Michael decided to take a stroll in the woods. Get away from all the humans and look for some peace. Hopefully there wouldn't be any wolves here. He leaned against a random tree and began to listen. He could hear the smallest of animals running arounf. This is why he came here.
He wasn't the only one here though. He sensed a pressence and he could not tell who or what it was.

Megan could hear her stomach grumble. She hadn't eaten tonight. She wrapped her arms around her stomach. "Shut up!" She whispered to her stomach. She saw a rabbit and licked her lips. She inched into the shadows.
She got deeper and deeper into the shadows when she sensed someone. Vampire or werewolf? She couldn't quite tell. Her senses weren't that great yet. She scooted back till she was against a tree and held her breath.

Michael surveyed the area. At first he saw nothing, but he let go off his sight and reached out with more useful senses. He saw a tree. There was something there, probably a wolf. He cautiously approached the tree. Not making a sound. In an instant he sped around the tree and grabbed the girl by the throat. He quickly realized she was only a kid and hastily released her from his grip "Sorry kid" He said while shaking his hands.
She was a vampire, a very young one. He hadn't seen many as young as her before. Most vamps were in their 20's when they were turned. "What are you doing out here kid?"

Megan looked around, trying to see where the...thing? Person?...was. Before she made another move someone had her at her throat. She tried to scream but she was in too much shock. The person let her go and she looked up, seeing that he was another vampire but quite older. "I-It's fine." She stammered, still in shock.
When she got herself back in control, she gave the man a closer look. He looked older than her. In his 20's, maybe. "I was hunting. I guess I'm not so great at it if you can hear me and figure out where I am." She looked down and blushed.

He chuckled when she said that she wasn't good at hunting. "It takes time dear. I was the same when I was first turned. You'll get better" He said while patting her shoulder. "I'm Michael by the way" It didn't look like she had a mentor. Another lost soul. "You know it was about 182 years ago that I first made a successful kill. So don't be to hard on yourself.
There were animals everywhere. He looked back to her "It will probably be easier to catch a human. Animals are so fast, but so are we" He with a light laugh.

Megan smiled a small smile. He was kind and had gone through what she is going through. "I'm Megan." She gave him a shocked look when he said 182 year. "A hundred and eighty two...years?! How long have you been a vampire?"
She looked at him while he told her what she could eat. Maybe he could show her the ways of the vampire world. She would like that... a lot. "B-But doesn't it feel weird killing a human since, you know, you were one of them once?"

He once again laughed when she showed shock at his age. He didn't want to feel old but he would tell her "Lets just say I am 208 years old" The girl obviously didn't like the idea of taking human life. He felt the same, at this point in his life anyway. "Its your choice what you eat. If animal works for you, stick with it" He had been feeding of human blood for over 100 years, and it was only now that he gave up. It was hell, he hungered for human blood now but his will power was strong enough to feed on animals, for now at least.
He needed to ask a few questions "You have a mentor right? Someone to guide you, someone to make sure you live through the year" Vampire life was tough, it was hell without any help.

Megan eyes got wide. "208?" She let out a long breath. "Wooooow...." She shook her head and got back to talking about feeding. "The first thing I feed off of was an animal. They satisfy me. I had a small stomach as a human." She giggled and smiled.
Megan looked down when he asked her if she had a mentor. She shook her head. "No. I've been alone ever since I changed. You are one of the few people I met." She kicked the ground with her shoe.

What to do? Michael was a loner, he preferred to live and travel alone. This girl needed a mentor, a father figure. He wished he could hand her over to another vampire, but he didn't know many, not experienced ones anyway. He would decide what to do later. Right now though the girl was hungry.
He placed his hand on her shoulder and smiled "You know we could go to a butcher shop. Pick up some pigs blood" That would be the easiest thing to do.

Megan looked up at Michael. He didn't seem that interested in being her mentor. She sighed and shrugged. She was used to being alone. She could probably do it the rest of her life.
Megan nodded. "That sounds good. I'm too tired to hunt, too much work." She yawned as she said it.

"Look I can teach you the skills you need to survive" Who else would teach her? "If you need a place to stay, I have a room at a hotel. Its a one bed room though, so you would have to sleep on the couch. Michael offering shelter was a stretch, some would think it mean to have her sleep on the couch, but he was all business. If this girl allows him, he would turn her into a hunter that can strike out on her own.
He didn't want this kid to starve. "Well if your coming?" He said while walking to his car. He had stolen it just a few hours before.

Megan looked up at him. "I would love to be taught skills and the couch would be fine." She smiled a little. She never really had a father. He ran away before she was born. But she didn't think of Michael as a father but more as a mentor.
Megan followed him as he walked to his car. It was a nice car. How he got it, she wouldn't ask. None of her buisness. She slipped into the passenger seat and put on her seat belt.
