Why me?
Danny wandered a little,seeing the park she found a bench.No one was around,not even the crickets wanted to make a sound.Danny had not filled her thirst in a while,and was weakening,but it had happened before.Suddenly out of nowhere,a stray dog began barking and snarling at her.She could easily ignore the dog,but even the dead got annoyed.
She hissed slightly,hopeing to run it off,but it was still there barking.Did it have a death wish?
Just like the dress she wore,why did she choose black?Why not a bright color like blue,or purple.No it always had to be the dark colors.She could remember wearing laced dresses,and pricless jewels often,but now she couldn't touch the things.She had nnot been homes in years,yet it seemed to her a short time.Like the past 373 years had just flown by without her.She didn't know why she cared,she didn't look one year in diffrence.She heard the crickets,they calmed her nerves a little.She let her nails dig intowhat seemed as fragile,ivory skin. |

Mindy was visiting friends here in London and her plane just got here. Walking to the hotel which was just a few blocks away Mindy decided to make a pit stop at the park for a smoke. Her mother criticized her on the smoking habit but Mindy didn't care, she could stop at anytime. It was dark in the park, as Mindy lit the cigarette she walked gingery to the silhouette of the swings, somewhere to sit. She stuffed the lighter in her purse and took a long drag from the cigarette as she swung gently, her legs crossed.
Did she imagine the hiss that erupted in the silence? Mindy twisted around to look behind her. There was a women in black sitting on the park bench. Mindy gets frightened easily so when she heard the dog barking she jumped up and strolled over to the bench. She sat on the far end and started rummaging through her bag looking for a compact mirror to fix her hair. When she did she hastily pulled it into a pony tail. Turning to look at the women she didn't want to be rude and not say anything.
"Nice night," she began. "I'm Mindy by the way."

Whos there?
Her thin nails continued to dig into her skin,when suddenly she heard the beating of a humans heart.She didn't dare turn around,even when the woman greeted her.She tried her best not to open her mouth to wide,"Uhh,yeah,I guess so."She said uncertain.She hadn't spoken to a human in so long,it was almost unanatural.She caught the smell of the cigarette quickly,"Smoking kills."She said quietly and almost humorously.Dennis never found a reason why people smoked,it didn't make them look cool at all.The pounding of her heart in Danny's head conjured her blood lust,but she didn't move.Maybe she could settle on something else later,but it grew a little tougher being she had not had anything for at least a week or more.
Slowly she curved around to face the woman,she seemed fairly young,20 maybe?Most of all she was alone,but she couldn't take a chance.Why did she almost fear humans?It was an oddity in her life,they were prey not predator.Somewhere out there another human was falling victim again,it was a wonder how vampires stayed hidden for so long,but just how long?They were bound to find something on them sooner or later.Though the corpses vampires did sometimes forget,humans often threw the idea,but she knew it was out of fear. |

Mindy nodded in response. Not a very friendly lady that much was obvious. But why did she make that comment on smoking? She couldn't possibly be worried for her health benefit, she didn't even know her! Mindy took another drag, took it out of her mouth, and pointed to it.
"Oh this? Just a bad habit. I tend to smoke when I'm tense," Mindy giggled. She wasn’t a very bubbly girl but she did have a good sense of humor. Mindy noted that there was something odd about the women. Her skin shone in the darkness; she was pale, paler than pale actually. Mindy inched a little closer and felt no body heat emitting from her. Not natural.
"Oh, your very white. Don’t you get any sun?" Mindy asked softly.

Maybe
She thought about some vampires,they looked like they could pass for a human any day,but thats where Danny was different.Maybe it was a lack of blood that had drained her almost completely of color.She turned again to the woman,"Nope."she said remembering the beautiful mornings she had woken up to those beautiful rays.They were dim,but Danny could remember...She suddenly realized she was still talking to a human.She had said at least two sentences,and without giving herself away!Maybe she didn't always have to think humans as food?Yet,how would one react when you find out your friend is a bloodsucker?She signed,so much for that idea. |

Mindy looked away annoyed. Was she anti-social or something? Mindy opened her mouth to comment on this but closed it and thought better, she didn't want to start be rude but she couldn’t say the same the woman. She was hiding something and she obviously didn't want to talk about it. How was Mindy supposed to wrench that clam shell she held tightly closed open? There had to be something. Suddenly a thought struck her. She was so stupid for not realizing this before. The woman was white for god sakes! Weren't there stories about deaths linked to pale people?
She had remembered something about that. On the news about three weeks ago. If the women sitting just a few inches away from her was some murderer then that would not be good at all. A moment of fear swept through her but then passed. Somehow she didn't expect the lady to pin her to the ground with a pocket knife just centimeters away from her throat. She seemed more natural than that. Something told Mindy that she could kill her on the spot very easily...but how? No, the women just didn't fit a murderers description, Mindy was just paranoid like that.
Mindy turned back to her this time with a smile. She would be patient with her, that was the way to go.
"No sunlight huh? Sorry, it's just that I find that a bit... odd. Well, you can't be some monster that melts from the sun or something like that. How come you choose to be so white?" Mindy joked.

