Night
It was such a dark time. Just walking along the streets of Paris frightened Nina Bane to no end. The faces were hidden by the cloak of night, and she hated not being able to see the people she passed by. She was out late because of an art show she chose to attend. She had seen a flyer on a post and thought it would be a good idea. At the time, she didn’t think that she would be out until almost 11 at night. But she was safe, there were a lot of people in the area she was. The more people, the less likely something bad would happen to her.
Nina tightened her jacket around her body as her eyes darted back and forth between the faces that walked along side her and the opposite way of her footsteps. She didn’t like this feeling of the night being unsafe. All she wanted to do was get to the place she called home, lock the door, and escape into her own world. A world of canvas and paint.
Looking around, Nina realized she missed a turn somewhere and was now lost. Oh great, she thought to herself. Nina stopped where she was and moved to the side of the walkway so she wasn’t cutting anyone’s path off. Looking at her surrounding, she noticed that her apartment was at least 5 blocks the opposite way, if not more. A panic began to rise in her chest. Nina was normally a brave person, having grown up defending her own, but that was back in London. Paris was a whole new story. She just hoped she could get home safely. Nina began to back track on her steps, her eyes constantly on watch.

Sevanni had been watching her since the gallery show. He was a huge lover of art. Constantly on the prowl for new artists. Prey. The best dinner was an artistic one. He felt as though he could have been in Hannibal Lecters shoes when it came to eating humans. Had he been mortal, he very well could have.
He stood across the street, watching her as she looked back from where she came.
"Hmm. Must be lost."
He said to himself. His hands pulling on his gloves as he sensed a chill in the air. Drops began to form and press down onto the concrete. It was beginning to rain and there was no umbrella to shield his form.
She began to walk now. She passed by him on the opposing side of the street. He followed close by. His footsteps gliding over the ground as he moved in to catch up. She wasn't too far, but just far enough to not be detected.

There was that feeling again. That one of being…watched. Nina looked around her, but all she saw where people on their merry way. She sighed inwardly, the night really took a toll on her mind. The she felt it, the rain. Oh great, she thought, as the drops began to fall on her head. Just what she needed right now. Only a few more block, she thought to herself, then she could take a nice hot shower and relax…
What was that? All her nerves were standing on end right now. She was only a few buildings away from her own right now, but the whole way, every little noise spooked her. Nina told herself that she would never be going out this late ever again.
Walking up the stoop to the main door, Nina looked around her, that feeling of being watched back on her. She was now dripping wet and couldn’t wait to get out of these clothes. Her hand rested on the door knob, and when she saw nothing, she opened the door and continued to go and check her mail box, not noticing that someone was actually following her.

Sevanni looked up towards her. He knew how to act just like a mortal. Shivvering in the cold rain as it came down a bit faster and harder. He was soaking wet, just as she was. He took a few steps up.
"Hey. Wild out here huh? Raining out of nowhere?"
He smiled after wiping his face. Brushing some of the rain out of his hair.
"Forgot to take my key with me so I ran back before the cafe closes."
He looked at her like asking if she didn't mind. There was nothing that could have thrown her off. He looked like everyone else. Even his complextion had a hint of olive in it. He was next to her now, trying hard to step out of the rain. The sill above was large enough for the two.
The door she already opened, and his hand grasped the edge of it, pulling it more so he could step through.

She heard his voice but hadn’t heard him approach. Turning, Nina went to smile but fumbled over everything as she looked at the…the…god. OH boy, this guy was gorgeous. She could feel her eyes widen as she thought about how this man of perfection was talking to her. Shaking her head a bit, she got her smile out and simply nodded, answering his first question.
When he went to enter, something screamed danger in her mind, but she still couldn’t get over how handsome he was. Nina helped him push the door open more and stepped into the warm area of the small lobby. She shook some of the water of her body, hoping she didn’t look like a dog in front of him.
Finally, Nina found her voice. ”You...um…live here? It’s seems a bit…um…dingy for…you.” Nina blushed, looking away from the man, realizing she just assumed that this man was rich and all that. ”I’m sorry, I just assumed, I didn’t mean to…uh…” Nina tried to avoid looking at him because if she did, she wouldn’t be able to talk for sure.

Sevanni watched her shake the water off. He smiled before taking off his coat. Her words flying across the room towards him.
"Oh, don't worry. I uh..."
He chuckled.
"I get that alot. No, I actually stay here because it's closer to work."
He lied. He held out his arm to shake her hand.
"Kade Mitchell."
He lied again with a sinful smile. She was quite sexy drenched in rainwater. He couldn't help but stare for a brief moment. Suddenly he realized something. He needed to find a way to get inside her apartment.
"Hey uh, listen. I know you don't know me, but, since I don't have my keys....do you think I could use your phone to call a locksmith? Maybe wait for him to get here?"
He scrunched his face a little. Hoping that she would say yes and not have him impose on her life.

