It had been over a hundred years since Dakota had set foot in Hollywood, it had never been her favorite city but it was even less so with all the changes. Sure it was interesting for a once in a hundred years visit but she could never live there. Kota personally much preferred places like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City, they just interested her more. But she found herself craving something different, something out of the ordinary for herself. So after spending a week in New York City she took a quick night flight over to Hollywood, slept the day away and then got up ready to party.
She dressed in a black shirt with an interesting but indistinguishable design, short red skirt, mesh stockings and a little less than knee high stiletto boots with her black hair hanging elegantly around her face. Completely dressed, Kota headed out, determined to find a good bar in the area. That was the downside of taking sudden trips to places you haven't been to in centuries, your not sure where anything is anymore.
As soon as she left the hotel she was staying in she could feel the stares of both men and women as she walked by. She loved the attention though, simply basking in it, a small smirk falling easily to her lips. Seeing a rather attractive young woman simply staring at Kota, the vampire went over and asked for directions to the best bar in the area. The woman, though doubting Dakota was old enough to be drinking led the way to the bar. The young looking woman gave her guide a kiss on the cheek and thanked her before heading into the bar.
Kota walked over to the rather attractive bartender and smiled flirtatiously at him. "Hello darling, think I could get a tequila sunrise?" The bartender, either not caring how old Dakota was or believing she was old enough to drink went to make it for her. As she waited she turned in her seat, leaning against the counter as she loooked around the bar, trying to pick out the cutest guy or girl to flirt with. The bartender soon came back with her drink and Kota took it gratefully, paying him before going back to surveying the slightly crowded bar this time while sipping from her drink.

Hollywood. This was the first time Lars had ever been on the west coast. It was different, the atmosphere, the people, nearly everything. He was sure he proffered the east coast over the sunny rays of California. But it had its perks, like the endless amount of clubs and bars in the celebrity town. He hadn't settled in since he arrived, only found a near shady spot to spend the day in until the night life arose.
Dressed in dark denim, white shirt, and a black suit like coat that he'd worn around enough so it wasn't pristine, but good enough for Hollywood, Lars walked along the lit up streets, strangely enough, without a cigarette in hand. He dreg he would attempt to cut down for the short time he was here, the were costly those things.
He felt the slight dryness in his lips and decided to quench it by going into the nearest bar. On his way in he thought about what kind of bar he'd be in, who know, he could have accidentally ventured into a Harley Heaven. But instead he found himself in a nice contemporary bar with light fixtures and all sort s of random people drinking align with some mainstream music going along softly with the murmur of voices.
Lars walked up to the polished bar and leaned against it balancing himself on his arms letting his upper body fall over it a bit while his lower body raised off the ground. The bar tender caught notice and came over to him close enough so that he fell back to his feet and requested his forty from the waiter. The man brought back his bottle and Lars took it with a nod as he sat down on one of the cushioned stools next to a young girl. He was close enough to be able to smell no running blood in her, close enough to hear no heartbeat. He wasn't at all surprised though, there were many more of his kind than he thought, she was just the first in Hollywood.

After only a few moments of surveying the bar her eyes were caught by a shapely woman, a human in her early twenties. Kota watched the woman for a moment before her attention was caught by a man walking over to the bar. It only took her a second to recognize him as a vampire, in the centuries she had been alive she had toned her sense of smell to be able to immediatly pick out another vampire. It was useful to know who was of her own kind in case she would prefer the company of someone who knew what she was as opposed to someone who was blissfully ignorant.
When he sat down next to her, Dakota turned her body slightly to face him, surveying his face for a moment. He was attractive, probably not someone she'd pick out of a crowded room but at the moment she simply wanted to talk to someone of her own kind. "It's interesting that everywhere I've gone in this city I seem to run into another vampire. I was wondering how long it would take for one of our kind to show up." The words were soft so that only the man sitting next to her could hear and they were meant in more of an ironic tone than anything else.
She was intruiged by the man sitting next to her, he seemed young by human and vampire standards. She hadn't met many young vampires recently, she tended to speak with century old vampires, they could better understand the pains of living through so many centuries. Kota partly missed being a mentor to young vampires though, it had formally been a good use of her time but recently she had just stopped caring. She hadn't had anyone to help her except her sire when she had been turned, why she should help others? It was still interesting to talk to young vampires though and she was feeling a bit more adventurous than she normally did.

Lars turned in the swiveling seat an inch so he faced the girl a little bit better. He shrugged as he swallowed the drink down, "I've only been here a little while, you're the first I've seen."
He'd always seemed to run into vampires on his journeys to different parts of the world. Big cities especially. It seemed they flourished more than humans themselves. Either that or vampires were just attracted more to each other and always met up somehow.
The girl was dressed up Nicole with a similar painted up face. She looked older than him, just by her face, it seemed as though she'd seen more than he had. He was probably right, he had yet to meet a vampire younger than he.
"Lars", he said introducing himself as he held out his hand to the vampire in front of him. He'd always been conscious of introducing himself somehow, he had no idea why it was.

The young looking woman sipped from her drink as she watched the young man in front of her, smiling lightly at him. It had been a while since she was in such a genuinely pleasant mood though maybe it was only the alcohol or her extreme boredom. "Really? I picked out at least twenty just while walking her," she replied lightly with a small, delicate laugh.
Kota reached a hand up to push a lock of hair behind her ear, her hair was always falling into her eyes when it was down and sometimes got annoying. The cut and color of the hair perfectly situated her face though and made her green eyes more noticeable. Yes that was how vain Dakota was, she would do basically anything to make herself look more attractive.
As the young man introduced himself and extended his hand to her, the young vampiress smiled politely and took his hand gently in her own. "I am Dakota," she replied with a small incline of her head to him. If she had been standing she probably would have curtsied, something that always showed her age when first meeting someone. It was a habit she had been taught at childhood and one that she had never been able to break, much to her annoyance.
