Deakon sat in an old dry-rotted chair in a nice house. He'd taken out many humans in this house, there had been a party going on when he entered. None left with their lives. He had asked Kai to met him here. He had something to ask her. He was leaving and she was one of the few he trusted in this city. He wanted her to know that he was leaving. He might not return and she needed to know this. He was entering the frontline, so to speak, of the vamire-human war. Not as a fighter but as a protector of what was good and right and just.

Kai stepped inside the house, she could smell the familiar vampire's scent. Following her nose, Kai made it to where Deakon was sitting, her heels clicking on the floor. Kai approached the younger vampire, a slight frown on her face.
"You asked me to come." Kai said, a slightly worried look on her face. When one of her coven wanted to speak to her in private, Kai had the right to be slightly worried. This particular vampire was one that had been loyal, Kai considered him the closest thing to a friend among her coven that she had. "What is on your mind, Deakon?" Kai asked.

Deakon looked up at the sound of the door being opened. He took a quick whiff of the air to take in the scent of his coven master. As he saw her enter the room he nodded saying "Yes... Yes i did." HE said aloud, it was mostly to himself though to remind him that she was an ally. Once she'd asked her question Deakon spoke, "I'm leaving, and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to come back. With that said I want yo to take this." He pulled out three blades. One was a stiletto, short and thin, another was a buck knife, long and broad, the last was an old katana, medium length and razor sharp. He held them out for her to take them.

Kai's eyes widened and glinted at the sight of the blades. Her lips formed into a delicate smile. Like any normal woman, she had a thing for weapons. Kai took the katana in her hands first, a firey spark in her eyes. Kai ran two fingers down its blade. The cool metal made her shiver, to her metal tasted like blood, it was as much of an addiction as bloodlust was. Kai slid the sword onto the table, and took the daggers into her hands. She examened them, in awe. She had never revieved such beautiful gifts.
Kai looked at Deakon, a true smile lit her face. "You're serious? She asked, slightly disbelieving. "They're amazing. Thank you. Kai set the knives down on the table.
Kai brought herself back down to focus on business. "But...you're leaving." Kai's smile disappeared. "If you don't mind me asking, why? Kai sat in the chair across from Deakon, not needing an invitation.

Deakon took on a somber smile As he saw her expression to his gift. HE slightly nodded to her question. His smile dissappered and changed back to a more buisness-dude look, like Donald Trumps, as she began to speak again. Deakons voice was solem, "I'm needed in the war. I'm going back to the U.S. to take part.I wanted you to know this because, well, right now you're my only friend in a world of enemies." As he finished, he slipped his hand into his front breast pocket and grabbed his cigs, a lighter, and his glasses. He lit his cig and placed his, wire frame, glasses on his face. HE wore a long sleeve button up buttoned all the way up, black slacks, and skate shoes, his new ussual.

Kai spun the iron ring around on the middle finger of her right hand, it was a habit she never wanted to break, and listened to what the vampire had to say. Kai slid one of her daggers out from the top of her thigh-high leather boot and stroked it with her fingers, thinking.
Kai looked back up at Deakon, her silver-blue eyes narrowing slightly and her pupils forming into slits. "I am glad you trusted me with this. What are friends for, I suppose." Kai commented. "Are you saying out want out of the coven? To go to the States without any ties here? Kai had to make sure that she had satisfied her need for information, and she definitely wasn't afraid to ask questions.

Deakon was surprised at the question. WHy would he want out. It was his family now. Deakon shoke his head, "No, thats not what i'm saying. I mean, When... If I come back I still wish to be part of the coven, but before I leave I want your blessing. I mean it wouldn't be right if I just up and left and you had no idea where I'd gone. I've done that once before. I don't want to do it again." He finshed on on that note. And spoke nothing more. Although he still had much on his mind.

Kai tilted her head slightly, she could tell that Deakon still had things on his mind, but so did she. Kai sighed quietly, she was going to be a pest, she hated it, but Deakon had left without telling anyone, and Kai had atleast expected him to tell her before.
"Before we go any further with this conversation, why did you leave?" Kai asked, her voice light, careful incase she touched on a sore subject. Kai bit her lip. "Not to be a pest, or anything- but you understand why I'm asking?

Deakon dropped his gaze. "I went looking for her and I found out something about Diane." He said somberly. "She's dead." He had no idea why he'd told her this but he did. His look then turned to one of distatse. "She lied to me. I found a tumbstone with her name on it. It was over twenty years old." He was sad. Not only because she'd lied to him, but also because the woman he'd fallen in love with was dead as well.

