No That one simple word brought her up short, made her pause in her pacing to look at him for a half second before resuming. Sometimes, she needed to be in motion to think clearly. She needed to be up and doing something. No? So Sevanni wasn't confused in the least about any of this? She wished that she wasn't, but she was. She didn't know what to do, what to say. She was so unsure of herself that it was almost painful. But, since he seemed to want to be blunt and open with her, she could try to be the same way with him.
It is.....I mean....it was. She closed her eyes and sighed, slowing her pacing down considerably. Was. Not is, anymore. Somehow, somewhere down the line, something had changed with the two of them. But how? How could she be feeling this for someone who she had spent so long hating? The man who was the reason for bits of her sanity being eaten away?
As she sat down on the bed, her mind was racing. What did she really feel? Right now, at this moment? She had slowly been forced to learn things about him that she hadn't known previously. Learned more about who he really was when within the confines of his home, when he felt secure and able to let his hair down, so to speak. He wasn't at all what she had been expecting. However, no matter how much of a different man he was when alone, that didn't mean that she could ever feel any kind of strong emotion for him other than hate... Could she? Her lack of conviction astounded her. At that moment, she didn't feel hate towards the man sitting beside her on the bed. How could that be?
I'll catch you. I'll always be there when you need me. It was corny, but the words spoken from him sent a wave of heat through her. But, could she trust him? Could she actually trust him enough to give him that chance? Or should she just pull away again and depend on herself? She felt his hand on hers, but she was paying more attention to his face, watching his expression. She saw nothing but sincerity there, no deception, no lies. Just truth.
She didn't pull away from him when he gently grabbed her other hand in his, nudging the two of them closer together. I kissed you because I am drawn to you. I always have been. Her eyes widened ever so slightly at his words, blinking twice as she made sure that she had heard him right. She looked down at his hands holding hers, a small sigh on her lips. "I don't know what to do here... The things that I feel... I don't think I should be feeling... You shouldn't, either..." But, did she really care? Did she really give a damn about what they should, or should not, be feeling?
She shivered slightly as his fingers moved across her skin, eye lids fluttering down to savor the feel of his skin against hers, even in the briefest of grazes. This would be very, very dangerous for her, if she were to allow herself to trust him in the way he was suggesting. This was the only way...... She opened her eyes to look at him again after he spoke, his hands pulling away from hers.
"I need... some time. I have to sort some things out... Figure out what this is... I need to have some time to think... Everything is so confusing now... Happening too fast, I can barely keep up. I'm sorry for running away earlier... And I'm sorry for smacking you... There is one thing that I want to do, though.." She scooted closer to him, her body half turned to face his. She licked her bottom lip nervously, placing her index finger under his chin to turn his face towards her, and pressed her lips against his softly in another kiss, her hand resting lightly on the side of his throat. She had been wanting to kiss him again since she had run away from him out in the garden, and she actually allowed herself to act on that impulse, just this once until she had things figured out, without shame or embarrassment.

"I don't know what to do here... The things that I feel... I don't think I should be feeling... You shouldn't, either..." Maybe she was right. But how could he fight something like that when he had felt it for so long? He had hid it well from everyone for the longest time. No sense of knowing from anyone. Even as Aubrey had accused Sevanni for feeling something for Annabella he had denied it. In part he had, but she was just a trinket to use, and he had to the best of his abilities. Until James had intercepted and gotten in his way. Another reason why the two were destined to fight one another.
Her eyes drew away and all he could do was try not to look at her. With Nixie, he didn't want to rush things. Sometimes the better of his fiber had grasped his actions, but he had managed to hold back this long. Until he kissed her out in the garden. Maybe it had been a mistake. Now she was more confused than ever, and he wasn't sure it was a good thing or a bad thing.
"I need... some time. I have to sort some things out... Figure out what this is... I need to have some time to think... Everything is so confusing now... Happening too fast, I can barely keep up. I'm sorry for running away earlier... And I'm sorry for smacking you... There is one thing that I want to do, though.." She was making his brain work hard and trying to compute everything at once was nearly like a blur. She shouldn't feel bad for running off. She wasn't ready and he should have known better.
