She knew as soon as the blood took that he had slipped into her past. She felt a connection with him for that very instant. She must be insane to reveal so much to a mortal, and willingly!
She had done this in the past, as a mortal. After she learned what Janus was, he had offered her the same dark glimpse into her past. She couldn't resist then, just as she knew Julian would not be able to control the temptation. It was truly remarkable how similar they were.
The moment lasted but an instant for her, but she knew it would feel like ages for him. She sat back comfortably beside him and watched his face lighten up and return to this century.
She knew he watched the event that changed her life. Even after all this time, she still found it difficult to understand. It was a horrible feeling, but it paled to the three days that followed. She felt shivers down her spine.
The look of utter pity was splashed across his face. He really did feel for her. Perhaps she should have shared a fonder piece of her pat. Then again, she wanted him to know where she came from. She wanted him to understand.
"Its ok, Julian. I've had a lot of time to accept what happened."
Her thoughts drifted briefly. She stood up as she emerged from her own mind. "I just wanted you to know." she looked back at Julian. "I wanted to give you a sign of good faith. And, I suppose a part of me wanted you to think of me as less a monster."