Rose walked down the stairs from her room and saw a girl on the stairs talking to some guy. "Vampire". She could tell from his scent. The girl looked worried. Rose sighed and walked over to the girl. "Hey! I've been looking for you all day. Don't you remember. It's girls night out."

Nina couldn’t help but smile back. Woah, his smile was…just woah. Nina, somewhere in the back of her mind, knew that she probably was being a complete idiot but she couldn’t control herself. This guy was inhumanly gorgeous. Nina looked down at his extended hand and lightly took it and shook.
”Uh…” Oh great, she forgot her name…what was it? Nina looked away from this Kade and suddenly her name came back to her. ”Nina…um…Nina Bane. It’s…dah nice to meet you Kade.” She said, her eyes traveling back to his face.
Nina dropped him hand, it had been so cold, and was about to show Kade up to her apartment when some girl she didn’t know came up to her and acted as if she knew her. Looking to the girl, Nina was wondering who she was, but again, this girl had such beauty…she wanted to do anything she asked for. ”Um…” Nina looked back to Kade and then to the girl. Something in her eyes told her to go along with it, but Nina had no idea why. ”Oh…um yeah…yeah I…um…forgot?” She wasn’t exactly sure what to say since really, she had no clue who the hell this girl was.
”Sorry…I’ll be right there. Um…Kade here let his keys to his apartment and I was just about to let him use my phone so I’ll…um…be right back.” Looking back to Kade, she motioned to the stairs and began to walk away. Odd, was all she could think.

He smiled when she began to faulter on her words. He had no idea why. Yes he did. It was that damn vampire magnetism that attracted mortals so much. Sometimes he hated it, often at times he embraced it very well. When she let go of his hand, he slipped it back into his apartment before another person came down stairs.
Hmm. Another vampire invading his territory. Not something he is so privy to. He's cut out her heart and shove it down her throat another time. Upon the girls insistence, Nina had decided to move along and help a "neighbor".
Following behind her, he couldn't help but look at her features. She was very inticing, rather awkward and very naive. He was going to have fun with her tonight.
"So, how long have you lived here?"
He asked, trying to make small talk. Pushing past the other vampire earlier and giving her a snide little look tensed him up. He had to relax. This was supposed to be fun.
"I really appreciate you helping me out like this. I normally don't forget my keys."
That was the truth, but he didn't live here in this building.

Nina kept her eyes forward as she walked up the stair to the second floor where her apartment resided. If she looked back at Kade, she definitely would loose her footing and fall or something else stupid like that. What was it about this guy that made her go all goo? She never was this way around guys, never.
”I’ve lived here for about…a year. I used to live in London, it’s where I grew up.” That’s all this man needed to know about her past. She doesn’t open up to people and wasn’t about to even if the man was overly handsome and probably could talk anything out of her.
”Oh, it’s no problem. Just…don’t touch anything. And excuse the mess…I paint a lot.” Nina said, once they reached her door. She hadn’t looked back at Kade once the whole time and was glad that she had to look to put the key in the key hole. Nina heard the familiar click of the lock unlocking and proceeded to open the door. ”Well, here it is,” Nina said, walking into her apartment and making sure Kade was following before shutting the door.
The small two room apartment was quite cramped. The door to the bedroom/toilet area was shut but her kitchen/living area was in the open and a mess. Her small table was covered in paint, a canvas was in the corner. There was no T.V. or couches, just that one table and two chairs. On one wall had a few shelves that were covered in art supplies. Another acted as the kitchen area with a sink, stove and refrigerator. ”Um, the phone is over here…” She said, leading Kade to the farthest wall of the room. A phone rested on that wall.

Hmm. London. That's where he was originally from. Well of course he would never tell her that. She didn't need to know the actual details. Hell, she didn't even know his real name. To him her voice was smooth and calming. He was surprised to find himself around artists all the time. Annabella, now her. He had to get out more.
"I see your an artist."
He smiled again. He noted it while looking around at the canvass's all over the place. She was dedicated. He had wondered what it was like inside here when they had been on the otherside of the door. Not at all what he expected, but her reasons were a cause for dismissal.
"Don't worry about it. My place is alot worse."
He lied. When she noted where the phone was, he nodded. Smirking a bit before making his way over to make the call.
Okay, he didn't actually call anyone. He dialed, but not any number in particular. He spoke, asking for a locksmith to open his door. Watching her the entire time. His eyes transfixed on her. He was grinning.
Hanging up the phone, he headed towards her slowly. It was okay. For now.
"Well, it should be about an hour. You don't mind if I wait here do you? Maybe....get to know my new neighbor a bit better?"
He grinned sinfully as he always did. He gently bit his lower lip and leaned against the counter.