The slap. Well the slap was a monster turn on which only made him want her more and more. Slap him again. Slap him and do it all night long. Kiss. Kiss and taste her lips and touch her in various places that most women could only dream about. So what if he was older and had done things to her that no one should ever experience. He was who he was, and even Sevanni needed a mate.
His head turned to face her as she skulked closer to him. Watching as she licked her bottom lip. Brows furrowed, curious as to what she was up to. Then her motion had brought a finger up under his chin after trying to look away. If she had touched his face would he get mad like he did everyone else?
Then the unimaginable happened. She had done it. She had made the first attempt in renewing the exchange. He had to lean in to it and return it. The feeling of those lips held such an endearing feeling that he couldn't possibly want to let go.
Her hand went to the side of his throat, his hand moved along her leg, passing over short fabric and moving over her waist. It had only been lips, but he gave the invite. Letting his tongue brush against the split of her lips, seeking entry like a barred prisoner trapped in it's own mouth.
His hand left her frame and rested against the side of her face, sliding fingers through strands as his palm rested against her cheek. Painfully drawing her closer to him and maybe perch her on his lap. Draw her in. Not as if he expected her to give more and more. Still, even as she expressed herself with him, he knew that she could never love him. Not like he would want. There were so many secrets out there that would cause her to hate him more and more. Tarus alive. Inora's rape. The list went on and on.

For the first time in her life, she actually fully let herself off her chain around Sevanni. All the times that she had mouthed off to him, hit him, everything, she had still been under a tight reign. She very rarely let herself completely go. And, depending on the situation, depended on how she would be when she finally allowed herself full freedom to do whatever she wished. She didn't fight her reaction to him, or her desire to initiate the kiss this time. She wouldn't let this go on for long, but she just wanted another taste...
She smiled against his lips when he pushed into her kiss, and she pushed back gently, allowing him to pull her closer to him, her attention divided between his kiss and his hands roaming up her legs. Was that going to permanently be their reactions to one another? Sevanni pushes, and she pushes back? Well, that could make things interesting... She slammed her mind down on those thoughts right then and there. She still didn't know what her true feelings towards Sevanni was, and she wouldn't let this go any further until she did... Or at least came to terms with it.
She felt his tongue slide along the seam of her lips, and she didn't resist, but parted her lips slightly to allow him entrance. When she committed to something, it would take a decree from God Himself to make her go against her commitment. There had only been two people who, when she swore to kill them, she had not done so. And those two were Sevanni Black, and Shaden Grace. She had a vendetta against Shaden for years, since she was 16, up until about a few months ago, when they had come to a kind of rocky understanding. Not quite a friendship, but they at least didn't have the desire to kill one another anymore. She knew this for a fact. She had even offered her throat to Shaden, offered to let him finish the job that he and two others had started when she was 16, and he had refused. Sevanni... She didn't know what had made her not kill him. If she had truly attempted it, he would have been dead. It would have been only too easy. That day when she snuck into his room and attempted to stab him and set him on fire, she could have had the job done then. It would have been as simple as throwing the curtains to the side. And then she could have burnt the whole house down, and killed everyone inside. But, for whatever reason, she hadn't.
Two things happened at once, causing her to pull back away from him slowly. Apparently at some point during the kiss, her fangs had lengthened, and had nicked his tongue. She tasted blood, and she would have been unable to resist licking the blood away, but then she felt something... You could tell a lot about how a person felt when kissing them, and she felt a hesitation, and she had a feeling it had nothing to do with their kiss. So, she pulled back, her moss green eyes staring at him curiously. He was holding something back from her, information. She knew it. A thought had occurred to him while she kissed him, and it had made him hesitate.
"You're hiding something from me... I know you are. What is it?" Her eyes were a mix of begging him to answer her truthfully, and steel, holding him in place, waiting patiently on a answer.