Kai frowned slightly. She slid the dagger back inside its sheath and moved to sit on the coffee table. Kai put a hand on Deakon's shoulder. She didn't know why she was being so kind right now, but Kai knew how complete betrayl felt, especially by someone who is adored.
"It is our lifestyle." Kai remarked, her voice quiet, but honest. "We learn to deal with death, even the death of those we love." Kai bit her lip, trying to find the right words. I'm sorry, but I do not have too many sympathetic words", Deakon knew her well enough to know that Kai was hardly capable of feel compassion anymore. "but shit happens in life.
Kai stood, her heals making her far more taller than she normally was. Kai looked around the room examening things. She looked back at Deakon. "At least you still have enough passion to manipulate it, to make it supply your energy to a fight. Kai smirked slightly. "Such feelings I've never felt since I was only human." Kai laughed, it was a cold, emotionless laugh, one that often went side-by-side with insanity. But in Kai's case, it was only her nature.
Kai turned back to Deakon, a few feet away, locking her hands behind her back. "You still have much more on your mind, don't you?" Kai's eyes narrowed once again. She wanted to get all the cards laid on the table before she gave Deakon her blessing, and let one of her coven go, letting him off the leash, so-to-speak.

Deakon's head still hung. "If the World taught me one thing it's that things are never as they seem. And this is one of those cases. I was told that she was dead while I was gone, and then a week ago I... I saw her. She was stepping out of a store with..." He paused for a moment, "WITH A HUNTER!" He cried out. It had devestated him when he saw it, and every time it replayed in his mind all he could think about was him tearing the two of them apart. "And I killed them Killed them both." he buried his head into his hands and began to sob.

Kai bit her bottom lip when he started to cry, somehow she felt an immediate dislike towards Deakon's deceased woman. If it was one thing that Kai still had not mastered, it was dealing with somone crying, but she would try her best for Deakon. Kai walked over to the younger vampire and crouched down, her boots resisting slightly.
"Deakon." Kai said quietly, her voice soft. She sighed, Kai picked his head up out of his hands with two cold fingers, making him look her in the eyes. "It is a sad thing, but it is our way of life." Kai looked down slightly, taking a split second to figure out her thoughts. "I would know. I have had to kill one I loved before." This information was no longer a weakness to Kai, she no longer felt any emotion towards killing the human, many years ago. She feared falling even further in love with a human, so she had simply eliminated that sure destiny. "You need to learn how to tuck your emotions away, or to use them to benefit your fight. It is what makes us strong, having the ability to manipulate our own thoughts, our own... soul, I suppose." Kai raised an eyebrow. "You understand?"

Deakon listened intently. After her question he nodded and said, "But what you don't understand. Since then I have drank no blood. In fact I didn't even use my teeth to kill them. I, litterally, tore them apart. Limb from limb, muscle from muscle, fiber from fiber." He sobbed. His eyes shut for a momment and the crying stopped. He had no idea what had stopped him. but whatever it was it was enough.

Kai nodded. "It's fury." She said simply. "When it comes down to it we all go back to our basic animal instincts. Unfortunately for most, our kind just happens to be ten times stronger than others. Kai stood, taking out a dagger, tossing it into the air, and catching it again, all in rhythm. "And also unfortunately for humans, the longer we live, the better we adapt to this new predator form, the more dangerous we can be."
Kai caught the dagger, and held it for more than a second longer than before. "I'm worried." Kai commented, she looked over at Deakon. "I'm afraid for our kin, Deakon. I fear that we may just not be the only predators anymore. The humans are getting smarter, they are adapting, or evolving." Kai sighed, closing her eyes for a split second. "I'm scared that maybe the hunters will become the hunted. Scared was a new word to Kai's vocabulary, and she feared that it might not be the only time she would use it. Kai trusted this vampire enough to entrust him with these feelings that she kept under lock and key.

Deakon knew what she ment. He'd seen it to. In fact, he'd dealt with one earlier. HE placed a hand on her shoulder. "I know. I've seen it. That's why I'm leaving. To make sure it doesn't get to out of hand." He stood up and turned, his hand slipped from her shoulder. "I need to leave the suns going to be coming up and i've got to get on that plane before it does. I'll see you if I come back." He began to leave and then remembered something. HE hadn't received her blessing yet. "So do I have you're bless?" He said as he turned back around.
