Sevanni seemed restless, like he was dreaming. His eye lids flashing back and forth as if his eyes were moving from side to side. She hadn't been planning on doing this when she first came here... No, she was going to be good this time... But that stupid black haired whore of a vampire had pushed her to this. If he hadn't brought her back to this house, everything would have been perfectly fucking fine.
No, she just had to mention Tarus and how Sevanni had killed him. She just had to taunt Nixie about her dead husband, the man who still held her heart, even now. She loved Damien, yes, but it was different with Tarus... More intense. And Emi had found the perfect way to piss Nix off real quick and in a hurry. She had made the comment when Sev wasn't in the room, and it had taken every ounce of her self control to not attack Emiste right there and then.
She wondered, briefly, what he was dreaming about. What would a vampire like Sevanni have going on in his subconscious that would show itself during the times when he must lay down and rest? She wondered if he ever had nightmares about those he'd killed. She doubted it, though. Sevanni wasn't the type to dwell over those he hurt, at least, she didn't think so, anyway. Why would he let himself loose sleep over the past? Perhaps he was dreaming of when times were better for him, when he still held control of the BNC and he had Aubrey at his side.
She pushed those thoughts aside. She had come up here for a purpose, and she wouldn't let herself get distracted from her task. Taking a breath she plunged the dagger down, aiming straight at his temple.
She wasn't sure what happened next, everything happened too quick for her to really comprehend. One second, she was getting ready to kill Sevanni, the next, she was laying on her back, her arms pinned above her head and her legs held down, her moss green eyes staring straight into Sevanni's. He was pissed, that much was more than obvious, and not at all shocking. In two quick movements, he'd taken away both her lighter and the dagger, she heard both of them drop to the floor.
What's wrong with you! Have you lost your fucking mind. Sevanni yelled in her face, all but that last question. Nix growled in frustration, more annoyed than afraid. Damnit, how the fuck did he ALWAYS stay one fucking step ahead of her? Did that talent come with age? Seriously, she had tried on many different occasions to kill him, and just when she thought she had him... He would pull something out of his ass and ruin her plans. So, instead of cowering, she glared at him.
She shifted her body slightly so that she wasn't in such a awkward position, her hands trying to ball into fists, but her when her nails hit skin, it took a second for her to realize that it wasn't her own skin, but his that she was digging into. She tried to maneuver out from under him, but he was too strong, and she wasn't as flexible as she usually was, thanks to her growing belly.
"Don't you fucking cuss at me Sevanni Black! YOU brought this on when you brought that bitch here. Everything would have been FINE, but no, you have to bring someone ELSE in who likes seeing me squirm, possibly more than you do! I am NOT going to sit around while she stares me down like I'm LUNCH. You might have promised not to hurt me, at least for now, but she hasn't, and I won't take the risk of her hurting my baby." She glared at him defiantly, her jaw clenched tightly, her usual stubborn look in place. She meant what she said, even though she was now running out of steam. She didn't know what Sevanni would do to her at this moment, and she really didn't care. For a second, she wondered if this stunt had pushed him too far, past his limit, and if he would go against his word, but she didn't think so... She had seen him more pissed off than this and he had managed to keep his cool, at least enough.
She knew she had missed her chance, and she wouldn't get another one before the baby was born. Just a few more weeks, and her daughter would be born. She had decided that, should something like this happen, and she didn't succeed, that she would give Kat or Damien her daughter. She couldn't have her child growing up around a bunch of vampires... Especially Emiste. No, hell fucking no. And then, when she came back... she would have to pay the price for this, and for running away, and anything else Sevanni could think of to punish her for. She had already come to terms with that.
