Ali was walking in the forest of New Orleans. She had been here only a few days and already she had run into a few people. Some of her own kind and one werewolf. Of course there had been humans. When was there not? But she didn't think about that as she walked. She kicked up leaves as she paced along. It was a gorgeous night and the moon wasn't full so she didn't have to worry.
As she continued on she got a sudden itch to climb a tree. So she stopped in her tracks and looked around slightly until she found the perfect one. It was the tallest one around and the branches started low. This would be an easy climb but the thrill would still be there. She took off her coat and placed it at the base of the trunk and the jumped up so she could catch on to the branch.
From there she pulled her body up so she was standing on the branch itself and launched herself to the next one. It didn't take her long before she fell into a silent pattern. Jump, pull, stand and repeat. When she reached the top she could see the city and she had to smile, her fangs exposed.

From inside the hallows of his den. Jason Talbane had been in werewolf form for but a couple of hours. When he heard a few twigs snap, and the rustling of leaves from outside his den. curious as to who, or how someone stumbled apone his lair. Jason began to stalk his query. Keeping his distance, and making sure his M79 was secured to his hip. noticing something that looked human roaming through the forest. Thinking he should not reveal himself until the intentions of this person are known. Watching as this human playfully strolling and kicked leaves throughout the forest. It was obvious that it was out for a mid-night stroll. At any case it could be a trap from the humans who have hunted for him before.
Unable to resist he had to move in closer hopping from tree to tree. The human was female! Studying her from a distance still. Watching as she laid her coat on the cool earth. She began to climb the tallest tree with exceptional skill. Talbane then followed her up. Looking, observing her actions as well as her movements. The tree wasn't tall enough, but for certain he knew she wasn't a mere human when she stopped. brandishing her fangs. It was a vampire!
quickly sliding down the tree with his claws. avoiding limbs, and branches Talbane then reaches the cool earth. approaching the coat she laid on the ground. scooping it over his shoulder Talbane followed her path to the top of the tree. reaching the highest branch right behind her. Talbane lets out a whimper setting the coat on the branch sniffing it twice, and nuzzling her coat to her feet.

Ali had been standing on the top branch and just staring at the city when she felt the tree move and then felt something behind her. She spun around quickly, ready for danger, and thats when she saw the wolf standing there. But then she smelt the scent and she couldn't mistake it now. He was a werewolf. She swallowed a little bit of fear down and hoped he was friendly. The one she had met before had been and so she had high hopes this one would be to.
Her thoughts were more or less confirmed when she saw he had her coat. He placed it at her feet and whimpered and she was a little taken a back. She hadnt been expecting that at all. She kept her eyes on him as she picked up her coat and put it back on, covering her shoulders. Not that it would make a difference to her cold skin. She didnt know what to say but she tried to think of something. The other werewolf she had met hadnt been changed already.
She lowered herself down to the branch so she was sitting slowly and said to him, "Umm. Thanks. Thats kind of you." She kept her legs off the side and away from the trunk though. If she needed to jump down to the ground and run she could do it in a flash. But she had a feeling he was kind. She didnt know how or why she thought this, but she just did.

Watching the vampire, and hearing her soft spoken words. Talbane looked deep into her eyes tensely. Studying her movements she was just as scared of him as he was of her. Oddly enough Talbane lets out a slight chuckle. It was the vampire he had met the night before, but she seemed uneasy. She didn't recognize him.
Slowly moving in closer as she knelt down. Smiling brandishing a full set of sharp teeth. Talbane digging his claws into the branch. Inches forward, and licks her on the hand. Then shaking his head back and forth the slight rattle of dog tags rang throughout the cool nights air. Sniffing, nuzzling, pushing her back to the base of the tree so she could have something to lean her back against. Talbane rests his head in her lap, and licks her hand. Nuzzling her hand over his head in a playful manner to be petted.
After a few moments pass Talbane turns back to human form, and greets warmly "Your welcome". Then asks "What brings your to this neck of the woods so at night?" Looking into her eyes, and then off to the city in the distance.

Ali smiled kindly at him and was amused by his playful manner. She had been proven right so far. He was kind and didnt seem to want to hurt her. She was a little startled as she was pushed to the base of the tree. She wasnt expecting him to nuzzle and lick her face. She was doubly surprised when he nuzzled her hand in her lap, wanting to be petted. He was just like a puppy that she wondered if he played fetch.
Then she smiled kindly as he changed back to his human form. She nodded her head to him and then tilted her head to the side as he asked a question. "Well. When you cant walk around during the day, the night time is all thats left. So you get out as much as you can. And I love the woods. One of my favorite hobbies is climbing tree's."
She then stopped herself and blushed slightly. She realized that she had just been about to rant on and on. She always did that and it scared people away. Thats why she didnt have that many friends. They didnt take the time to actually listen to what she had to say. She was mostly calm and collected but when she did talk she wished people had enough sense to listen.

