She sat there, her brunette hair waving in the wind, her vibrant pink streaks in her hair was the only thing that stood out. She was in a black tight fitting tank top with lace on the bottom, and black jeans that were a bit too big. All black accessories, like the chandelier earrings that jingled, a long black chained necklace with her mother's cross hanging from the end. She stared down at it long for any sense of familiarity. Even though familiarity was unfamiliar.
She had decided to go to Hollywood. Why? Because the tiny store she worked at shut down. Which meant she couldn't have the apartment that stood over top of it. So in her mind, why not see the world?
Of course Colbie hadn't thougth about the lack of money she had. She ignored her horrible sense of direction. Even with the map in her hand she couldn't detect what why was which. She sniffed, not the air, but because she was crying. She wiped the tears as they fell. People passed by her, ignoring her like she was homeless on the street, a punk teenager. Who cared?
Colbie hunched over herself looking at the map she was sitting down (on the edge of the sidewalk) looking at, she wiped the tears momentarily from her eyes. She studied it trying to find out where her hotel was, she tried flipping it. Fustration waved over her. She was terrible with maps. She bit her lip hard trying to will the tears to stop.

Strange how the sights and smells of this ever busy city was becoming more and more familiar to Kokia. Continuously cloaked in the evening stars and the busy flashing lights of Hollywood, Kia felt the need to research these creatures known as "Vampires." Perhaps it was because she grew up in a village of all female werewolves who considered everyone family, but Kia did not really see any true threat from the Kindred race.
However, she was well familiar with those of The Bane; creatures who claim to be of her own race that kill for the sake of killing and bathe themselves in the blood of humans and Kindred alike. Their twisted hopes in creating a "Utopia" filled with nothing but werewolves where they could feast on human flesh.
She rounded the corner, adjusting the collar of her jacket as Kia balled her hands in fists in the pockets. The people passed by, oblivious to the world around him. The tiniest of smirks formed on Kokia's lips as she realized that she could probably annihilate half the block before someone quirked an eyebrow.
The human world was truly pathetic sometimes...
Suddenly, Kia's ever alert ears picked up the sound of distressed snifflings nearby. Pausing in her steps, Kokia took four solid steps back before she was parallel to a girl crouching on the sidewalk with a map at her feet. Her shocking pink streaked hair against her dark tresses only made the she-wolf quirk her own brow. The scent of death cloaked this girl; she was beginning to adjust herself to knowing that this was what separated a Kindred from the rest of the living world.
Debating on leaving the girl there in hopes of avoiding conflict (Kia had gotten into two fights in the past week with vampires because of this blasted war she kept hearing about), but didn't quite have the heart to just leave a poor, defenseless girl out on the streets so late at night. It was obvious she was lost.
Kia's cerulean orbs searched the semi-clouded sky in search of what phase the moon was in...
It was the last quarter...
The she-wolf quirked a brow as she peered over the young female's shoulder curiously. She saw a building circled in black permanent ink and Kia bit her lower lip in order to keep herself from laughing outright. "Lost are you?" Kia inquired as she took her seat next to the girl, took up the map in her hands and folded it out so she could get a better look. "You know this place is just three blocks over, right?"

"Really!" Colbie said, her teared up eyes grew big with excitement. Finally she could get to the hotel. She had been worried about being caught in the sunrise still searching. Burning in to ash was defiantly the top, and nearly only fear she had. Three blocks, that way. Those were directions even the directionally challenged Colbie could follow.
A smile lit up her mascara stained face, that was just the way she was, happy. Well most of the time, when the prospect of being burnt alive came up- defiantly not a happy moment.
"Thank you so much!" She said enthusiastically. Everything Colbie did was enthusiastic. Finally relaxed knowing she could easily make it to her hotel in the time allotted she smelt the air. Beyond the fumes from cars, the scent of hot-dogs from a street vendor, and the tobacco the man walking by was smoking she could smell the earthy scent of the girl, and knew. She was a werewolf.
It had been a long time since she had seen a werewolf. She wondered what Amarant was up to these days, so long with out contact; another lost friend. That girl was the only werewolf she had ever met, she had no personal quarrel with wolves, in fact the one she knew she quite liked. "I'm Colbie Mastriani by the way, who might you be?" She asked extending her hand gracefully.