It was a good feeling to have her sink into it, still there was a lack in embrace the way he had wanted to embrace her. Perhaps even she him. It was when she pulled away and nicked his tongue with her fang that he had made a noise of ouch and shock. Tasting his own blood in his mouth. Just a speckle. She had done it. Like curling in his lower lip, tasting himself and letting it sort to seal it's self afterward. Letting his bottom lip slide back out to normal measure.
"You're hiding something from me... I know you are. What is it?" She had that look on her face. The look that all women had one their face when they knew something was wrong. When they knew a man was not telling them something. And he hadn't. He had hoped it wouldn't come to this, but there was no going around it.
A breath was given, he had to tell her eventually. Tell her about Inora? No. But he would tell her about Tarus. Finally get the truth out to give her some peace of mind. Make her realize that love had failed her. His love for her had failed her and that he would forever be there for her.
He guided her to sit where she had. Like she had before he pulled her close. Turning his form so that he slid off the bed and somehow managed to slip between her legs while his forearms rested on her lap. His hands wrapped around hers and making sure she was fully listening.
"I want you to listen....and I want you to understand this." He had said it with the most softest and empathetic tone he could possibly muster. After all, he did care about her, even more so now than ever.
"I never killed Tarus." He paused. Letting her features tell her story on how she took that in. "I removed the ring from his finger and put it on someone elses, and when you came here this last time I told my guard to let him go from the dungeon in the old house." It was out. it was out and there was no going back from that.
How she took that news after he rushed it out rather calmly in one sentence. He knew she would hurt from it. Wonder where he was. Attempt to find him? Possibly. But what would she gain from it?
He expected her to push him back. Yell, cry, run away. Something. If he knew Nixie at all she wouldn't just simply stay there. Hurt him? Sure. Hit, punch, stab him with something, anything. But there was one more thing she was missing and he had to get that out before she managed to leave Sevanni for ever. It was an unbearable thing that he didn't want to go through.
Sevanni had once adored Tarus, and he didn't have the strength to kill him. Not himself, nor anyone else to do so. Which was why he was kept in the dungeons. "I'm sorry Phoenix but I had to....I had no choice, it was the only way to get the two of you apart." He added that in. Sure it was the truth. Sevanni was Greedy, and he needed Nixie like never before. Now, he needed her to understand why he was right all along. Why the two of them weren't meant to be.

She knew that something was up, and the way he acted only cemented her suspicions. She allowed him to move her back to her original position, quirking a eyebrow at him when he got down in front of her, his body between her legs, but she allowed it. I want you to listen....and I want you to understand this.
Oh boy. This was going to be bad. Sevanni was too serious, and he even looked... Nervous? She nodded, steeling herself so that she could take whatever he had to say to her. However, absolutely nothing could have prepared her for what he was going to say to her. I never killed Tarus. That one sentence right there sent her world reeling. Was he telling the truth? Or was he really so cruel as to actually get her to realize that she felt these things towards him, and then lie to her like this just to hurt her? But the look on his face held no malice, no sign that he was actually enjoying what he was saying. But if he hadn't killed Tarus, then where was he? Did Sevanni still have him trapped?
I removed the ring from his finger and put it on someone elses, and when you came here this last time I told my guard to let him go from the dungeon in the old house. So, Sevanni had indeed, at the very least, tried to hurt her with the thought of Tarus being dead. Anger shot through her, but, it wasn't towards him. It was towards Tarus, as the last part of his confession reached processed to her. She stood up slowly. She didn't hit him, didn't scream, cry, or anything else. She took a few steps and reached into her shirt, pulling out the golden wedding band that she always wore around her neck. Even when she had met Damien and realized he was the mate to her wolf, she had never taken it off. She took it off now.