Listening to her closely maintaining eye contact. Talbane hung on her every word. Dazed for a moment when she stopped talking. Replying "Yes. I can tell I've been watching you all night." Pausing for a moment after wards thinking how weird it must sound. Then immediately replying "climbing trees is fun i enjoy it as well, but you wanna know what's better?" Talbane turning back into a werewolf raising his front paws for her to stand. nuzzling her chin till she has no choice but to do so. Then getting down low in a prancing slightly back and forth. wanting the vampire to climb on his back.
She gently sits down In the middle of his back holding on gently to his fur coat from his sides. As Talbane the excitedly jumps back and forth, and off the tree branch. the digging his claws into the tree, and kicking off flipping the two of them to the ground. Talbane feels safe with this one carrying her to his den. At least then she'll be safe away from the sun's light when it does decide to raise. Arriving at the lair door of the towns reclusive hunter Jason Talbane. He hops gently letting her off his back, and turning into human form once again. Opening the door he says softly "hope you enjoyed the ride, and if you would like to talk it would be safer in here." Tapping his head slightly and grinning .. "My fault where are my manners. I'm Jason Talbane a local hunter for the towns folk around here." holding his hand out in greetings.
Entering the den Ali noticed small lanterns that light the way through out the hollowed out cave. chairs fashioned from logs, and covered with hides from various animals for more comfort. a roaring fireplace crafted from fine stone with a stove on top in the center of the room. a small covered pit lays beside the fireplace, but there is smoke coming from it. various hides hanging from the walls as if their ready to sell. Various daggers as well as other weapons crafts from metal, stone, and bones of various animals previously hunted in the local area. To the far right there is a hole with four ropes fashioned out of vines. The sound of rushing water can be heard from it. By the hole is a door with traces of steam coming from it's cracks. To the far left is a book shelf with a picture frame resting on it's front with a wire attached. Below the frame is a sign "In Memory of my fallen comrades. OEF '03 DO NOT TOUCH." Beside the bookshelf on to the right is a door dim lighting echos from underneath it's cracks. Jason pulls up a chair by the table by the fireplace, and begins sipping water from a cup made of pewter. "My home is your home. What do you think? Have a seat. would you like anything to drink or eat? Maybe just talk? I already made sleeping arrangements for you if you would like to stay.." Trailing off Jason looks to Ali.

((-pokes- Not so much godmoding. lol))
Ali's eyes widened as he changed back into a werewolf and then forced up to her feet. But she listened quietly to what he was saying and she wondered what was going through his mind when he told her there was a hobby even more fun then climbing tree's. Then the next thing she knew she was on his back and off they went. She barely had time to think as they sprinted through the forest and back to his den. She just blinked slightly and then slid off his back when he stopped. She followed him inside and smiled at him as he told her his name. "Im Ali Shadings."
As she entered in she glanced around his home and was smiling gently. He had a nice place and it was dark and cozy. She felt safe and at ease as she wansered around. She stopped and looked at him as he trailed off in his sentence and smiled. "I would love to talk. No one ever talks to me. And for staying, sure. I have no where to go at the moment. And the sun will be up soon. I cant be outside." She told him.
She walked over to the bookshelf with the picture frame and read the words softly to herself and wondered what had happened. And she listened to it and didnt touch. She let her gaze wander to other things like the furs and the room itself. It really was nice. She took off her coat again and drapped it over her arm gently and breathed in the scents. It had the definant smell of wolf and meat and also the forest and wet. The smells werent bad. She enjoyed any smell.

(( *Jousts* I'm a young werewolf in my prime. Plus I'm playful by nature actions do speak loader than words after all, but i gotcha.))
Looks at Ali as she examines the den. Noticing she stopped at the picture for a moment, but did not touch it brings a great sigh of relief. Softly answering her thought before they could be spoken "their dead". Thinking to himself he does not wish to go into great detail about it. "You have to forgive my manners. not too often i get guests." Talbane leaves his chair, and pulls one up for Ali to have a seat in. Looks to Ali, and listens attentively to anything she wishes to say. Wondering where she came from, her past life, anything she was willing to talk about he was willing to listen.
Later on opening the door to the right of the book case. reveling a simple bed fashioned from wood, and pine straw wrapped in the hides of various animals. With a single lantern burning. Over the bed hangs a bag of tennis balls. "This is where you can rest until nightfall Ali." Several pelts rest at the foot of the bed. Turning back to Ali smiling slightly "You are welcome to stay as long as you would like."

