((OOC: I like a good story and this is just some background on my own character, Daros. To anyone who is interacting with him or interested, enjoy.))
Daros knocked once on the door and then entered the office. The room was small, but cluttered. Various artifacts lay strewn across tables, bookshelves and the desk. Books (both open and closed) and loose papers and notes were scattered across every flat surface, including the floor. The desk was a large, teak beauty. An antique. The professor sitting behind the desk was stooped over a translation of hieroglyphs, but as Daros entered the room, he looked up and gave a strained smile in greeting.
"Hello again, Daros, it's been a while. I'm glad you came, I have something to tell you." the professor said in an urgent voice. He indicated a chair cluttered with books and a globe of the world and continued, "Please, sit."
Daros slowly, confidently, walked across the room and gently cleared the chair of objects (setting them carefully on the floor) and sat down. He simply waited for his friend to start. Daros was a tall man... or perhaps man was incorrect. He was a vampire. He was over six feet tall and was very dark in skin. This skin color set him apart from so many of his own kind, whom were traditionally pale.
His dark hair was cropped short and he had a thin beard. His black eyes roamed across the room slowly. Scanning the books and artifacts, he recognized some old objects his friend had been studying for years, but there were also several new discoveries. A map of the Valley of Kings... An ancient book written in sandscript, but Daros recognized it immediately. A book from Mesopotamia... He let his focus shift back to the professor and listened to his urgent words.
"A war has broken out in the north. I can't give you specifics, because I only know what started the war. A werewolf by the name of James had a relationship with a vampire named Litte. Both are safe, for the moment. But a coven of vampires led by one called Xavier... they have declared war on all werewolves. There are two major werewolf packs involved. A man named Patrick. Be wary of him. He has no love for vampires of any kind and would probably kill you in a heartbeat. The other pack is led by Adam Vagus out of Hollywood, America. He is tolerant and it is rumored he is looking for any aid, including vampires, to help in the war."
Daros sighed and closed his eyes. After a few moments of thought, he stood and said in his deep, bass voice, "I will go to this Adam Vagus and see how I can help, then. It may be that I can not help. If the war is simply a childish squabble between werewolves and vampires... I will not stain my hands with the blood of innocents. But if what you say is true, then perhaps this particular coven... Xavier's coven... should be shown the proper way... Or destroyed if they will not see reason. I will decide my course when I know the facts. Thank you, my friend. Until we meet again." Daros bowed his head and then left the room in a blink of the professor's eyes.
The professor merely shook his head, "Why you bother, my friend... there will always be a war. Werewolves and vampires shall never cooperate on the scale that you hope and there will always be bloodshed. It is the nature of this planet..."
"Have faith, my friend." Daros' whisper barely audible in the room, "God works in ways you or I can not understand, but rest assured, he created werewolves and vampires just as he created humans and trees and the rest of this world. Everything shall fall together like the pieces of a puzzle..."
The professor merely chuckled sadly and went back to his studies.
