Basset could smell them, she could feel their presence, but at this point she really didn't care. She knew they were there from the moment she walked into the park, but she had hoped that they would just keep to them selves like good little children. She had nothing against bloodsuckers, only that they tended to smell rather horrible. They also had egos, and depending on how long they had been around, they also are prone to the hatred of all lycans. But she kept neutral when it came to the race as a whole. One couldn't judge a vampire by it's teeth; only by it's eyes. The bloodsucker that was now closest to her was extremely old, he had a smell of cobwebs and dust that pretty much screamed elder. Which endlessly amused her wolf; Vampires and their hierarchy ha!... Sekhmet was a sarcastic creature, but always right. Basset took a drink of her Smirnoff, it was a wonder the bloodsucker hadn't made a scene yet. He was practically boiling with hatred, he reminded her of the racist old folks back in Georgia. She really disliked racists but he was a old vamp, her deserved a chance. After all, if push came to shove Basset would have no problem fighting him off, and hopefully saving the life of the man next to her. She could smell the other, a female, younger than the musky smelling man that was in the tree infornt of her, but not by to much. She was old her self, but hadn't quite developed that refined cobweb scent, of which she was glad. There was only so much of that she could handle at one time. The human next to her drew part of her attention now, but she kept track of the creatures movements. "...then I'd say I'm doing just fine." He was military, she loved military men, they had great manners, especially the ones from the south. "There is always time for bars, but sitting on a bench with an interesting stranger, now that's a rare gift." She smiled, he put his cigarette out, and to her amazement picked up the filter and put it in his pocket. What wonder, he actually cared about nature. She liked this human, the bloodsucker wasn't going to get is hands on him. "The Name's Basset, Basset Phoenix."
The vampire slide down from his perch in the tree and came into the light of the street lamp, "Isn't this quaint." She was disappointed, if Basset was going to fight, she had hoped that the creature would have a more creative way to insight it. Ah, but thats life. The soldier next to her stood up and tried to confront him about his language toward her. His senses kicked in about two seconds later, this was no ordinary bastard."Do sit down, friend." She said as pulled on the humans hand every so slightly. He was very uneasy, but he was doing rather well for his first encounter with a vampire. Basset sat relaxed, looked straight into the bloodsuckers eyes, and took a drink. "Good evening sir, can I help you? She smiled, this was either going to piss him off more or catch him off guard, she was hoping for the latter. She took another swig from her bottle, he had the air of superiority that only came with age, yet she sat defiant. The vampire would have to try a lot harder to get under her fur.

[glow=hotpink,2,300] Nicka watched him dash off, and she sighed. "Must I always be the one who follows?" she wondered out liyd, and jumpde up into the trees. She flew pats a few, and then jumped out of a tall oak tree, landing in the shadows so she wasn't noticed until she stepped into the moonlight beside Daniel. She saw a wolf and a human. The human waas male, and he was very handsome in a rugged-good-looks-army-man way. The female wolf was pretty in a dangerous-I'll-kill-you sexiness type.
Nicka looked at them both, and gave them both a small smile, lowering her head in a greeting. "Goodevening friends." she said lighgtley, and then glanced at Daniel next to her. "Nice evening, isn't it?" she asked, being polite. She didn't know if the wolf had a short temper or not, and din't want to take chances. She also wondered if the human was one of those whom are aware of the immortal types already. Many mortals were introduced to them at an early age.
"My name is Nickoleth Commen. Please, call me Nicka." she didn't offer a hand for her own personal reasons. She wasn't scared of the wolf, but she was cautious around them no matter what. But she did admit, they were very aggresive when it came to a relationship, and Nicka liked that part of them. She glanced at Daniel, then the wolf, then the human, trying to predict what would happen next just by looking at them, but she couldn't tell. [/glow]

This was not right. This was beyond politically incorrect – in fact it was so wrong that if Daniel had the capacity to vomit he probably would. A quiet snarl continued to bubble within the depths of his throat, the frown that etched his countenance so absolute that it twisted it into an irritatingly beautiful chasm of hostility. It was an unusual appearance for this particular beast, but obviously not one that was absolutely impossible. Daniel was not one to anger easily and over silly reason – in his opinion that is. Glancing first from the mutt to the human, his nostrils flared at the arrival of a “fellow” though judging by her behavior there would be no fellowship to be found. Clearly. It was evident just how much animosity was boiling within the immortal, oculus dancing angrily - back and forth between the two. This made no sense. Frankly...it made no sense at all. None. His palms clenched, each and every strand of sinew tense within his well sculpted arms. "Oh so you're a fan of fleas." He snapped in the general direction of the female vampire. He was in no mood, suddenly, to turn the other cheek. Which was odd, because while she had done him no personal damage, the werewolf was obviously tied into the inner circle of the breed which caused enough pain for vampires.
The real problem? The real problem was that Conteo had never had a good experience with the race and therefore he felt he had the right - or didn't need one - to despise each and every fleabag that he came into contact with. It was just by the grace of whatever higher power there was that he had held onto this rage for so long and not become a hunter of the species. Addressing the dog now, he spoke in a tone denoting hatred and sarcasm despite the honey sweet tint of his syllables. "Not unless you plan on finding some frontline or conversing elsewhere." Now that the human, spritely as he was, had spoken Daniel could do nothing but snicker. He was at the very bottom of the food chain in this case - it would have been wise to remain silent but there it was. That pitiful, dark skinned, he-man womanizer speaking to Daniel - a far more complex and powerful creature in a tone with nothing of respect. "It might be wise to speak more carefully in the future." It was spoken in a low, dangerous growl though it appeared the immortal was disinterested in conversing otherwise. he grew silent, glowering at the two before sniffing in disgust at the other vampiric creature. Disgusting. Was all he could think. He turned and maneuvered back in the general direction from whence he came, not at all interesting in disguising his journey.

