Litte cursed herself silently. He had heard her. She didnt want him to hear her. She was really considering the fire. But she believed his words. He would come in after her. She would try and push him out but he wouldnt budge. She could just see that scene playing in her mind. No, she wouldnt do it. She didnt want to be away from him anyway. But she didnt want to ruin his life.
Thats what she felt like she was doing. But when he kissed her she forgot about where her line of thoughts were going. It lasted longer then before and she stopped breathing briefly. She looked him in the eyes. He wouldnt be able to change her mind about her ruining his life. But she could pretend she wasnt thinking that.
She shook her head and said, "I dont want you to do that. You belong with a pack. Im just a girl. Some random girl you should have killed long ago. I dont want you to change everything because of ME. Wortheless ME. You have your world you belong to. If I eve change things for you, and you have a choice...please...dont pick me." It broke her heart to say that. But she wanted him to have a nice life.

James gritted his teeth. Why did she have to be so stubborn? She was just like himself. She really thought she was ruining his life. He honestly didn't believe this to be true. She calmed down somewhat, she wouldn't be going anywhere now. James released her but stayed close like in the waltz.
"Why do you think you're worthless? I don't see a worthless thing in front of me at all! If you were worthless then I stand by my word, I would have killed you and have been done with it. But you are worth more than every star in the sky! You are a vampire who will not hunt humans. This makes you very worthy in my eyes. Litte, I can't stay with the pack forever. I have to leave eventually. That day is coming closer and closer. When I do leave, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I guess what I'm saying is..." James got down on one knee, holding one hand of her's.
"Would you marry me someday?"

Litte stayed close by him. She didnt want to be away from him ever. Even if that would be the right choice. Her heart was telling her something different. And why not listen to the blasted thing now that it had a jump start. And his words were making her melt. He made her feel so happy and actually special. No one had ever made her so happy. James was really a special person that could never be replaced.
She blinked though when he got down on one knee in front of her. Was she really seeing this? What was happening. But she understood. And she blushed a bright red when he was done. She knew the someday was because of the war coming up, but she didnt care. She threw herself at him, knocking them both to the ground where she was on top of him. She chuckled and nodded. "Yes." She said and kissed him.

She said yes. James blinked. She said yes. SHE SAID YES! James leaped to his feet, grabbed Litte, yanked her smack against his chest, his heart beating like a madman's, and kissed her. Really kissed her this time. He had to taste every flavor, feel every small crevice, leaving absolutely nothing out. He breathed in her sweet scent. The scent of a vampire. He loved her scent. She was his and his alone. No one could have her. He claimed her.
James was glowing. He beamed at Litte and held her tightly, never wanting to let go. "I love you so much. Stay with me forever, Litte," he demanded. He was breathless at this moment, breathing in only Litte and Litte alone.

Litte laughed when he jumped to his feet so quickly. She wasnt surprised though when he yanked her into his chest. She loved him so much and his scent was amazing as it blasted her nose. She snuggled closer to him and hugged him tightly. She was engaged...To James...a werewolf. Luckily she didnt have to bring him to meet the family. Not that she would have cared.
She chuckled at his words and looked up into his eyes. "I love you so much to. And Ill stay by your side forever wolf boy." She teased and tapped him on the nose with her fingertip.

James growled, flashing his perfect teeth, "And you, vamp girl, will always stay where you belong. Dammit Litte we will make this work. We will..." he promised. It was a long night. He was exhausted and they managed to dance the night away. He'd better get his fiance home before the sun rose. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder and brought her close to him.
"It's about time we leave this place. I wouldn't want that pretty skin of yours to get charred," he teased, pinching her cheek. It really was the perfect night. It ended unexpectedly, but when he was with Litte, everything happened so fast and not according to any plan.

