Giselle only ate one thing -- blood. It was all she ever needed. Her mansion, twenty something cars, designer purses, and everything else she owned wasn't necessary, but blood was. And it was all she cared about.
This was her first date with another vampire since her old lover. Why she agreed to this or why it was at this fancy French restaurant she didn't know. All she did know was that she got herself mixed up with another vampire who had no intention of leaving her be -- or more like she couldn't let herself let him be.
She did miss the taste of food and though she could still taste -- better than ever since she was now a vampire -- human food just wasn't necessary. She came early to the restaurant to snack on a waiter she caught when he went out in the back to dispose garbage.
There wasn't a reservation placed at the restaurant so maybe Don just wanted her to meet there and then they could go hunting? Or maybe he was taking her somewhere else entirely. She was excited for tonight but also dreading it. She promised herself she wouldn't do this again; find a companion, date, and then witness him slip out one night to see the world and never see her again.
Giselle sat down next to the waiter's dead body in the alley next to the restaurant and propped him up to sit next to her. She smoothed back his hair and wiped the blood from his neck. She sighed.
"I only have good conversations with the dead. So tell me, why is it that I'm such an idiot?" she questioned the dead guy. His head lolled to the side. "Yeah, I get that answer every time," she mumbled and shoved the corpse away.