Another Vampire appeared at his side, female. Her scent was much less hostile, almost friendly. She had no particular bone to pick with lycans, but she was cautious none the less, which Basset could understand. Not many lycans were as neutral about th whole bloodsucker scenario as she was. the Female vampire introduced her self as one Nickoleth Commen. Now that was an old name, Basset smiled, this one had much more manners than the male, although younger. Basset stood up, she was going to shake her hand, but decided against it."Nice to make your acquaintance Ma'am. I am Basset Phoenix. It is indeed a beautiful night, course New Orleans seldom has a bad one when the bars are still open. She winked at Nicka, the male was leaving.
"Now what is with your friend over there? Last time I checked New Orleans wasn't vampire territory, and I have done him no wrong. Why does he act as though I have?" Basset was in a very friendly mood at the moment for some unknown reason. New Orleans often did that to her.
The human was still standing. Poor guy, he was just sitting in a park doing nothing, when she popped in and the vampires came jumping down from the trees. This had to be just a bit over whelming, especially with all the hostility vibrating through the air.

[glow=hotpink,2,300] Nicka looked at Basse and smiled again. "It's nice to meet you, Basset, and please, don't call me me'em. I'm not that old." she chuckled lightley to herself. SHe glanced over at Daniel who had just snapped at her, calling her a wolf lover. She glowered at him. "And, I never said anything like that, Dani-boy. Now, I don't have a problem against the creatures, but you need to be a little nicer to someone who has no intention to harm you." she threw back at him, feeling almost like sure for a moment.
Nicka sighed. "Please forgive him. He's much older than I and has clearly had some bad expeiriences with your kind. I'm sure he means no harm." she glanced over at Daniel again. To ease the tension, she decided to start up conversation. SHe remebered what the wolf had said about New Orleans not being vampire territory and she laughed a little. "New Orleans has been home to many many vampires. That's what it is sometimes famous for." she had a flashback of the movie 'Interveiw with a vampire.'
She looked at the human. "What is your name, dear? I'm sure all of this must be a little surprising to you if you do not know of our world." she then laughed. "Atleast we're not ging to kill you." she glanced at Daniel again. "I hope..." [/glow]

A bit more cautious... Those words echoed in his head for a moment, glancing to the other female who had appearently came out of nowhere. What the hell were these people? Fleabag? Frontline? Werewolf? What in god's name was going on here? It's days like these where he just looked to the sky and sighed, watching the deranged lunatic walk away in disgust.
Sure, he'd heard of people claiming to be vampires, but...actual vampires? No way. He had to know what was going on around him. It was his job. "Ladies...ladies...what in the hell did I miss? Who was he and what in God's name is going on here?" Yeah, he probably wouldn't get any answers, or at least ones he could use. He slid back into that wooden bench, a perplexed look smeared across that olive toned face. A hand grasped his chin, digits scraping over coarse stubbled hairs. A ciggarette was in order, and he withdrew another from his breast pocket. Same hand brought the filter to his lips, then reached for his lighter. Igniting the flame, he took that sweet initial drag, hiding the plastic Bic in his pocket. A content exhale dispensed a cloud of smoke as his oculars peered back and forth to the women in question.

"....that's what it is most famous for." She laughed at that, New Orleans may be famous for blood suckers but lycans were here long before they even thought about this place. "Well then miss Nicka, my I remind your of the old stories of the Native Americans? Before the French came to claim this land, there were lycans roaming these marshes. Long before the vampires walked the streets of the city, we ran through the mud and water that is now pressed beneath it." She didn't mean to sound aggressive, but when people thought of New Orleans, it bothered her when the immediate word that came with it was Vampire. Vampires were most always creatures of the city, were their prey gathered and walked oblivious to the hunters that stalked them in the shadows. Earth forest had mostly been the home of the lycans, for they were often connected through their wolves to her. There were no doubt some that denied their true nature, and for those, they were young and had most likely not accepted who they were.
The human now attracted Bassets attention. he now was completely confused about everything that wasn't "normal", i.e Vampires and Lycans. Nicka then made a comment to the human, one of which she said that she was not going to hurt him.
"Dear sir, let me explain, you have now just entered a world of which a good percent of humans are oblivious to. We are what modern history now calls myths. I am a Lycan, or as some call us, a Werewolf. And she is a Vampire, and yes she does drink blood. There is no need in being afraid nor alarmed. We are not all animals like him" she nodded toward the male vampire.