Ali looked back to him as he explained that the people in the picture were dead. Her eyes filled with sadness and she said, "Im sorry. Loosing friends is hard." She then turned back to the bookshelf and looked over the picture again. She sighed slightly and then went over to the chair he brought out. She also noticed the bed and smiled. "Thank you. Ill stay the one day. I dont want to be a burden. And I have a place here. I just wont have any time to get there now."
She shrugged slightly and sighed once more and then turned her dark eyes to him. She knew he was lonely a lot and wanted company. She could just tell. It was just like Landon. He just needed a friend. Why did her kind always mistake these poor friends as enemies. All the werewolves she had met were kind. And she couldn't image Jason or her other friend Landon attacking anyone for fun of the cruelty. It just seemed wrong to her. But that was her kind side kicking in. She couldnt hate anybody.
She folded her pale hands in her lap and looked at him kindly and with ease she said to him, "You have a nice place. And once again, thank you for letting me stay." She then cleared her throat and added, "I know you have questions for me. Go ahead and ask. I wont mind. I like answering questions." And it was true. She didnt mind qustions at all.
((-hugs Jason- Good boy^^))

Looking to Ali as she says her kind words about losing friends. "It's OK it's the past, and nothing can change that." Following her eyes as as she takes a seat. thinking to himself at least she's comfortable. Glancing over his shoulder as Ali talks about having a place, and having no time to make it back. "Your not a burden by all means... Friend." Jason says grinning slightly. "your welcome. when and If you do leave please come back to visit." Jason sits at the chair in front of her looking at her dark eyes as the flames from the fire dance around in them.
"So you live near by? Do you belong to a master? How old are you exactly?" Taking a sip of water Jason maintains eye contact. "What about your former life? Do you miss it?" He listens attentively while getting out of his chair walking behind Ali. Placing his hand on her right shoulder, and jolting back. "Your cold!" he exclaims. "To be honest this is the closest I've gotten to your kind. No offense." Taking another sip of water. crouching down beside Ali. "Where exactly have you been? Do you travel?" Jason listens to Ali till he hears the sounds of the morning lark.
"It's time for us to move." Extending his hand to Ali to lead her into the mid sized bedroom. Thinking to himself to reinforce the main door so sunlight won't come through. Jason then closes the bedroom door once Ali is inside. "I'll fix the door so light cannot get through, but it's safe for you to stay in here till I do." Taking a few pelts, and setting them on the bed. Then spreading a few out at the foot of the bed. "The bed is yours, and I'm sure no one can find us. Just in case I'll stay up and watch over you. If you wake up and decide to enter the main room. I'll reinforce the main door. Also I'll check to make sure if it's day or night for you. I don't have any clocks around here really." Lays on the fur pelts at the foot of the bed.
(( -Licks Ali's face- Goodnight ))

Ali smiled at him gently as he watched her. She still was sad about his friends, but he was right. The past was the past. She glanced at the fire as he asked some questions and she smiled broader. He was so full of questions and she had answers to all of them. But she first wanted to tell him she would of course come back. "Ill come visit. Its not nice to leave a friend alone." She chuckled and then folded her hands in her lap and started answering his questions.
"Yes. I live nearby. I have another friend thats a werewolf and he helped me reserve a place in a hotel. And no. I dont belong to a master. Im free to do as I want. No chains attached." She told him to answer his questions. "For my age, Im 21, almost 22. But I have only been a vampire for five years. So im still new to this. And yes, the cold skin is part of it." She sighed slightly and looked down at the floor. "I do miss my old life. I miss the sun...." She told him.
She looked back over to him as he mentioned she was the closet he had been to a vampire. "I can see why. Lots of my kind are cruel and dont like your kind. But I like werewolves. I havent met one that has not been friendly to me. So I see no point in hating them. And thats another reason I travel. I dont like staying one spot for to long and traveling heps with that. I do miss the friends I make along the way though."
Ali heard the lark as well and she glanced toward the entrance as some light came in. She was far enough back though that she didnt have to worry. She looked at him gently and said, "Its all right. You have the bed. I dont sleep much. Dont really need it. And Ill be able to tell when it gets dark. Even now I can feel the heat on my skin and smell it outside. The night time is cooler and smells fresh."
((Hey. Im going to be gone from the 3rd-7th. Vacation. Once i get back ill post))

Jason listens to every answer to his questions. Considering that she was not going to sleep. "If your not going to get any rest neither am I. It just wouldn't be proper of a host to leave their guest alone." Grabbing the bag of tennis balls that hung over his bed, and closing the door. "wanna play fetch?" He asks in a calm soothing voice with a smile forming on the right side of his face. Thinking back to Ali missing the feel of the sun, and being cold. "Or we could just sit in front of the fireplace and talk..." Wondering if she could feel the heat coming off the fire.
As Jason sets a pelt down in front of the fire place. "I've only been a werewolf for two years. I am tring to make the most of it. For the most part i just enjoy the extra energy. Leaping and bounding off of things. Running so fast till the wind whistles in my ears. It's all a rush for me." As he looks into the dancing flames placing another log on the fire. "It is good to know you at least don't have a master." Whispering under his breath "freedom."
Jason drifts off in his thoughts while looking into the fire for a moment. then looks to Ali. "So what's your place like?" Thinks of how wonderful it must be like in the city. Not worrying about the next full moon. "Your 21, but have been a vampire for 5 years. How old would you be In human years? Sorry for asking such a silly question. Just tring to grasp It all really." A great smile forms on Jason's face remembering his new friend would come back as fatigue finally takes him over he passes out By Ali's feet. He whispers " Wake me before you go."
