Ali was walking down the streets of Paris. This was her first time here and she was awe struck. It was all so very pretty. She loved bright lights though. It was one of her little weaknesses. Where she had been born she had been surrounded by bright lights. And so mostly when she traveled she went to bright, big cities that were heavily populated.
She didnt like to stay hidden away in remote areas like some vampires. She was a city girl at heart as well as a traveler and she wasnt going to change just because she was now immortal. That was some thoughts that always ran through her mind when she was alone. Which was almost always.
Ali came upon a vender though, selling pretzels and she couldnt help herself. She went over and bought one. She took a bite and then continued on her way, in an easy gate. She really did like Paris.

Patrick idly rubbed his arms, watching the swirl of crowds. He liked to people-watch; humans were so strange. Of course, they weren't really that different from himself...but they seemed like a completely different race sometimes. He smiled a bit to himself; silly thinking. Not like him, really, but it was an odd night.
A swirl in the crowd caught his attention and he stiffened, his eyes narrowing. Something off; he lifted his nose, sniffing, but he couldn't catch whatever it was that had put him on the alert. Too many people, too many varied and dizzying scents. Still...something.
He pushed off the wall, sliding through the crowd, still seeking that illusive scent. Suddenly something whizzed through the crowd, bouncing off of Patrick's hip. Thrown off-balance, he stumbled, growling. The 'thing' proved to be a yound child who gave him an irrepressible grin before dissapearing back into the crowd.

Ali glanced around her at the busy streets and all the humans running back and forth. She smiled slightly at the sight. She thought humans were amazing. Having been one not so long ago she somewhat envied them. She always had to watch the clock and make sure the sun wasnt about to rise. She hated not being able to see the sun.
But she pushed that hate aside. She would never let that dull emotion take her over. She had done to much hating back at home. So she planned to start over. Make a fresh start and not have to worry about people recognizing her. She also wanted to meet new people.
She took a slight step forward and then her body stiffened as the scent hit her. She turned her head to the right and then left looking for the source. It was a werewolfs scent and she didnt know why but she was nervous. She had no reason to be because from the three werewolves she had met, they were kind. But that dread feeling didnt leave.
With that in mind she slipped behind a lady and covered herself within the crowd of people. Maybe that would keep her from site until she could get away from here. She didnt know if the werewolf had seen her or not but she could try getting out of there.

When he straightened, Patrick finally caught the scent. Moving around, he came behind the vampire, his eyes narrowed. He tried to hide it, but the hatred bubbled in his veins every time he even smelled one of them.
He had to make sure she wasn't one he was hunting. If not, well...he'd probably leave her alone. After all, they were surrounded by humans. No sense in making a scene here. But if he'd come on her alone...
"Hunting, are we?" he asked, his voice low and tense. "Out to kill another helpless human?" He didn't know her at all, but he didn't care. In his eyes, all vampires were scum, no matter what. He'd never met a vampire who could change his mind, not that he gave them a chance to. "Murdering scum..." He snarled, not realizing how his hackles had risen, or how nasty he looked.

Ali had thought she was out of the danger zone when she felt a chill behind her. It was cold and she had a bad feeling the werewolf wasnt friendly. But she stopped in her tracks and tried to put on a calm face and she turned to look at him. She was surprised to find him glaring at her like she was scum. In fact...he called her scum. This was wonderful.
She folded her arms so he could see she had nothing in her hands and said in a calm voice, "Now now. Im not doing anything. And I dont hunt humans thank you very much." It was the honest truth. But every now and then she would snap. She couldnt help it. But she stayed away as best she could. And to her that was good enough. If he didnt buy it...that was his problem.
She sighed slightly and said, "Plus..im not hungry. Im out for a walk. Looking at the shops and lights. Planned to go to the chocolate store down the street. Normal things." She said. "You know...live a little...Since im doomed only to the night."

Patrick snarled at her, his eyes cold. "Hmm. Doomed, are you?" he asked, stepping a bit closer to him. All vampires killed; it was in their nature. They could pose and pretend and preach that they didn't hunt humans, but he knew that there wasn't one vampire who'd never killed a human before, and to him, that was intolerable.
"I could help you out with that." he said, his threat unmistakable. "After all, if you don't like being a vampire so much, I could make it so you weren't anymore." His hands tightened into fists; he knew he was going too far, but the hate was raging, and it was singing in his veins. He couldn't deny it anymore than the vampire could deny the throb of a human heart.

Ali's normally kind, dark eyes, narrowed and she glared with hatred at him. She could understand hate and she had some of it herself. But he was going to far. Some humans stopped slightly and looked at them both. He looked about ready to murder her and she was ready for the attack. Her own fists were balled up so tight her knuckles turned an even paler white.
"Oh ya? Well where were you five years ago dog!" She couldnt help yelling that back at him. When she had been fifteen and changed and then abandoned, all she wanted to do was die. It took her the longest amount of time to actually start living again. And here he was threatening to kill her. Now. When she didnt want death. "Im sorry but the offer to kill me has been taken off the table. Move on to a new bidder. Good bye." She told him and waved in a mock way.

"Five years ago?" He snarled, no longer caring about the crowd around them. "Five years ago I was still putting my pack back together after we were attacked for no reason by a couple of your kind!"
He took a deep breath and stepped back, forcing the rage back into it's normal ball. "You're all the same. Vampires...disgusting blood-drinking bastards. You're lucky; I don't want to cause a scene in this crowd. If we were alone..." he let the sentance trail off, his eyes snapping at her. "You make me sick."

Ali was glaring so hard at him she was afraid she would never be able to gentle her eyes out. This werewolf was just out for a fight and she didnt want that. But if she had to...she would protect herself. It was instinct to protect herself. And she was very positive that he wanted to kill her.
She listened to his story and her glare softened slightly. She could understand that was hard but his next comments made the darkness in her eyes return. Why was she even bothering feeling sorry for him? Its because its your nature... A voice in the back of her mind told her. She snapped at it to shut up.
"I cant believe you. Your more disgusting then me. You cant just blame ALL of us for a few of my kind. You dont even know me! Yes..some of us are cruel beyond belief and even I hate them. My creator abandoned me! I had a hard life and im not going to let some mangy mongrel ruin something actually happy for once happening to me! Your the worst werewolf I have ever met. And the other three I have met were kind!"

Patrick bristled; mangy mongrel? How dare she? "The other three you met were obviously stupid and blind to be willing to interact with something like...you." He snarled, his lips pulled back in a grimace. "And I blame you because all of your kind are the same, under the skin-murderers and souless creatures."
He took a step backward, his face cold. "Again, be lucky we met in a crowd-watch for me the next time you stalk in the darkness, because I'll most certainly be watching for you..."
He smiled, not a nice smile at all, and then turned away, slipping into the crowd without giving her a chance to respond.

Ali continued to glare at him. He must be a mongrel to think some of his own kind were stupid. And she wasnt going to stand there and take that from him. But befor she could even say anything he disappeared into the shadows and the crowd. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. This had turned out to be a wonderful night...
But she planned on getting home quickly now that there was a werewolf looking out for her. She didnt want to die either...so she would stay away from alleys and keep behind humans. They were the only thing protecting her. But she stayed there for a moment and looked at the lights. She sighed once more and added quietly, "Your wrong...we are not all the same." Then she melted into the crowd.