She held it there in her hand, the delicate silver chain looped inside the band. Her moss green eyes had turned into hard, green diamond facets. I'm sorry Phoenix but I had to....I had no choice, it was the only way to get the two of you apart. She laughed, the sound bitter, cracking slightly with anger and pain, which she simply turned into more anger. "Apparently not the only thing. He could have come here when he was set loose... Apparently, he'd lost interrest." She threw the ring at the window, breaking the glass and watched as the ring sailed across the yard and disappeared. Within the next second, she turned and stormed out of the room, intending to leave the house altogether. She would sleep in a sewer if she had to. She felt liquid running from her eyes and her body shook with the force of her anger and pain, but she refused to pay any attention.

Nixie had stood and Sevanni had pushed his weight back to where she had taken a couple of steps aside. Watching and listening to the painful crackle in her tone as she laughed, or gave a lack thereof. He almost felt like she was going to go into a hysterical haze and found it almost unbearable to watch her.
He stood as she reached her hand into her shirt and pulled something out. Eyes loomed over the metal that she had tossed through the air after speaking words of hurt and truth mixed into her reality "Apparently not the only thing. He could have come here when he was set loose... Apparently, he'd lost interest." He couldn't have said it any better. And that was what he wanted her to take note on. He never came.
She turned and headed toward the door, moving through the frame and moving through the hall already. Sevanni following and shouting down the stairs as she reached the bottom. "He didn't come back for you! I would have come back for you!" Hands grasped the rail before she opened the door. His voice had echoed through the empty space and he had trailed so fast behind her that it was nearly impossible for sound and light to catch up to him.
She was hitting the grass of the front lawn when he stepped onto the concrete driveway, his speed catching up to her as he watched her hair bounce and flow free into the night. Happy she hadn't taken her own speed on to bound out of his sights.
When he caught up to her from behind he wrapped his arms around her which had nearly caused her to fall onto her knees but somehow she had managed to collapse that way all on her own. He nuzzled his head in her hair, his mouth near hair covered ears and words fighting to keep her with him.
"Please....don't do this to yourself....." He started, trying hard to keep her close. Wanting her composure to return. "He didn't come for you.....But I will.....I will always come for you.....I will always protect you, and I will always love you...." As he said it he felt his heart almost beat as if someone had used a defibrillator to restore him back to the living. A spark. A shock.
Like a blood tear could roll from his eye and drop onto her lovely blond hair. Feeling her pain that he knew all too well. He would. He meant every word that he said and knew in his dead black heart that eventually she would see the light. Realize the truth. He had been right all along, and that their love was never meant to be.

He didn't come back for you! I would have come back for you! The words reached her ears as she made it to the door, throwing the wooden obstacle aside, out of her way, and ran out of the house. She heard him, yes, but she couldn't deal with that now. Above anyone else, she had allowed herself to trust Tarus. In a way that she had never trusted anyone else in her life. And he had betrayed her.
Some would argue that she had betrayed him when she got with Damien. But that wasn't the case. What was human in her had never stopped loving Tarus, it had been her wolf, who had never had any attraction to her husband, who had accepted the wolf in Damien as her mate. It was like that with wolves, an involuntary reaction. It didn't matter if the humans liked one another or not. There was no saying no to a wolf's mate. It was both a blessing and a curse. For her, it had been a blessing, because it had taken her unmeasurable grief over her husbands 'death' and put it on the back burner. Still there, but not as shattering. And she had gotten a beautiful daughter as a bonus.
She had felt arms wrap around her waist, and she simply crumbled to the floor, sobs raking through her body so violently she was glad that she no longer had the need to breathe, else she would be gasping for air on top of everything else.
Please....don't do this to yourself.....He didn't come for you.....But I will.....I will always come for you.....I will always protect you, and I will always love you.... The words echoed through her mind and she clung to them, the one thing that kept her from shoving Sevanni off her and leaving right that moment... If she left right then, she may end up just walking into the sun. But how could she allow herself to believe what he said? She couldn't. Not then, at least. The wound Tarus had left on her was deep and raw, somehow more painful than when she thought he was dead. At least then she didn't have to know that he'd left her, lost interest in her.
She managed to calm herself down so that her sobs were silent, rather than ripping through her entire body. And the only thing that allowed to her do so was her pride, and knowing that there was a house full of people who would use this against her, should they get the chance.
