Phoenix walked into the small two bedroom apartment that she shared with her sister Annie. She hadn't been home in a couple of hours, so she plopped down on the couch and sighed softly. "Annie, I'm home!"

Annie was in her room, music full blast. She was jammin away to Linkin Park like always. She was trying a new outfit she bought at the store today. She loved it. It was a black corset shirt and a small mini skirt. She jumped when she heard her sister. "Nix!!!" She ran into the room and jumped on her, laughing. "God, I missed you. Its so boring her alone."

Phoenix laughed, shaking her head slightly as her sister jumped on her, knocking the breath out of her for a second. She ruffled her younger sisters hair, rolling her eyes slightly. "You know, you really should get out of the house, go have some fun. Get drunk, party, have some fun. Hell meet a guy, you're annoying the hell out of me sitting around here all day. I can never have a moments peace." Even though she tried to sound annoyed and exasperated, she couldnt' help but smile. Annie was the only one who Phoenix could really relax around and become the carefree pup she really was. With everyone else she had to be tough, but around Annie, she could just be her.

"Oh Nix." She giggled. "You know you would miss me too much and ACTUALLY I did go out today. I went shopping." She got off Nix and showed her her new outfit. "Ain't it cute? The cashier asked for my number but I said no. He wasn't my type." She giggled again. She knew her sister would just roll her eyes. Annie never has a type. She goes from guy to guy like toilet paper. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed two cokes, handing one to Nix. "So, how were your travels?" She flopped on the couch next to Nix and sipped on her coke.

At the news that her sister had actually gotten out of the house today, Phoenix freigned a heartattack, her eyes going wide at the news, her hand over her chest and her mouth opened exageratedly. She looked over the outfit and nodded, it was really cute. She was about to ask if her sister had met any good looking guys while she was out, but then her sister informed her of the cashier, and she rolled her eyes--as her sister expected--and threw her head back against the couch.
"Annie, no one is your type, honey. Their either too tall, short, fat, too musculiar, too old, or soemthing along those lines. What was wrong with this guy? Was his eyes too close together?!" She asked, throwing her hands up in the air. "Seriously honey, you really need to get a guy. You're going to end up one of them old betties who's completely insane, all the kids are afraid of, and has 20 cats...And then when you shift into your natural form, you'll eat them all. So then you'll just be a crazy old lady who can't even keep cats to stay with her!" She reached up and shook her sisters shoulders playfully. "I refuse to have a crazy old bettie as a little sister!!!" She said, grinning.

Annie laughed as her sister shook her. "He had the scent of a vampire." Her smile faded. She sat back down and sighed. "It's not like I don't want a guy...I just haven't found the right one." She sipped her coke and looked over at Nix. "Everywhere I go, I smell them, Nix. Those damn bloodsuckers. I hate it!"

Phoenix sighed and opened her coke, taking a long drink from it before looking back at her sister, trying to keep the shadows that were always lurking there when vampires came up in their conversation away. "I do too. This place reeks of them. Every where we go, there's always the smell of vampires around. But the wolf pack is going to make it's move really soon. And maybe, when we finally begin this battle, I'll see the three who killed mom and dad... And then I'll take the revenge that we deserve. I know they're here, it's just a matter of finding them." Phoenix had recently joined the wolf pack here who was going to fight the war with the vampires. They hated vampires every bit as much as she did, and they would help her get her revenge for both her and her sister. "One of the pack members is in big trouble. He fell in love with a vampire, and he was busted for it. The other pack members are not happy about it."

Annie looked at her sister. "I really hope so, Nix. I really do." She laid her head back and closed her eyes. "I want to get revenge too. I'm only a year younger I can fight!" She knew her sister knew but Nix was so protective. She would never let Annie fight but it was worth a try. She growled when she heard what Nix said. "A werewolf in love with a vampire?! What was he thinking?! That bloodsucking demon! He is giving us lycans a bad name." She could feel her eyes glowing yellow and her body try to change. She cloesd her eyes and focused on her breathing. That was one of her many flaws. Whenever she got angry her lycan side came out. She felt her eyes and body go back to normal. She sighed. "I'm sorry, Nix. I just can't handle people like that."

