Jakob had never really seen any vampire or human relationships- short of the ones he’d seen in the media. Apart from the fairy-tale endings things like Twilight sold- it was mostly all bad luck for the human. He was either cattle or her pet, and despite those options he still managed to hold Rose in his arms. Unlike Emily, Rose seemed to be completely and utterly different. It wasn’t a bad thing really, he just didn’t really know what to predict about her. She was keeping him on his toes, which was a new and well amazing experience to feel. He knew she was deadly, however – most things in life were deadly right? The thing about life for him was that you had to live it day by day- and that everyone eventually did pass away. Passing away, just meant for him at least- somewhere new, and the ability to finally be at ease and have all the answers he was so readily searching to find. As her eyes bore into his- he didn’t flinch, for all the words he spoke were the truth- all for her, and only her. Call him old fashioned, but he firmly believed in that when you cared for someone- you were able to be honest with them.
For him, wealth held two meanings: the wealth of money and the wealth having those you loved. Nothing good in life ever comes cheep; nothing came easy without something having to be paid in full to earn that one thing. As he held Rose, he seemingly wanted one thing: her and no one else. It was a desperate thought, most would assume- but she was making his blood run slightly hot. Maybe luck did have something to play in the two of them meeting tonight. At least his luck was looking up for once, oh just maybe things were becoming better. Hopefully, this wasn’t merely the calm before the coming storm- hurricane Rose. Her words caused him to look down and he waggled his eyebrows suggestively. ”Well I dunno….Maybe” he said saying the last part with a slight purr of his own, if only to make her laugh. Consider it a need for him to have to make the object of his desire laugh, and not have it be at his own expense. His mind was fluttering like the wings of a hummingbird- thoughts pulsed quick and then faded just as quick.
He was like most humans in the sense that most were living in their own forms of ignorance. Yet, tonight he felt as if his eyes had been slightly opened to what was truly out there. It scared him only a little, at the fact that he was now had to fear being eaten by his girlfriend as well as others. Hopefully, he could get away with saying his blood had too much bad cholesterol. At that moment, he fully realized there might indeed come a day where he’d have to choose between a normal life and or a life of immortality. Although, it was slightly appealing he wanted to weigh the risks of doing so- giving up everything and being a so called ‘child of the night’. Blinking his eyes a little, he wondered if Rose would be the one whom turn him- he didn’t want to think about it at this moment. Push it aside and think of it later, he rationalized would be the best course of action to take in this matter.
When she tilted her head, and blinked her doe like eyes wide at him- he couldn’t help but think at how cute she looked. He wasn’t hurt; nope it wasn’t the first time he nearly ran out of air. As she apologized he merely shook his head lightly and kissed her on the cheek. ”No need to be sorry, it was well worth it truthfully” he said softly. When the guilt hit her face, he leaned his head down and kissed her upon the forehead to comfort her. ”No worries Rose, its all good” he said softly and then her face went clear of emotion once more. Great, now she was going to put on an act for him like she did earlier. Then he rationalized that she may indeed be daydreaming- to which he thought it did look somewhat cute.
As a silence enveloped the two of them once more, he wondered what she was thinking. Was she holding back? He wasn’t scared, and if she did in fact become some type of monster- then well he’d try his best to be beside said monster. Her glance at him caused him to look back down at her and give a sweet smile. Worry hit his mind as he felt her grip upon his waist seemingly tightened just a little. Maybe, she was scared for him- yet if she was, why though?
Personally, he didn’t care about the cameras and their owners snapping pictures of Rose and him. She was the one thing that deserved his utmost attention and everything else was simply unimportant. Looking down at Rose, he knew it was about time he stopped hiding himself from the world. It was time to let someone in, and hell why it couldn’t be Rose? As she spoke his name, he gave a nod, and listened to her question. He gave a questioning look as he look at the ceiling ”I don’t know a normal guy like me and an amazing supermodel like yourself? Hmm, I’ll have to think about that one…Yep” he said as he looked down and into her eyes. ”You know just as long as I get to call you my girlfriend” he added as he gave her a quick kiss upon the lips. So, it seemed he was no either a vampire’s boyfriend or well…Pet? Maybe, this would be a good change, and not a bad one? Seeing her quick nod, and then the feeling of her squeezing his hand- he knew she had a battle plan thought out.
Eagerly, he followed Rose past the couples grinding to the music and he marveled at how for once he was finally exploring life. When they exited the building, and he felt the cool night air touch his face and arms, he smiled in relief. Looking around silently with his head, he managed to spot no paparazzi around. Would he have to be afraid of those filthy urchins now too? Grinning as Rose turned to face him, and spoke her next words- he gave a light chuckle. She was a tease, that was certain, and despite that he was already wrapped around the blonde’s finger. At her wink, he knew the game was afoot once more and he had a few more tricks up his sleeve. Moving behind her, his arms wrapped themselves around her waist and he leaned his head down and kissed her neck tenderly, before releasing his grip and stood beside her. Game, set, and match like they say in these situations right?
Glancing over at her, he gave a slight wink, and now he was completely ready for round two.
