Maximillion nods.
"Vampirism is nothing more than an infection. A sexually transmitted disease. An epidemic. Oh sure, our bodies begin to function in an amplified and boosted fashion, but it kills our red blood cells. It forces us to feed on the blood of others. And what would you know, there are those amongst us who enjoy this fact."
He takes another drink from his shake and smiles.
"Whatever blood a Vampire has in them is that of his victims, therein tainted with his own essence and processed therein. Much like the vitamins and nutrients from our food is processed, so is the blood we devour, until it essencially becomes ours. Once the blood enters in through the esophagus and into the stomache, our unnatural digestive tracts take the blood, and make it into our own."
"As weird as it may sound, I find Vampire blood very addictive. With each amount I drink, I gain unimaginable power, depending on how old or strong the vampire was. The gains are minuscle in small numbers, but add it over the years, and perhaps you will understand how I came to be as strong as I now am."
Setting the now-empty glass aside to be refilled, he regarded Ian calmly.
"All I sought for two millennia was power. I wanted to become the most powerful creature in existance, not to conquer, but to defend that which I hold dear. However, in these past few centuries, I have lost that fire, it would seem. I long for something....GREATER than this. A way that, if possible, I could regain my humanity without sacrificing the power I've accumulated. I am currently in the process of developing that method as we speak."
As his glass got refilled, he leaned closer to Ian.
"It is a nifty research, and it could potentially allow us free reign to walk in daylight. We could become more than night-dwelling predators who feed on those weaker than us. We could become contributing members of society again. We could become phenomenal. And, should we gain our souls back, we could face something other than Hell in our afterlife, you know?"
