005. HISTORY OVERVIEW•
Nikolette LaCroix was born in 934 A.D. to Darius LaCroix and Marie Elmer. Darius was the pirate captain of his father’s ship, the Romulus. He took over Marie’s father’s ship, killing everyone but her, who he happened to take a liking to. She became a servant on his ship, despite the superstition of women on a pirate ship being a bad omen. Marie was a strong willed woman, which captured Darius’s eye when he saw her. He wanted her to submit to him and did almost everything to get her submission. A few months after he captured her, she fell in love with him. Together, they conceived a child.
Knowing that a pirate ship was no place for his pregnant lover, Darius bought a house for Marie in a village that he had claimed for his own a few years back. Being the captain, he could not stay, but he promised Marie he would return when the child was born to help her raise it.
Marie lived alone for the duration of her pregnancy, often waiting by the window that looked out at the sea for her lover. When it was time for her to give birth, Darius had come back to port. She had a little girl that they named Nikolette, but the labor had proven to be too great for her and had taken much of her strength and will power that she had during her younger years. Although they weren’t married, Darius insisted that the child take his last name.
Nikolette grew up a happy child for the first five years, her father being present frequently in her life, hiring a woman named Nina to help his weakened former lover take care of Nikolette when he was not around. Marie was happy for her daughter, but Darius had ceased to have an interest for her so she remained heart broken. Nikolette was sad for her mother, but didn’t know why. After Nikolette’s 6th birthday, Darius had gone missing, his own fearsome ship had been ransacked and his crew killed. The news had proven to be too much for Marie who had died a few weeks later.
About a month after the death of her mother, Darius had returned to the village, but he was no longer human. He had become a vampire, but his love for his daughter transcended life and death. Nikolette was too young to understand what had happened to her father and her mother had simply told her that “Daddy is gone.” Darius paid Nina not to raise a chaotic fuss at his return, stating simply that the news of his death that had reached the village was false.
Darius continued to look after his daughter periodically throughout her childhood and Nikolette lived a happy life. Nikolette always questioned her father about why her mother had always been so sad, but he never answered. Nina had been the one to answer, telling her how her father had left Marie heart broken. Unfortunately, one day around her 25th birthday, Nikolette and the hired woman grew ill, getting one of the fatal diseases that Darius had unknowingly carried from one of his travels. The woman died during the fifth night of her illness. Not willing to let his daughter die so young, Darius turned her.
Darius stayed with Nikolette for a few years, teaching her the ways of her new people. Soon, it was time for Darius to go back to his coven. Excited, Nikolette packed her clothes, thinking he was going to take her with him. But, when she awoke the next night, she found her father already gone. Confused, Nikolette searched the town for him, but found his scent leading away from the village.
Nikolette spent the next 500 years looking for her father fervently. After so long not being able to find him, she gave up and started to live for herself, moving from place to place. Inside, she always hoped to find him and ask why he left her.
Yo', my name is Shiare, and I've been the walking dead for 19 years, and I've been grave robbing for 3 years, I dug up lovely Crimson Kiss by means of Darius and adore it.
001. ANYTHING ELSE?• Not really
002. ROLE PLAY SAMPLE•
Her friends took her to a carnival that was happening in a local town. She had the time of her life. Once the carnival was over, she parted ways with her friends. Soon, she noticed she was being followed by a group of men. Walking faster, she reached into a fold of her dress and touched the small knife that her father gave to her. She turned unknowingly into an alley that had no exit. Turning quickly, she tried to make her way out of the alley before the group of men arrived, but they were waiting at the entrance. She gripped the small knife and backed to a wall, searching for a way to leave. One man lunged for her. She slipped past him and he hit the wall. The other men took this chance to jump on her. She used her knife as much as she could, but it was not able to save her against so many. The last thing she remembered was screaming for her life.......
When she woke up, she was lying on a soft mattress in a dark room. Having no idea where she was or how she got there, she tried to sit up, but immediately slid back down because of the pain.
“Stay down.” A quiet male voice warned from the darkness.
“Where am I?” she asked, her eyes finally getting used to the darkness. She saw a figure sitting in the chair by the bed.
“You are safe.” The male said again. Nicolette felt weak and sore, yet she felt an underlying tone of power. Suddenly, all of the memories rushed back, along with a wave of panic. Her breath quickened, thinking that this was one of the men who attacked her.
“Relax. You are in no danger. Not any longer.” He soothed, not allowing his face to be seen.
“The men... so much pain...” she said, growing tired. She felt her eyelids grow heavy.
“Sssshh. You are no longer in pain. Just sleep now. Answers will come when you wake. Sleep.” He replied softly. Nicolette felt herself drift into a nightmarish sleep.