It was strange how this girl's mood took a complete 180 degrees. But, Kia supposed that that was to be determined as a good thing. The she-wolf wasn't quite fond of tears; not that it was a representation of weakness...but a demonstration of one's sadness.
-Oh enough with that rubbish, Kia...- she reprimanded to herself as she shrugged and handed the map back to the girl who looked quite relieved. -You're starting to sound like those old biddies back at Greek tribe.-
The female vampire curiously gazed at Kia for a moment, as if trying to (unintentionally) size her up in a measure. Not that it actually bothered her, but hey, what was new? Kokia had been sizing up just about every living and undead thing walking the rest of the world outside of her own village. Who was she to talk?
At hearing the girl's introduction (and on a pleasant note, no doubt), Kia only cocked her head to the side before she accepted the vampire's hand. Colbie was her name, apparently. She smirked and tossed a bit of her black hair away from her deep blue eyes. "I'm Kokia Luxin, but you can call me Kia." replied the she-wolf before she lifted the girl up onto her feet and handed her a handkerchief from her pocket to wipe her eyes. "It's getting dangerously close to daybreak...do you need me to escort you back to your hotel?"

Colbie smiled brightly, "it would be greatly appreciated, as you must have already suspected my directional campus doesn't have a needle." She rocked on her feet, a habitual thing, she scooped her small duffle bag off the street.
The street lights illuminated her world, she was one never to see the sun again. And with her pale complection, she'd never been a big fan anyways, she always burned.
"It is this way right?" She questioned, she was pretty sure that the girl had told her that only minutes before. Colbie pushed her long bangs back from her dark hazel eyes, people who didn't look close would assume they were brown.

Kia only smirked as the girl commented on her directional compass, or lack thereof. Poor thing. It wasn't an auspicious thing to get lost around parts one didn't know the area to. The least that Kia could do was help her find her way...even if she was a part of the undead realm.
Not that this bothered her.
When asked if that was the right direction, Kokia shook her head and smirked, pointing her thumb over her shoulder. "No, it's this way." she said, shrugging and tilting her head to the side as the gentle evening breeze touched her jet banes. "Wow, your sense of direction really is bad. Good thing I came along when I did, right?"
Kia then gestured with her head for the girl to follow her before walking in step with the young female. "So, what are you doing out here by yourself in the first place? It's dangerous, what with bastards and drunks running around."

Colbie hit her head to her hand, "damn it, I would have been the left overs of a bonfire if you hadn't come around," she said with a laugh. When Kia asked about the dangers of drunks her laughter rang loud echoing in the darkness of the alleyways, when she finally calmed down she just smiled wide and pointed to her teeth, "with teeth like this, and super strenth I'm not too worried about stumbling, word slurring, drunks. Besides, I can out run them if worse comes to worse." If they were werewolves or a fellow vampire she could be in trouble. She wasn't exsactly a fighter. Or trained. And she had been a vampire for less than a year.
She thought about why she was here and frowned slightly, her eyebrows drawing closer, "I got fired, really I should have expected it, a vampire running a paranormal book store... please feel free to laugh, everyone does. I was running it when I was still human; kept it up in night hours as much as I could... but with out daylight hours it couldn't compete. Lost my appartment. So... figured i'd travel a little... got no where else to go... so just kind of wandering... though.. I shouldn't be out so early. The morning sun will be here soon." Colbie inwardly cringed. The sun, what a terrifying thought. "So what are you doing here? You live around here?"