When Kade pointed out the fact she was an artist, Nina couldn’t help but blush. Nina’s art was her true emotions put on canvas. She let everything go when she was painting, she let everything just flow out of her, all her problems, everything. Her painting was so…sacred to her. It was why all her canvas’ had sheets over them, for times like these when people came into her apartment. Plus, she sometimes didn’t like looking back as some paintings. They held so much emotion…sometimes looking at it brought it back.
Nina looked at her place again. How could this guys place be worse than her? Hers was a disaster with paint everywhere. While Kade spoke on the phone, she tried to put a few things away so that there could be a place for him to sit or just so she could seem a bit cleaner. But the problem was she felt his eyes on her the whole time. And it made her feel kind of…odd. Almost uncomfortable, no, definitely uncomfortable.
When she heard his voice, Nina jumped up and the brushes she had in her hand flew up into the air. ”Um…oh…yeah sure, that’s fine. Um…here…” Nina pulled out a chair from the table. ”You can sit. Sorry I have no sofa or anything, haven’t gotten enough money to buy one yet and truly I don’t have any more.”

Sevanni chuckled a bit when she jumped. He didn't mean to startle her. He leaned down to pick up the brushes, and then handing them to her after standing up. He was too damn close. He could smell the blood coursing through her veins.
"Actually."
He began while edging his way around her.
"I find everything to be quite exquisite."
He stated rather dreamily. He had his thoughts gathered now. It would be easier this way.
"The brush strokes. The contrasts."
His fingers were mere centimeters away from the paintings canvass. Following along the strokes. He lifted his head to look at her.
"May I?"
He asked with a quirked brow. His hand outstretched to grasp hers. He pulled her in front of the easel, stepping away a bit as he found a blank canvass. Replacing the already laid out art with it, he took one of the cups, filled it with water in the kitchen sink, before returning and placing the brushes down. She must have thought he was rather odd, but he wanted to show her a thing or two.
"Now."
He began while standing directly behind her.
"Excuse me."
He was polite, but he knew what he was doing. He pressed his body against hers, took her hand in his after picking up a brush and putting it in her hand.
"Show me how you paint."
His lips close to her right ear. Eyes staring at the blank canvass. He never let go of her hand. He wanted to feel her though her art. His words were soft, caressing. Gentle.

”Thanks,” Nina mumbled quietly as she took the brushes from his hand and laid them on the table. She could here his voice, so sensual, and felt herself freeze in place as he walked around her. Nina kept her eyes on the table, almost scared of this guy now, but still, couldn’t find it in herself to get away. Oh boy-o, she thought to herself as she heard his words turn into talk of art.
Looking up, she saw his body get closer and closer to one of her pieces of art. She wanted to tell him no, don’t look, but she knew she had no voice at this moment. Nina looked at his hand and felt her hand grasp his almost unwillingly. Soon, she was in front of a blank canvas, watching as Kade got out art supplies. Nina scrunched her eyebrows together, watching as some of her favorite pieces of equipment were beginning to be laid out in front of her.
”Now” She heard his voice all around her it seemed. Nina could feel his body close to hers and she couldn’t contain the shudder that ran down her spine at is closeness. She felt every nerve come alive as the paint brush was in her hand as was Kade’s. "Show me how you paint." Nina wanted to get away. Never before has she ever showed anyone anything that had to do with her painting. There was too much emotion there, too much she kept hidden that she showed through her artwork. She just couldn’t do it.
”I can’t,” She whispered, her head shaking ever so slightly. She couldn’t open herself up like that, she wouldn’t let herself. But Kade was so close, and he sounded so caring…Nina felt her hand move the brush into the cup of water before moving it then to the black paint. Her emotions were taking over now, she was escaping this world, and Kade got it out of her. But…how? Soon, the brush came in contact with the canvas and the images began to swirl. It was all abstract, no true image, just lines and swirls, showing how she felt. Her nervousness, her excitement…everything was being released. Nina wanted to cry, but she focused on the body behind her and the canvas in front of her.

Sevanni had quited her nerves for her. His calming motion seeping into her mind. He wasn't controlling her with his power. No. He needed all of it to come from her. So she would know it was all of her. Sevanni's hand followed her trails as she painted on the canvass. His head was slightly pressed gently against hers. He watched those delicate painters fingers work their magic. Occasionally looking down where her neck was, but it went unnoticed.
She was so beautiful, her art was beutiful, and the more she painted, the more he seemed to feel alive again. He had missed this. Never having this opportunity with Annabella. However, he didn't want to have Annabella. He wanted Nina. If he couldn't feed from her flesh, he would turn her and make her his. It was going to work one way or the other. She was a mortal, nothing else.
"You are so amazing."
His voice was so very low, almost a whisper in her ear. It was sensual and he couldn't help but to wrap his free arm around her waist, holding onto her as he could have been lost within her art. Lost in her. His breathing became a little bit more less subtle. Was he trying to seduce her? Who knew with Sevanni. It was always a something different.