A tingling ran over her skin, growing warm. She looked up from the ground, her face stained with trails of blood, and looked at the sky, growing lighter and lighter by the second. "The sun..." It was rising and her eyes started to hurt. She didn't care. She could sit out there and let the sun scorch her for all she gave a damn, right at that moment. She had forced herself to become numb, so that she wouldn't have to feel that pain, so that she didn't have to feel anything.

Sevanni felt so horrible for telling her this. In a way it was a relief to get it off his chest, and she had to know. He couldn't still have her accusing him of his death and her unhappiness. The truth had to eventually come out and that's exactly what he gave her. The truth. Maybe she wasn't ready for it, but as a newling he had to make sure that his plans for her wouldn't be spoiled. That he wouldn't show up one day out of nowhere and all along she would believe Sevanni to be an outright liar. Not that he had truly lied, but he had done it to instigate her further. But that was before.
He held her so painfully close and felt her insides burn and ache. He knew it hurt. It would always hurt, and at the moment he was the cause of it in part. Tarus held most of the percentage, but Sevanni had been at fault and he didn't mind taking the blame.
"The sun..." He heard her ever so faintly, as if he were spellbound by her that nothing else had stood out. She was more prone to feeling it because she was so new and things that had been privy to him was far more sensitive to her. His head lifted, looking out onto the horizon where there was barely a glare.
Nixie felt like stone beneath him. As if everything within her had given up and failed completely. He rushed then. Feeling the pressure on. His body moving against her so that he could lift her up from her side and pick her up into his arms. The left under the backs of her knees, the other underneath her upper carriage. One little sprinting lift to better hold her and he had made a brush for the door.
Closing it behind him, noting the presence of Annaliah who had appeared before him. "Close the house down. But wait until the very last minute in case Shaden returns. I don't need him frying out there on me." She nodded and vanished from sight. Probably off to tell Marcus the house was closing and to get him inside. The boys were out in their hut, fully aware of the time, and their little abode would be closed down as well.
Sevanni had taken her back upstairs, only this time he took her to his room. Still the shiver of the rays from outside had stirred his blood a bit. The last time he had been out there that close to sunrise he nearly tore off the whole side of his body.
He laid her down on the left side of his bed. Kneeling beside her and wondering what she was thinking. How she was feeling other than seeing her turn into a solid matter of grounded cement. To hear news like that was something shouldn't have gone through so soon, but it would make her stronger. She would be stronger sooner or later from it all. He just hoped that one day, someday, she would understand why he had done it with all reasonable thought within her.

She laid her head against his shoulder when he picked her up, not really caring one way or another. She had to shut herself down mentally so that she could cope with this new development. She had thought that she had learned how to deal with Tarus' death, had accepted it... and she had. Only to find out that he was never dead. That he had been set free, and then decided to not come to her. He had rejected her. And the fact that, had it not been for him, her life would have been so much simpler, probably made this realization all the worse for her even still. So much piled on top of each other, one realization hitting her directly after the other, over loading her.
She heard Sevanni speaking to someone, but she didn't pay attention to the words or who he was talking to. It didn't matter. This was much how Kat and Caleb had seen her the first few months after she had been tricked into believing that Tarus, the man who she had risked everything in her life for, was dead. And who had made her believe that? None other than the man who carried her like she was something precious to him, something fragile that would break. But, she couldn't find it in herself to be angry with him. In a way, she was grateful to him. If it hadn't been for Sevanni Black, she might have lived a much longer time in a dream world. Well, time to wake up Alice, and join the real world again.
She couldn't tell who's room he had brought her into at first, that was how disoriented she was. She forced herself to focus, forced herself to look around her. She had never been in Sevanni's room, but she knew it was his none the less. His scent permeated the air, soaked into the fabric of the sheet, cover, and pillows, along with everything else. She wiped at her eyes, blood staining her hand, and still the tears fell, though the sobs had stopped.
