Helveticas Scott gasped as he jumped over the parked van. He could hear the two werewolves behind him, snarling as they gave chase. Helveticas was unfamiliar with New York City. He hadn't been in the States for more than a month, and this was only his second time feeding... it was just his bad luck, and his ignorance of werewolf hot spots, that had ruined his evening. Now he found himself in a dark, narrow street, barely wide enough for a single automobile.
A growl sounded behind Helveticas, and the young vampire turned to see one of the werewolves. It wasn't big, and looked about as young as Helveticas... but looks could be deceiving. Helveticas jumped and caught hold of a fire escape twenty feet above the ground. He practically flew up the ladder as the werewolf launched himself off the wall of the opposite building before colliding with the fire escape. Thankfully, the werewolf had misjudged his power and was unable to keep a firm grip on the ladder. He fell to the ground, and Helveticas was able to reach the roof unharmed.
Once he was relatively safe from the pursuit, Helveticas ran as quickly as he could over the rooftops. He stopped several blocks later and dropped down into a secluded alley, pausing to catch his breath. The vampire silently cursed his choice to leave England. New York had proved an unfriendly city thus far...

Hmm, Arya thought silently to herself, What is another person doing up here? Arya had been waiting up there, on the top of the roof, for a meal to float past. It was much easier to wait for a mal to come to you than it was for you to chase a meal. Food was her main thought at this point until she smelled dog. Mangy dog. She hated that smell. She perferred cats herself even though she was a sucker for all animals.
Fingering the small claw mark on her palm, she breathed a sigh of relief. It was only a human. As far as she knew...An owl hooted and she looked up one more time. Getting fed up with all the precise noises, Arya was deciding to leave. Oh gosh, her head felt light, that someone was walking toward her. More like stumbling actually.
Clutching the novel in her hand she drew it backward, gaining mometum if she needed to fight. Her shy personality had never left her when she was changed into a vampire.
Who are you?

Helveticas halted, staring at the stranger. "Helveticas. Helveticas Scott. I'm not from around here, actually. I'm sorry I sort of dropped in without any preamble, but I was being chased."
Helveticas hesitated before continuing. He had no idea who the woman was, yet she appeared to be a decent person. Something about her felt comforting to Helveticas. "To tell you the truth, I'm sort of lost. Do you think you could help me?"
