couch not far from Colbie, sitting next to his younger sister Amber, who was babbling on about things. They were having a mini discussion, or more of a debate now, considering what it had turned into. They had been talking about the drinks, and then it had moved onto his career as an actor, and then to her desire to move out and have her own apartment, except, she wasn't responsible enough yet. She started having a go at him, saying that he was always pretending around her, and that he was just being over protective and mean, which he wasn't, but she was biased.
There was also a new boyfriend of hers that he didn't really like, mainly because he could tell the guy was an asshole. One of the problems was, was that he was a werewolf, but he couldn't and wouldn't tell her where he went when it turned to the full moon, and thankfully, she hadn't worked out there was a pattern to his disappearances. "You're just an idiot! Give me my keys." She demanded, grabbing her pair of keys from his hand and storming out of the shop.
Most people would have been embarrassed about a scene like that, but to be honest, it didn't really bother him anymore, he did, what could be seen as, far more embarrassing things on camera. But then again, he was just quite an accepting person by nature, not that he acted like it all the time. He was wearing a pale blue long sleeved shirt, with the sleeves rolled up past his elbows, a pair of closely fitting black jeans, ankle high black boots, hidden underneath his trousers, and a watch on his wrist. John sighed and relaxed further back into the sofa, crossing one leg over the other and wondering about ordering another drink.

Colbie opened only her one eye and peered over to the arguing duo. The scene was making it difficult for Colbie to keep a straight face. Opening both eyes she stopped sturing her drink and took a slow sip, it was decent, but it wasn't really her type of drink she decided. She inconspicuously looked to the duo again in time to see the lady take keys from the mans hand and storm out.
Colbie figured the man would act all embarassed, but nothing. She opened her mouth to say something, but figuring that would make it seem like she had been ease dropping she closed her mouth again and dropped her eyes to her drink. She gazed around the room, it seemed there weren't many people who hadn't witnessed at least a portion of the scene, she smirked before taking another sip of her drink.

Sometimes his sister could be such a pain in the ass, always making a fuss about everything and anything that she could, often saying that her brother didn’t care about her. Not that he minded anymore, to be honest, he was quite used to it, and so ignored it most of the time when she had a tantrum, a girl of her age, still having tantrums like a five year old. Getting up off of the sofa, he walked to the counter, glancing to the name of the unpronounceable fruit drink and deciding against it almost immediately. ”I’ll have a coffee please.” He said politely, secretly smiling a little as the girl behind the counter looked really uncomfortable for a moment, then laughed a little, apologising immediately.
”She acts like that all the time.” He rolled his eyes, having said that as a response to the girls continued laugh at how his sister had just acted. She quickly went off and got his coffee, taking his money and smiling widely, obviously refraining from laughing hysterically. To be honest, although he found it a little funny, he couldn’t understand why she found it that funny. Taking the fresh coffee from her, he walked back to the sofa he had been sitting on, spotting Colbie, though not saying anything, and took a sip from his drink, thinking it was just right.

Colbie noticed the man got up, she assumed he was going to leave but he came back only a few moments later with a new drink, she looked at the froth sitting on top of her drink, at first it had been a decent tasting drink, but the more she drank of it the worse it tasted. She sturred it with the wooden stick before plucking the stick out of the drink and staring at it, froth and a pink-ish liquid dripped down. Perhaps it was the wooden sticks fault. She shoved the stick back in the drink already coming to the conclusion she wasn't going to be drinking anymore of it.
She looked to the man who was also sitting on the couch, he was rather cute, but he looked a bit older than herself. "Um.. what drink do you got?" She questioned pointing at her drink, "this one.. not so good."

Once or twice he had left after his sister, mostly due to embarrassment, but now he had worked out that people usually forgot in a few minutes if you didn’t make anything of it. Looking over at Colbie and her drink, he started to think of how much of a good idea it had been to order coffee, instead of that complicated and horrible drink that she had in her hands. He looked away though, before he gave the impression of being completely disgusted by the liquid, though he obviously wasn’t a dedicated fan of it.
Looking up as she spoke to him, making sure he didn’t think about the drink in her hands too much, he smiled politely and replied. ”Coffee.” Getting up off of the sofa that he had been sitting on, he went and sat down next to her, though not close enough that their elbows were touching or anything. ”I’m guessing that’s the complex sounding drink.” John said, pointing briefly at the pink goo like substance in her hands, wondering if anyone in the room could actually pronounce it properly. John just hated fruit smoothies, unless they had lots of sweet yoghurt in them, he was just like that.

"Couldn't pronounce it," Colbie said with a silly grin on her face, "sounded... exotic?Hmmm" she tapped her chin "no that isn't the word, anyway point being I wanted to try something different... though I think next time I'm just going to stick with the safe stuff, new rule, anything I can't pronounce, I'm not drinking."
She looked down at the pink liquid, "I mean come on... what even is in this thing?" The more possible answers Colbie came up with the less she wanted anymore to do with the drink, she set it on the table that her tote bag was sitting under.