"I'm alright." It was a lie, but seeing him looking concerned for her, crouched down in front of her and watching her intently, she felt like she had to say something. She was tired, she felt like a thousand pounds was pressing down on her, and the only option to her devastated mind was to sleep this pain away, if only for a few hours. "Can I sleep here?" She was too tired to get up and walk to her room. She didn't think her body could manage it.

"I'm alright." Not the truth he could tell only by her tears and her inner pain. He opened the drawer to the night stand beside that side of the bed, and pulled out a few thick Puffs tissues. Moving them over the under sides of her eyes, letting a few more get plucked from the box so her fingers could be wiped. He had an urge to suck her fingers clean but it was inappropriate at the moment, and he simply let them be.
"Can I sleep here?" A half smile crossed lips as he nodded. "I'd prefer it." Which was why he had brought her here instead of to her own room. She could relax here or in the room between his and Darien's. Sleep the day away. It wasn't as if she could up and walk outof the house. Not when it was on lock down.
Already time had passed and the clutches of metal was drawn down. The house sealing it's self off from entry and sun. That was the main precaution he took to with the houses he purchased. Reformed to be sealed from the sun with metal covers over the windows and doors. Sure, anyone or anything strong enough to break walls of siding or brick could bash through walls, but no one had yet attempted it.
Protection was always taken, especially when he had people to look after. There was a way out underneath the house if anything went wrong. A fire set. Some sort of epic event with the world that would harm them in any way shape or form. He had leaned that through his own makers, and as a previous caretaker, he knew the benefits of it had outweighed the worst.
His hands moved down to remove her footwear. Placing them halfway under the bed to where they peaked out. He took the tissue box out and left it on the night stand for her, closing the drawer and standing.
He would have to inform Annaliah to bring Nixie a change of clothes so she could be more comfortable, and then perhaps he could go down to his study after she fell fast asleep. Unless she wanted him there. "Do you want me to stay with you?" Sometimes people needed to be alone. Sometimes they needed to be with someone. To be held. Comforted. She was by far incredibly unpredictable, and so he had no other choice but to ask.
If he stayed he would either sit idly by and ask Darien to bring him a good read. He trusted Darien's book choices for sure. He would read and wait. He could hold her until those blood tears dried and hold her as she drifted off to Never Neverland.
If he went, he would go review some files on some potential leads. He had avoided the fact that a visitor was coming. Someone Sevanni hadn't seen in centuries. Someone that meant very bad news for him. Sign some forms. Check on the girls. Check on Darien and PsiChi.
He hadn't spent as much time with PsiChi as he had wanted to, but it was time to change that. Get to know him like he should have been for a while. Neglecting his loved ones was not something he wanted to do this time around since his return. And he wasn't about to start now. Hell, he had to make up a night of companionship to Darien, and most likely visit Shaden's wing of the house when he was there.

I'd prefer it. She let out a small sigh, partially from exhaustion--both mental and physical--and partially from relief. She had never needed anyone to comfort her, not in all the long years since her parents had been murdered. There had been very few people who she had allowed herself to open up to, to let her barriers crash down when she was around them... Actually, come to think of it, you could count them on one hand, and they had all done something to earn her unconditional trust... Ali, Kat, Rose, Inora, and Tarus... And this new knowledge about his betrayal to her left her raw and wounded. Vulnerable. Even more so than when she had stumbled across Shaden Grace by accident in the parks in London, just weeks after Sevanni threw a dismembered finger at her with his wedding band on it. That night, she had offered her life to Shaden, had tilted her head to one side and offered for him to finish the job he had started with her parents. No, she was much worse now, felt much more fragile... It had been easier to think he was dead, and to hate Sevanni for it...
Now, she had to rearrange everything she once thought she knew. Had to look at everything around her with new eyes and reevaluate her opinions on some people. And it shocked her to find out that she actually needed someone with her then, when she should have wanted her privacy. And it shocked her even more to realize that she wanted Sevanni to be there with her.