My mistake
She felt a slight tention coming from the human,was she beginning to catch on?When she heard the comment on her color,she turned full view to the human.She really didn't have much to give her away except her teeth,which she hid carefully when she spoke.She also got a good look at the human,she looked slightly older than Dennis,well in looks.She smiled slightly,"Honestly,I think I would if I did."she said,humor in her voice.In was partially true,but of course it was more like burn then melt.She was a little to caught up in the joke,she didn't realize she opened her mouth.She clamped her mouth shut,hopeing the woman wasn't paying attention.
It wouldn't be her only close encounter,but it would be worse to have the woman freak out.She was still for a moment,just hoping the woman didn't even know what vampires were. |

Mindy giggled at her response. So she did have a sense of humor, opening up then. Maybe if she kept this going she could actually have a civilized conversation with her. But something about her mouth... now that she had full view of it she realized something wasn't right about her teeth. A puzzled expression came across her as she tried to think why her mouth seemed different.
"It's just that," Mindy paused for a second and furrowed her brow. "Your teeth, don't look...normal. Something about them," Mindy was going to go on but then stopped herself, she sounded crazy. "Oh just listen to me. I probably sound mental! Next thing I'm going to do is say you’re a vampire!" that last sentence just exploded from her mouth, it didn't sound like her own voice. "But that would be impossible," she added to save herself from a life in the nut house.

Times running
She sighed some relief,close one,but she wasn't out of the woods yet.She tried to act casual,"What about my teeth?"She said cautious not to make the same mistake.Her pearl globes watched the woman,somewhere inside her she wanted to scream it out.She knew she would endanger herself though,humans grew smart.Even now it was getting harderto be unoticed.Being she one of the older vampires around she might be a little more experienced,but that didn't change one thing about her."I know i'm wierd,you can say it."she said,one thing that was completely true for so many reasons.
She bit her lower lip,realizing she didn't even know the girls name,"I'm....Danny,might I ask your cursin.....I mean name."she said still having to remember how to talk to human.This was getting a little annoying,and she was seriously thirsty.She would have to leave soon,before blood lust took over.This girl seemed nice,and Dennis didn't want to mess that up.She probably had a great life,it would murder Danny to take that away,but still. |

Mindy looked at Danny quickly realizing she had sparked her interest. When she spoke again Mindy could see her teeth were undoubtedly pointed.
"Oh, well, two look pointed and a little bigger than the rest. Did you always have them like that?" Mindy wondered. "I don't think your weird. I find you interesting, different. Nothing weird about that," and she meant it. She didn't think Danny weird at all, she was fascinating.
Finally catching her name, she knew that Danny must be beginning to warm up to Mindy. She saw that she stopped herself from saying cursing. So much for friendly. Mindy acted like she didn't even say it though she was a little hurt.
"Mindy...remember?" she said kindly. She had told her her name when she first sat down.

She nodded,she must of not caught it before.She shook her head slowly,"No,they have not always been like this."she said letting her ivors show slightly,no use hiding what had already been seen.Mindy didn't seem to consider,or suggest anything about what she was.To Mindy she was just a pale girl with odd features.She found two nails deep in her wrist,but didn't remove them.Mostly from the fact being that since she had not drank,she couldn't sacrifice some of her meal so surfice as normal blood.She had to get away from Mindy,already her eyes wander to the fresh blood through Mindy's neck veins.Dennis jerked away suddenly,"Umm,I have to go....."She said clenching her teeth,hoping with all her strength Mindy wouldn't look at her blood shot eyes.She shouldn't have spoken with Mindy,it was dangerous.Though refusing blood wouldn't kill her,refusing it only lether blood lust be harder to control.She had heard about some that didit for fun to go out on killing sprees.She could hardly call something like fun at all,like a self inflicted drug that made vampires do what they do.If she had gone for a month,she would have lost her senses.
Ooc: I won't sire you,unless you want me too and when,probably want to be sired by a guy lol.Anywhos forget that,do you want to find out Dennis is a vampire?Spice it up a bit? |

OOC: Someone's already asked to bite Mindy. But if you want, Danny can have a human friend for a little while. Julian, the vampire that is going to sire Mindy is going to open her up to vampires. But we could do a post that's supposed to come after that so Mindy can understand vampires better and learn Danny is one. I'm sure she would love to see her hunt.

Taking another short glance at her teeth she supposed Danny didn't want to talk about it. She wouldn’t pursue the subject until Danny felt comfortable with her.
"Oh, well your teeth are amazing anyway. They aren't weird at all," Mindy ended the topic, she would not talk about it unless Danny wanted to. They were her teeth after all.
Then Danny started acting a bit odd. She looked like she was fighting herself from doing something the way she dug her nails into her skin. She didn't look well either.
"Oh, ok. It is late anyway I ought to get going too. I hope I see you again though." Mindy did hope she could see Danny again. She felt like she had to know more about her. She was such an interesting person.

She stopped the struggle,her pearl eyes softened,"Perhaps."She sighed,standing.When it is safe that is.She thought grimly,she would go hunt some animal.She took one last look at Mindy,smiling weakly.She truly wondered if she would see her again.Though odds were were against it she couldn't speak to soon.She began walkng casually down the street,wondering whether to hunt first,or go to the graveyard.
Dennis has left the thread.Ooc: Ugh,no muse on that one