Phoenix sighed, shaking her head as she took another drink of her coke. "I know you're only a year younger than me, but I refuse to let you join this war. If you want to come with me and hunt down a vampire or two, that's fine. But you'll not get into this war. Dad taught us both how to fight, and I've kept you fighting and training, but sweetheart, even with your hatred of vampires, you really don't have a truely mean bone in your body. But if you want to come out with me sometime and hunt down a vampire or two, then okay." She said, smiling slightly. That was the only concession that she could give her sister. The war itself would be too dangerous for Annie. Phoenix wouldn't know what to do if Annie--her only family left--got herself killed in the coming battle.
Pheonix watched as her sister struggled to control her natural form, smiling slightly. "You may not have a mean bone in your body, but your mean temper could fool anyone else. I don't know what he was thinking. He betrayed the whole pack, we're all furious with him, but especially Patrick, our alpha. James was like a son to him, and then he goes and pulls something like this." Phoenix shook her head, just as angry with her sister, but able to control it better.

Annie sighed and leaned against the couch. "Fine. I'll stay but you can't leave me!" She hoped Nix knew what she meant. Nix was her only family. She couldn't bear living life alone. Her sister was the only person she really truly love. She sighed again and sipped her coke.
She closed her eyes and listened to her sisters word, hate bubbling in her even more. "Why would he do such a thing, i mean seriously? What was he thinking?" She drank more of her coke, trying to calm herself. She always hated the topic of vampires.

Nix rolled her eyes exageratedly at her sister, so she would get the point. "Annie, you worry too much about me, you know that? I've been killing paracites since I was 16, and I've become really, really good at it. Half the time now, those bloodsuckers can't even retaliate quick enough to land a blow. I will be fine, I promise. I wouldn't leave my sissy all alone, who would be around to make sure that she didn't live out her life an old spenster woman who never left the house? Someone's gotta be here to kick your butt out of the house." She said, grinning as she reached over to ruffle her sister's hair, an affoctionate habbit she had been doing for a long, long time.
"I don't know what he was thinking. It's even harder for me to understand, because he used to have the same deep hatred of them as we do...And then he goes and gets engaged to one? It doesn't make any sense."

Annie smiled and ruffled her sisters hair. "Your all I got." She got up a grabbed a blanket from her bed. It was late and she was cold. She wrapped it around her and Nix. "I know you've been fighting vampires most of your life and I've always ran but someday, it doesn't have to be now. I want to be a fighter too." She looked at Nix. Even if Nix didn't believe it, she was Annie's rolemodel. And she wanted to be just like her.
"Wait, what?!" Annie stood up, spilling her coke on the floor. "He's engaged?!" She let out a howl and screamed. "What was he thinking? Now there is a war and hes putting MY sister in danger!"

Phoenix sighed, feeling defeated. Her sister was growing up, Phoenix couldn't keep her locked up for much longer. Eventually, she would go out hunting on her own, and could get herself hurt...Phoenix wasn't willing to take that chance. "Annie, I know you want to be a fighter honey, but I just don't want you to grow up bitter like me. I want you to always be my loving little sister, even when we're 90 years old, and can hardly even stand up." Phoenix said, looking at her sister seriously. She was so afraid that her sister was going to become numb and uncaring to the rest of the world like she was. Annie was her life, and to hell with anyone else. Phoenix didn't want Annie to be like that. She wanted her sister to be the sweet, loving, affoctionate person that Nix knew her to be...Not a killer like her.

Annie hugged her sister tight. "I'm growing up, Nix. I won't turn bitter. You kill for revenge. That's all you can think about. I kill, because, I'm hungry." Annie giggled softly. "We are two very different people, Nix." She hugged her tighter. "I promise you though. I won't fight till AFTER this horrible war." She smiled sweetly at Nix.

"You're damned right you won't fight until after the war. I won't let you. And I don't want you going around vampires by yourself if you can help it, especially if there's more than one. If that happens, I want you to run as fast as you can. I'd hate to have to go on a bloodlust killing spree because some leech decided to make a meal out of my sister." She said, grinning widely. Then she looked her sister over with a critical eye before correcting herself. "Maybe you would qualify as more of a snack than anything else." She said, tilting her head to one side as if to get a better view.