Do you want me to stay with you? She could have laughed at his words. It was as if he had taken the thought straight from her mind and answered her before she could swallow her pride and her initial instincts to ask him aloud. She rolled around to look at him, moving her blond hair out of her face. "Are you sure you can't read my mind?"
She looked down at her clothes and wrinkled her nose slightly. She couldn't stand to sleep in a skirt, and her shirt would get all wrinkled and stretched... She needed to change clothes. She thought about going to her room and getting some clothes, but immediately threw out that idea. She just didn't have the energy to do that right now. She knew that Sevanni would send Annaliah to get her some clothes, but she didn't like the thought of Annaliah or Marcus going through her room, no matter what it was for. They both creeped her out to no end. And she didn't like people going through her things anyway.
A thought occurred to her, and she looked towards his drawers slowly, chewing on her bottom lip gently, thinking about whether or not she would get her head bitten off if she were to ask him if she could wear some of his clothes for the day. She pointed towards the dresser in a way of asking. "Can I? I don't want anyone going through my stuff..." She was very particular about her things, and didn't like anyone touching them. After she got his answer, she stood up slowly and padded over to the dresser, opening the drawers, pulling out a plain white T and a pair of drawstring pants. Without saying a word, she went to the bathroom and closed the door behind her and got dressed. She looked at herself in the mirror and groaned silently. She looked like pure shit. Despite Sev wiping her face off, there was still crimson stains where her tears had fallen. She turned the sink on, cupping the water into her hands and scrubbing her face and fingers clean. When she finally was satisfied, she walked back out and over to Sevanni's bed, pulling the covers back so that she could slide under them and get comfortable.

"Are you sure you can't read my mind?" A sly smirk rose slowly over his lips, he was ready to come out with some snarky remark, but denied it to reach the surface that met between lips and larynx. Turning his head to the side and rising up to stand. Watching her with senses as his back was turned to her as she took to two feet. Moving throughout the room as he pulled out his phone. "Can I? I don't want anyone going through my stuff..."
Lifting eyes up to her as she gestured toward his dresser. Nodding his head generously. She hadn't been anywhere near Cree's box, which was how he wanted to keep it. Watching, listening to her vanish into the bathroom as she grabbed a couple of his pieces to change into. It was all so weird. It felt different.
Sevanni and Phoenix were not meant to be walking around his bedroom like gracious entities. After so much time of the war between them, it was so normal to have her under his grasp and within his radar limits. He wasn't sure if trust laid in their current relationship as maker to fledgling. Eventually she was going to build up and release. It was the way they did it. Ever since the first.
A few buttons pressed here and there. Going blankly through messages as he waded over to the dresser and pulled out a few things for himself. Changing quick in case she had come out, phone tacked between ear and shoulder. The water was running, fresh socks slipped on. The door opening and her form moving through the room in his clothes. He had to admit, she did look rather adorable. Maybe not the word he himself would use, but you get the gist.
Watching her move through fabric and shifting to get comfortable. His thumb hitting the end button to switch the phone off. Letting it sit in the cradle on his night stand after making his way over to the right of the bed. Sitting on the edge and running fingers over his eyes.
Somehow he had managed to wind up with his arm around her. He'd been so tired and slept so little that he wasn't sure of anything that had happened in the past few hours. She had seemingly been sound asleep, he could have been wrong. It took him a half an hour to get out of that bed. Liking the way she felt in his arms. The smell of her hair and skin. The calming sound of her blood flow. So new, and yet, so lucky to have known more than being a mere mortal.
Slipping from the bed, making his way out of the room after looking back on closed lids. He could go into his study and get a little bit of work done. He had hours to rest, she was sound asleep. The entire house was quiet, which made him quiet, and tired, and his head fell to the desk and the lamp light gave way to his image.

GUYS! I changed the "you're" in your subject title to "your". It was irking me, I couldn't look at it anymore, it was making me uncomfortable xD BECAUSE I kept reading, "you are times run out". I was IRKED.
Sorry for the disruption. Carry on!