Kia only smirked as the girl pointed at her teeth. Well, Vampire she may be, but had Kia been a rough-houser looking for trouble, there's no way this female would have stood a chance. Kokia was born and bred to fight. This young lady, however, was not.
When she explained her predicament in regards to the bookstore, Kia only shrugged. She didn't see it as anything to be amused about. She owned a book store and couldn't keep it up because daylight hours are what helped run a place like that. Since being turned, Kia knew it was a matter of time before it would get shut down.
A teasing smile played on her lips. "Maybe you should invest in more night life activities...open up a bar or something." she said, running a hand through her hair. "I'd be a regular customer."
The girl then asked why it was the she-wolf was out and about and what her purpose was in this place. Kia only smiled as her cerulean eyes narrowed in thought. "Yeah, I guess you could say I live around here. I'm a bounty hunter so it's my job to look around for criminals. They do most of their prowling in the evening hours."
They rounded another corner on the block. Only two more blocks to go before reaching the vampire's hotel.

Colbie was intriqued... a bounty hunter- that seemed like a dangerous job, also one of convienience for people like them. The perks of being what they are would make the job easy when it was against humans.
"Hmm, in that case I bet you could woop my ass if you were one of those hostile werewolves i've heard about." Colbie said thoughtfully, she wasn't much for lying-there was no way she could keep up in a fight, sure she could fight, but she fought dirty, any way to make sure she got out in one peice. But she avoided fighting when ever she could. Colbie was honest, brutally honest at times- not even realizing when she was.
"A bar, i'm not much for the whole flipping bottles and serving crowds. I'm pretty sure I'd break more than I'd make," she admitted sheepishly. Some of the lights on the street were out, the sun would be up soon. Goosebumps crawled upon her skin as the last of the night air clung to her.
She realized they were only a few blocks away which put her at ease, the whole bursting into flames may sound like a cool movie effect, but when it was the startiling reality of your existence it was down right terrifying.

Kia chuckled. "Well I won't deny that I'm good at what I do." she stated, pulling Colbie to the side just as another passerby decided to take it upon himself not to dodge. "But that's because I was bred to be a fighter. I wouldn't wish that kind of life on anyone; human, werewolf, or vampire alike."
When Colbie mentioned breaking more than she would sell in regards to a bar, Kokia only smirked while releasing the girl's arm. The she-wolf shrugged. "Eh, don't be so hard on yourself. You'll find you're calling I'm sure."
They made it down another block as the street lights started to go out. If they didn't hurry, the early rays of dawn would soon spread across the boulevard and then the whole world would be witness to a girl spontaneously combusting right beside her. Kia didn't want to have to explain that little scene to anyone.
The rest of the walk was pleasant, but hurried. Kokia had to get the girl back to her hotel. As they rounded the next corner, Kia saw the building and smiled while pointing. "Your place of residence is right there. I assume you can make it there before you become a roasted marshmallow?" the she-wolf teased.

Colbie listened intentivly, and wobbled unbalanced for a split second as Kia moved her out of the way of a passerby. "If anyone asks, i'm a track star," Colbie said grinning, "thank you for all of your help," Colbie wanted to say more, but the sun and inpending death decided that someday, she would speak to the girl again. Perhaps thank her more properly.
Colbie spun on her heal, for someone as accident prone as her she did it with grace and took of into a sprint, a streak of black, brown and pink and she was out of sight and into safety. She hurried into her room to shut the blinds before her room was nothing but a death trap. She smiled as she sat down, "I hope to see you again Kia," she said to herself, a little sleepy she fell to sleep on the couch.

Kia chuckled lightly at the girl's response. So, a track star is what she would be. Well, if that were the case (which Kokia highly doubted), then god-speed with her. Hopefully the two would meet each other again someday.
As she watched the girl enter the hotel, Kia shoved her own hands into her pockets once more and shrugged, glaring at another lecher (this time a werewolf) who was ogling in her general direction. Her cerulean orbs narrowed angrily as she flipped him off. "What the hell are YOU staring at?! You wanna piece of this?"
A low growl emanated from the male's throat before he shrugged and sauntered off into the brush away from her. With a satisfied grunt, Kia tossed a bit of her raven hair from her brow before turning on her heels to walk back to her own apartment. "Didn't think so...jackass." [OOC: And I think this thread is closed now! Woot]