Taking a quick glance around the room, he saw that most of the people had busied themselves with something else entirely. ”I don’t think anyone can pronounce it. I’d be very impressed if they could.” Exotic was probably the right way to describe it, the thing didn’t look normal after all, so he didn’t think it was any normal drink, not even a natural fruit smoothie or something. Not that they often tasted any better, usually they were just as bad, hearing her new rule, he nodded in agreement, thinking that it was probably for the best. ”Want some coffee?” He asked, thinking that some people had a no caffeine rule, though that was silly, unless maybe you could be allergic or something to it.
He ran his fingers through his hair, looking at the pinky drink, letting his imagination conjure up some pretty grim stuff. Sometimes it was just a bad idea for him to use his imagination, though, not being human probably didn’t help, it just aided all the things he had seen before. Considering her appearance, since he had glanced into her direction. She was quite pretty, though if she ever asked, like anyone, he would say she was absolutely gorgeous, and be all over the top, peoples reactions to that was always funny, especially if they were straight guys. Colbie grinned, "no thank you, II was weeded off coffee when I was younger... mostly 'cause I was addicted to it at the age of seven." She smiled widely remembering the coffee she would get at local shops, the church then had to deal with her over hyper self for hours afterword. They tried many different methods to get her off of it, from adding spices to her coffee's but eventually just replaced it with hot chocolate.
Colbie knew now that she was nineteen could probably retain the energy the coffee would give her, but somehow even after leaving the Church she didn't want to completely go against it... besides all she could think of when she heard coffee was the time one of the nuns put two teaspoons of oregeno in it.

Luckily coffee didn’t do anything like that for him, so he drank it quite often, though he could probably cope without it if need be. Fizzy drinks, like red bull, usually made him far more hyper, though at his age, he found it easier to keep that energy sort of long term, instead of running around like a lunatic for no good reason. Considering his age, it probably would have looked very weird anyway, if he had gone to go crazy and loopy like a kid. His sister as a child, had always been the more sensible and calmer one out of the two of them, that wasn’t the same now though.
He took a sip of his hot and steaming coffee, thankful that it wasn’t actually hot enough to burn his tongue, which would have been an unfortunate thing anyway. ”I’m John by the way.” He said to her with a playful grin, switching the cup to his other hand, and putting out his free one for her to shake. Maybe in a minute, he might introduce his sister as well, it would explain who she was, and why she had acted so like that towards him.

Colbie noticed one of her books on the paranormal had slid half way out of her tote bag, she pushed it back in with the tip of her velcro red and black RocketDog shoes. As a child she never seemed to have her laces tied which was the cause of many of her accidents. Now she stuck to zippered or belted boots, or elastic or velcro shoes.
She smiled as John introduced himself, she took his hand in hers. She noticed then that her multicoloured nailpolish was chipped, and should be redone. She also took notice that her silver ring with a onyx stone had spun the opposite way. "My name's Colbie." She replied with a grin.

He glanced briefly down as he saw one of her books slide out a little, he immediately caught what it was, and made a self note to be careful. She could just be interested innocently in the paranormal, or maybe a little less innocently, you could hardly tell with people. It wouldn’t stop him from being friendly and getting to know her though, wasn’t like she would ever be able to work out that he was a werewolf anyway, ridiculous to even think about that. Though he was wearing black boots, they were laced up, and kind of neat really, that was one thing sometimes people noticed about John, he was just about always perfect, never a hair out of place.
Not on the prowl for noticing things, he didn’t notice anything else as she shook his hand, still grinning like a cutie. ”The girl that was with me a little while ago was my sister, Amber. Sometimes she’s such a pain in the ass.” Pouting a little after his words, he relaxed further back into the sofa, crossing his arms in front of his chest and crossing one leg over the other, wondering whether his sister had gone straight home or not. She had probably done that, since she had taken his keys, or she had gone out on a shopping spree, which he always paid for of course. Not that he minded that much to be honest.

Colbie noticed John's eyes followed the book back into the tote bag. She gave a nervous smile, "I know weird, yeah?" She could feel the heat rising to her face and she knew she was blushing, she bowed her head letting her hair fall in her face hoping it covered her embarasment.
"Well you seem to take care of the situtation with your sister well. I wouldn't have held up as well as you did." She could feel her her cheeks cooling and she figured it safe to look back up at John.

Doing a double bluff would probably be the safest thing, after all, it would be typical for someone who actually wasn’t your regular human to spook about this stuff. When she said something, he grinned, not looking like he thought it was weird, he had a first class experience of this kind of thing after all. He supressed a giggle as she started to blush, then attempted to cover it up with her hair, he had to use that some time.
Running his fingers through his hair, he took another sip of his coffee, noticing that it had cooled down quite a bit, which meant that he could drink it quicker now without risking burning his tongue. “Well maybe, she’ll have spent all the money I gave her. She’s like that.” He said it without the slightest bit of malice in his voice, though, as one would expect, it could be very annoying for virtually all of his money to be spent all the time on any old things. Lilith Harpur walked into Starbucks, almost looking she was on a mission or something. With purse in hand; she strode on up to the counter and ordered a coffee. She has a few hours to kill, before she goes to work at Macy's. As she was waiting for her coffee, she began playing with her necklace. She glanced all around the room, looking for a place to sit. Lilith spotted a couch, not far from Colbie and John.
She gave a warm smile, as she then paid the lady behind the counter for her coffee. When the lady handed it to her, Lilith went and sat down on the open couch. She was wearing a red long-sleeved shirt and black slacks. Lilith lightly blew on her steaming cup of coffee, before she took a sip.
