Crimson Kiss is going to undergo some serious changes. Some of them you guys might like, some you might not. Either way, things NEED to be improved, obviously. It's gonna be kind of a slow change, since, essentially this entails us the staff creating a whole other site all together. CK might not be "CK" anymore, however, we haven't decided upon the details YET! Either we're keeping this same URL or (ore probably) having a splash page up on the home page that will eventually redirect people to the new board. This board would still be viewable, of course, for rereading purposes and getting applications and the sort but posting will be disabled. *I* personally feel like a new url would be neater and easier to work with in the building of the new CK. THIS CK will still be accessible posting wise until the new URL/site is COMPLETELY finished. Old members will be sorted upon registering, but will be encouraged to update an application on the new site since the plot will be different. Free form applications as well as structured ones will be available.

Also, doing away with a word count is also a huge possibility. However, that doesn't mean one liners would be acceptable. You all know we'd still expect QUALITY writing that matches up to your RP partner's. By quality, we really mean it. We'll be sticklers about it for sure! But at least when you're just writing that sort of conversation thread, and there's not too much to write about besides dialogue you can be safe with a simple 200 or so worded post.

Okay, so now you're wondering what new CK will be!? Right, so, I took into account what sort of made this place fall. It was the lack of the plot, obviously. But the issue was that CK, being global, was just so big geographically that a good board wide plot was difficult to maintain. So new CK will only take place in New York City. We chose this because it's a lot more of a melting pot of all different cultures and peoples. With a centralized and smaller geographic community of characters, it will be a lot easier for them to interact.

As for the actual plot.... -drum roll- ... CANONS! Yes, lots of them. Namely, many mobs! Obviously these mobs will be organized by specie. For example, there are plans to have 3 vampire covens/mobs, 3 werewolf packs/mobs and 3 human ones. Think of it like a mafia type deal -- very modern. They will each inherit different parts of the five boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island). For example, Manhattan, being a larger borough would be divided to a north and south - that way there are essentially six districts for nine mobs - the humans will have to share territory with the creatures in some.

Some relations will be full of tension, while other groups will be allies. This has all yet to be decided and planned out.

The way canons work, though, if you don't know - is this:

There's a "Canons" thread. In this thread lists all the roles in the game that MUST be filled eventually, or are at least at very high priority. Basically, until these positions are filled, that spot is to be an NPC. It sounds confusing, but really it isn't.

The thread will have sections, divided into each mob. For example, the first post of the thread might be the Human Mobs - and would be labeled as such. Within the first post would be all three human mobs and who's in them. The leader of the mob will be listed first, along with his/her right hand people - and then the members within it, etc. Some of the leaders will have to have certain values. for example, one vampire mob may not like humans or werewolves, and therefore be "evil" and want to kill them or belittle them - the leader and everyone in that mob will have to think as such. Another vampire mob may more peaceful, but keep in mind - their territory must be protected, they ust might be more tolerant. Same goes for werewolf mobs. As for the human ones, some might not want to share space with the creatures whereas some don't mind them there and might make deals with the mobs they can in order for them to protect them from other mobs that are stronger than them. This will all be outlined and made simple when we organize the mobs themselves, don't worry haha.

Anyways, I feel as if this will engage a lot more subplots, too. And making complex BWP will be a much easier task on staffs part. Plus, there will always be unresolved tension - so it's a lot less maintenance than our old BWP.

The last thing is - that there will still be the option of citizen humans as well as vampires and werewolves. Just the ones that get caught in the crossfire.


SO NOW THAT I'M DONE EXPLAINING THAT. I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU ALL WHO PLAN ON STICKING AROUND THINK? This is the basic structure - it's GOING to happen. But I am open to taking any suggestions or hearing you guys's thoughts about it. Also, if you think your character will fit anyplace significant in this plot. It's rather flexible, I think.

Vamp, Wolf, Human, mob mafia? Hells yeah. I was just planning my return today and see this message which is a possible godsend to us all. I agree with everything you said about the downsides and about condensing into NYC. Sure it might be a bit cliche, but where else do you expect such diversity also?

One thing I was wondering is, would it be possible also to have an area on the new board that would be available for outside of the city, as some plots and such might work better with certain people leaving for a time being, ala a godfather leaving for the time being and leaving his highest raised henchman at the top, but maybe they also run into someone else outside of the city and plot there instead?

As for me, you can count Isabella into a vamp mob if you have one that is willing to work alongside wolves and humans

Yes, there will be a board for other places in the U.S.as well as the world, but the majority of the boards will be in NYC.

It is crucial that Ellie, Ray, and I have as much help from our wonderful and dedicated members as possible. We are thinking about you guys during the planning of this! Crimson Kiss is as much yours as it is mine, Ellie's, and Ray's. We want to hear your thoughts, opinions, and ideas! Not to mention, we need some activity and some canons BEFORE we start advertising. I can't even begin to tell you how tough it was to start from scratch with CK.

The name of our new site will be "From the Dead"

We chose this for a few reasons:
- "Crimson Kiss" is the name of a song from a musical called "Lestat the Musical" and so is "From the Dead" I felt it would be appropriate and kinda cute to pick a song from that show.

- With the name From the Dead, it's like CK rose from the dead x] which it is going to

- It's sinister, dark, appropriate for a vamp/wolf RPG and I always thought RPG titles were important to draw people in just by the title alone... like a novel title would xP

I have been wanting to return as well and just haven't found the right place/plot to dive into so I think this will be awesome. And I call evil vamp coven canon!!!! Lol - I mean, Aubrey and Sevanni were the evil coven leaders before and Emi has quite a history with them and of being evil enough

Hnf, I was wondering when you guys would say something. WELL. New York is not something I would have considered, nor the whole mob thing. I'm still trying to warm up to that personally; but Rose says she'll gladly be a vampire mob leader. The bitch got money and skills.

i love the idea! this could make structuring a coven more easy. i had a great idea for a tyrant human whos one goal is to eliminate all vamp and wolves. someone rich mean and balled XD. if your looking for a cannon like that im down.

I definitely like the idea of this new site, but it would suck to see CK fall. It is very catchy. i like the new idea with mobs. It's interesting. it would make things more...out there, and give a better variety for subplots.