Litte laughed at his growl and she was sure they could make it work if they tried. Everything was in their reach if they just tried. Her dreams had all come true tonight and she couldnt be happier. She felt like flying! If she could. But running was the closest thing. She would be jumping around her house when she got home. That was a fact. She was having a hard time keeping it in now.
But she followed James and smiled. "Yeah. I dont feel like getting burnt. Especially not now." She said. She looked up at him though with love in her eyes and said, "Thank you for a wonderful night." She leaned up and kissed him. She then chuckled and growled teasingly. "If you have a bachelor party, no strip club. Ill smack you." She teased.

James laughed at her stripping joke and knocked Litte off balance, snatching her up in his arms just in time. He opened the door for her and he led her back to the parking lot where he left his wondrous little sports car. He could get used to keeping a car like this one. The windows were tinted just in case they cut it close. "I'm going to have to find a nice ring for you. It will be huge. The biggest rock you have ever laid eyes on, my little fiance."
James climbed into the driver's seat and started the engine. The car purred to life. He waited for Litte to shut her door, shifted into drive, and pulled away. Glancing over at Litte every spare second he had, he just couldn't bring himself to take his eyes off of her.

Litte blinked as he knocked her off balance. She really thought she was going to do a face plant when he caught her at the perfect moment. She blinked and swallowed and was going to yell at him but he rushed her out the door. She understood. The sun was coming quickly and she needed to get home.
She smiled at the car again. She really liked it and when they were in the car and he talked about a large ring she shook her head. "I dont want to put you in debt James. The ring doesnt matter. Take your time. And it doesnt have to be that huge. A small smiple one will be just as lovely."

James' eyebrows shot up. Weren't girls supposed to just agree with this type of thing? Well obviously Litte didn't know how James spent his money. The teen worked at a department store mornings, putting his muscles to work. He made a nice salary for this. James wasn't a shopper. He didn't like to splurge or buy items of comfort. He bought what was necesssary to live: clothes, food, hygienic products, etc.
So he had a lot of money just lying around because he didn't know what to do with it. He would get her a damn good ring. Putting money for that was for a good cause indeed. He kept his eyes on the road, noting the traffic beginning to build up. He decided to be bad and run a red light because he didn't want to wait and sun-up was crawling closer
"No, the ring I'm going to buy you will be appropriate for this occasion, just you wait and see," he grinned. By appropriate he did, indeed, mean ginormous. It would be a diamond that a star would be shamed for it.

Litte was watching the streets as they zoomed on. She was forcing herself to look somewhere else other then him. But that would have been her first choice. She hummed quietly and couldnt keep a smile off her face. She was engaged to the most wonderful guy ever. How had she gotten so lucky? Thats what was going through her mind when he ran a red light.
"James! You just ran a red light!!" She said and looked at him with wide eyes. "Getting me home isnt that important. I can run out pretty quickly and get under cover. A little tiny burn wont matter." She said. She would much rather him not get a ticket just because of the sunrise coming. She also knew she couldnt talk him out of the ring.

James only smiled when Litte scolded him about the light. She worried too much. Litte's house was very close now. When he pulled up into her driveway, he looked at her and said, "Call me tomorrow night, we'll have to get back together and talk some details out," he leaned over and kissed her quickly on the cheek.
"Love you!" he reminded her for the hundredth time tonight. Oh boy, what was he going to tell his pack! He contemplated just saying nothing, but Litte's scent was strong on him now. They would ask questions and he didn't know what he would tell them. One thing was for certain, Patrick and Ella could never know about this. Chaos would ensue the second Patrick would hear the words "engaged to vampire".

Litte rolled her eyes at him. She could almost hear him saying she worried to much. But hey, she could get out of a car crash easily. No harm down. Him? Not so much. He was more human then she was. She could take a gun shot and be fine. Not him. But she didnt mention these things as they came to her house. She smiled as he kissed her cheek and then she got out. They had got here just in time.
"Ill call you. Night. Love you to." She closed her door and then waved and walked inside. But even if she was smiling everything was starting to sink in now. The pack...what would he tell them. She made it to her room and looked out the window. It would be a cloudy day...and it was almost like a foreshadow of the troubles to come.
