Zina focused her eyes on the floor, refusing to look at Julian. It was bad enough that his heartbeat was roaring in her ears and the smell of his blood filled her nostrils. If she looked, she might lose all control.
"I won't lie to you." she whispered, not taking her eyes off the floor. "I haven't fed yet this evening. My intent was to grab a meal after meeting you here, but, well, plans changed."
As she spoke, she knew her teeth flashed visibly. She was amazed he hadn't screamed.
"What you see before you is the predator. Though I respect and care for you, every atom in my body wants nothing more than to taste what you have running down your face."
She couldn't help herself and she looked up at him. She shivered again. The vampire in her knew how easy it would be to overcome him and have what it wanted. But that wasn't what she[/b] wanted.
She started moving closer to him very slowly.
"Your life is safe with me, Julian. I promise you that." She whispered, drawing in closer.

Julian could feel his heart in his chest. No doubt it was a direct correlation to the pounding in his brain. He couldn't take his eyes off of her, and then he saw the teeth.
This was real. This was really happening. He tried moving backward but he came against the wall. His head hurt and his limbs were not obeying. Everything in him wanted to run.
"Your life is safe with me..."
He stared into her black eyes and for a moment, felt calm. He couldn't run and even if he could, he was sure she could find him. As she moved closer, he realized that he trusted her for some reason, he didn't know why. He sat motionless as she moved closer still. He felt another trickle down the side of his face. He didn't move to wipe it away. He just stared into her black eyes, waiting.

Zina reached out and ran her hand up his face, collecting the latest drops that had spilled down from the wound. It actually wasn't a bad hit, just a scratch and that scratch was already clotting nicely.
She closed her eyes as she brought her fingers to her lips and felt a fire run through her body. All of her senses screamed out for more. She opened her eyes again and looked down at him. He had a aire of resignation about him. She was amazed and intrigued at his bravery.
She wrapped her arm around him and brought him close to her. The smell of his body was intoxicating and as she neared his neck, the sound of his heart was booming. She drew her lips close to his ear.
"Julian, darling." she whispered between her elongated incisors. "being what I am, I must feed. I will take only what I need and you will be quite alright."
She inhaled deeply to take in his smell.
"I promise you that by morning, you will wake in your own bed."
Her nose grazed his throat and, losing all control, she bit down into the flesh of his neck.

Her breath in his ear sent shivers down his spine. It really was quite sensual, in a very dark and life threatening sort of way. She was so strong, holding him there! He couldn't move, but he didn't want to move. He was entranced. He closed his eyes and tried to listen to her words.
His eyes shot open and he felt a white flash of pain as her teeth sank into his neck. His entire body tensed, furiously fighting the drowning feeling he now experienced. But that was quickly replaced by a euphoria. For a moment, he thought he heard a drum beating. Then he swore he heard another.
He began feeling weak, his eyes blinking slowly until he felt like sleeping. Each breath was becoming a little more difficult. He swore he heard one drum slow down. He was so tired.
And then, as quickly as it had begun, he felt her withdraw from his neck. His eyes shot open again and he inhaled quickly. He saw her face, it was beautiful, and he smiled as he closed his eyes to rest. Just a little rest...

Oh the ectasy! She could feel her body coming alive, feel the fresh blood course through her veins. She welcomed the flood of his life into hers. For this moment, she was locked to him in a dance. There was no other way for a vampire to be as close to mortal than when holding them in this deadly embrace. She started feeling lost in the emotion but pulled back. No, she couldn't give in. This one was precious to her.
She felt the tug of his heart as it slowed slightly. With all of her restraint she pulled away, throwing her head back and closing her eyes to fight the swoon.
She looked down in time to see him smile and nod off.
"Yes, rest darling. You have been most generous this evening." She drew her hand gently down the side of his face. "Rest, darling." she whispered again.
His heart was beating slowly but steadily. She had stopped in time, he would live. She didn't want to think about breaking her promise, though she did note that she would have no one to apologize to had she overindulged.
"Lets get you home." She lifted him easily, throwing one of his arms around her shoulder. If anyone asked, she would explain that he had passed out drunk. Coupled with some gentle mind tricks, it would look as though she was getting her wasted boyfriend home. That was one thing to say about New York, no one really ever questioned things that were out of the ordinary.
She moved past the front desk and the undergrad working laughed at the drunk professor. He explained to Zina that he had him last semester and always thought it would be fun to go out drinking with Professor Abderoth.
Zina smiled to the young coed as she pushed through the front doors onto the street.
