Niara kept dancing swinging her hips around in a circle for fun, she shimmed a little, keeping time with the music. She wasn’t used to this much dancing but it felt good to give her old muscles a good stretch, not that she was out of shape; Vampires couldn’t get out of shape, as far as she knew. She smiled and then took in a deep breath. “Alright I want another water I’ll be right back ladies.” She stopped dancing and headed over to where she was sitting before, which now had a well dressed man next to it. After the bartender had given the guy what he wanted she ordered another water and took a few sips quickly. Glancing over at the new gentleman she studied him carefully. He smelt of beer yet he didn’t seem quite intoxicated. She kept a smile on her face, though it wasn’t hard. This night had been the most eventful one she’s had in a long time.

Heineken wasn't a bad brand. Nigel sipped his oversized mug contently, letting his worries evaporate. He did not need to worry about the ongoing debates concerning oil, guns, and nuclear power until the day after tomorrow.
A young woman - Nigel guessed her to be about twenty-one - sat down next to him, a smile playing on her lips. Nigel ignored her at first, but found that increasingly more difficult to do. After all, she was rather beautiful, and this was one of the rare nights Nigel was not the designated driver... none of his friends were here to make him feel self-conscious, and there was no work to dread in the morning. As if she knew this was one of the uncommon times Nigel was free, she was drinking water, which implied that she did not rely on alcohol (though even as he thought it, Nigel realized how hypocritical his line of thinking was). A little harmless chatting would be safe.
"Hello," he said in a smooth voice, possibly indicative of his time in the courtroom. He held out a hand. "I'm Nigel Hawking."

Bella watched as Niara walked over to the counter and got a water. She kept trying to dance with Ellie. She giggled as she fumbled around and almost tripped over herself. She was blushing badly. "So Ellie how long have you been here?" She smiled at the girl as she danced around her.

As the man next to her introduced himself, Niara just smiled sweetly, “Niara Shi’Hetosa” She took another sip of her water and looked the man over once more. He looked very professional in his business outfit, she wasn’t used to seeing too many businessmen around. She smiled once more then decided to ask, “You from around here?” She kept a smile on her face as she ran her hand through her hair.

Nigel knew he would not be able to pronounce Niara's surname on his first try. "No," replied Nigel. "I'm actually from America, but I work at the Embassy as a legal advisor."
He could not judge Niara's ethnicity, but she certainly blended in with the natives better than Nigel did. "How about yourself?" he asked.

Niara smiled, passed a hand through her long silky hair and kept her emerald eyes locked on his, “I’m from around here.” She smiled, this was her home and she loved it. She passed a hand over her darkened skin and smiled once more, he did look like an American, now that Niara looked the business man over again.
“You work at the Embassy? That must be a very interesting.” She looked away slightly, not wanting to freak Nigel out by her intense stare. She took a sip of her water then returned her gaze in Nigel. She kept both her hands wrapped around her water glass, her elbows resting on the counter as she leaned over it, relaxed. She kept a perfectly straight back, though, which looked uncomfortable, but this was as relaxed as Niara could get in a public setting. Exspecially so close to humans.

"Somewhat," replied Nigel with a shrug. "I work on a variety of issues concerning relations between Egypt and the U.S. Most of what I do is dull legal work that must be done by somebody, but I do get to meet interesting people once in a while. I also like to tour the country. Egypt has a fascinating history and culture."
The young man sipped his beer. "What do you do?" he asked, curious. Niara seemed more... professional than many people Nigel had met. It was not a characteristic Nigel could put a definition to, and perhaps 'professional' was not the correct substitue. Still, something about Niara made Nigel more interested in getting to know her.

“Oh,” It did sound like a boring job, not what she expected, she wouldn’t like dealing with shit office work when she could be outside. “Well, I…” Niara paused for a moment, “Currently I’m not employed. I did a lot of working when I was younger, so I can afford to take a break.” She smiled sweetly. It was the truth, she had worked hard as a young vampire. Niara bit her lip slightly and shifted in her seat, readjusting herself. She took a long sip of her water and swallowed it slowly. Niara was acutely aware of how sweet the guy’s blood smelt and she was trying to keep herself calm.

She seems interested... but she also looks very young, and I don't know how she could possibly have made enough money by now to avoid working. thought Nigel. He had adopted the face he wore in the courtroom - a sort of half-smile that hid any of his emotions. Is she lying? If she is not lying... she's clearly very smart and talented. Why would she lie?
"Could I buy you a drink?" asked Nigel, obeying the customary bar ritual around the world - when the male was unsure how to proceed, offer to purchase the next round of drinks.

[[sorry took me so long!]]
“Sure,” She smiled and took another sip of her water, “You’re lucky, buying drinks for me isn’t that expensive, I tend to stick to water.” A small laugh escaped her lips and she turned her emerald eyes away from his for a moment. Running a hand through her silky black hair she studied Bella across the room, still dancing with charlotte. She snickered at the two and then returned her sweetened gaze back to Nigel. She didn’t know what to say to him, she was just getting used to this being civil to humans thing and it was becoming slightly difficult.

Nigel was brimming with questions, but it would be impolite to pry into a complete stranger's life. He shrugged in response to Niara's comment on her drinking habits. "I'm a bachelor who doesn't need to pay for his housing - the government takes care of that. Money's not an issue for me." Nigel was not trying to brag, and he hoped he hadn't come across as being arrogant or over-confident.
A trio of men entered the establishment. Recognizing them as the recent losers of a legal settlement, Nigel turned his face away. They had good reason to be angry with the U.S. government. "I'm not overly fond of alcohol myself," said Nigel, continuing the conversation, "but once in a while I need a break."
