Morgan walked into a much less dustier room. Brian looked up at Morgan from a half eaten ham, lettuce, pickle, and mustard sandwich he'd bought at the market, he'd bought a few and had already gone through most of them. The living room looked alot better than it had when they had come here, it was alot less dusty, Brian had dusted when he had gotten back, after a few hours his allergies had started to act up real bad and so he dusted........alot. He'd done alot of other stuff too. He'd taken a nice little walk around the city to see if he could find his grandmother's house, he ended up getting lost a little bit and had to ask for directions. Eventually he'd found his way back here and started eating some of the sandwiches he'd gotten and gorged on more than half of them. "Hey, how'd you sleep?"

"Alright..."
She lied easily, looking around the room pleased. It looked like a real house in here now, not a playground for dustbunnies. As she looked back at him she grinned.
"Thanks for fixing the place up. Hope you didn't spend all day cleaning though?"
She eyed the sandwich he was holding with something like nostalgia, then grabbed one of the table and started eating it. It didn't turn to ash in her mouth, which was nice, and it tasted great. Sometimes she forgot that she could still eat human food, it was nothing to blood and it didn't ease her hunger. Really it was just a time waster, but sometimes it was nice. She pulled up a chair and sat next to him, chewing happily.

"Not all day.....I told you...I have alergies..... and they started acting up and I couldn't take it anymore. Just spent about 30 minutes dusting." Brian took a huge bite out of his sandwich and swallowed without chewing much and raised an eyebrow when Morgan took a bite out of a sandwich. That just broke about every myth, movie and book I have ever seen and read about. "Vampires eat real food, that's surprising....." Brian took another huge chunk out of the sandwich and swallowed this time without chewing at all. "So.....what's it like being vampire...... just a little curious, if it's not too intruding."

"Real food... well yeah, we still have mouths and it still tastes good. It just doesn't do anything. I mostly don't bother."
She took another bite of the sandwich, looking surprisingly human. One of her hands went up to move her long hair from her face and flicked it over her shoulder.
"What's it like being a vampire? How's that for a loaded question..."
She paused for a second and finished her sandwich, staring at something on the opposite wall. What could she tell him? Try to explain her whole life in twenty words or less. Her ink-dark eyes went cool and distant, she listened to the sounds of the night. Tree's moved and brushed each other gently, in the house's tangle yard there were mice making their tiny animal noises.
"Honestly it's pretty damn good. Everything's a trade-off... I can see so well now, and I don't mean like 20/20 vision, I mean like new colours. I mean really really beautiful, amazing stuff. You should have seen me when I was first turned, it was like an acid trip. My sire had to basically drag me down the street...
But I live in the dark all the time. And I kill people."
She said the last part coldly, turning ink-black eyes on him again. Suddenly all the apparent humanity was gone, and she looked predatory. A pale monster folding tensely into an antique armchair. It was important that he understand that, that she wasn't a good person. That it wasn't romantic or beautiful, what she was.

"That must suck most of the time...." Brian took another huge bite out of his sandwich and swallowed it this time after chewing it a little more than usual, he didn't want to choke. Brian laughed at the thought of Morgan being dragged around while dazed like a person on acid. "Yeah, I can imagine how that could distract someone and make them go a litle loopy." Brian had enhanced vision, but nothing she had described, things were just sharper and he could see alot farther too. He was actually glad he didn't have that kinda vision sorta....he'd probably be dead within a minute by thinking water looked pretty or something.

"A bit, but mostly the insanity for us comes from boredom. I'm not old enough for that yet... but.."
She shook her head, smiling a little. This conversation was getting a bit strange, she'd never talked about these things with anyone, not even with Ruban really. She hadn't wanted him to think that she'd totally forgiven him for turning her.
"Well how about being a werewolf? What's that like?"

"Well, let me think, I'll tell you what it's been like for the past 3 days, that's all I know about being one. So far, it's hell, as I've already told you, but if I hadn't killed people already it might have been a little bit cooler. I thought I was going nuts when I started hearing people talking from a bit farther away and seing stuff alot farther but I just thought it was a bug or something. But I was turned out of just bad luck, on my part, that werewolf that bit me ran off after my Dad came with his gun after my friends got him." Brian didn't like to talk about his past, any of it, but he felt since Morgan had answered his question he'd answer hers.

"I'm really sorry about that."
She said, and meant it. Her dark eyes on him turned sad. That surprised her a little, human death was basically meaningless to her now. But Brian had obviously been hurt by what he'd done. She didn't want to touch him again though, although as a mortal she might have hugged him. Her skin was cold again. It would only make things worse.
"So you can't go back to your family? The other boy knew it was you and not a wolf?"

"No, it's okay, I heard it's good to talk about bad experiences, helps people get past them easier and quicker, and trust me, they know it was me, they got a pretty good look at me." Brian smiled and finished the last bit of his sandwich. "Maybe if I hadn't killed Jacob I might have been able to go back, but I don't think they want a werewolf around killing people every full moon, and I probably would have ran away eventually, people might have stormed my house to try and kill me or something if they learned what I was." Surprisingly, Brian didn't sound that sad, that made himself mad and he frowned, of course he knew that being sad would just cause himself to get more depressed but he still knew it was wrong not to feel sad. "I mean, there's a small possibility that everybody thought Shane was insane talking about me turning into a big wolf, but even if I went back then people would know......sometime's, I really hate myself"

Morgan hesitated, she thought saw that weird emotion in him. Feeling guilty about not feeling guilty. She'd felt that a lot as a young vampire after her first kills. Probably it was different though, she thought. He was still human in a way. Maybe he had the proper emotions.
"No point in beating yourself up over it, you were insane at the time. In court that would get you manslaughter at least... so you haven't changed since then? Maybe you'd like being a wolf, werewolves can do some very cool stuff in wolf form."
She leaned back, smiling slightly. Admittedly she was curious. She wanted to see what Brian looked like as a wolf, and whether a werewolf looked different from a regular wolf, and what the change looked like...

"I'm not worried about what would happen in a courtroom, I'm just wondering if I would get to the courtroom. You said alot of humans don't know about werewolves and vampires, so what do you think they'll do if they find out they exist...test. That's what I'd do, find out how it works. It's weaknesses, how it ticks. Mad scientist kind of stuff. And trust me, they would do it to. Now I see why all of us creatures stay hidden, if we showed our faces there are three possibilities of what will happen." Brian's words were going very fast like a typewriter, he was just saying this of the top of his head but it was a little hard for even him to understand what he was saying. Finally he slowed down a bit. "One, an all out war between humans, vampires, and werewolves. Two, they would accept us, not likely, because humans like to freak out. Or three, they freak out and run away and abduct alot of us and at least try to use us as test subjects.....and I doubt I'd like being a wolf at this point, I'd rather not kill anyone else anytime soon....." He took in a deep breath and laughed. "I think I got a little carried away there."

"Chill Brian, I just meant that the human system would consider you morally inculpable, so you shouldn't feel too bad about it. Not that you should go to court..."
She laughed shortly. Grinning out his outburst. He was a smart kid, and he'd clearly done a lot of thinking and worrying in the last few days. Luckily, the chances of humans just 'finding out' were slim... because they technically already knew. They just refused to believe in weres, vampires and the rest.
"and you'd be in control if you changed now. It's not a full moon. I keep forgetting that the wolf who bit you just ditched without any information. Here's what I know about werewolves- They have to change on the full moon and become animal-like and vicious, but they can change on any other night between dusk and dawn and remain mentally human. You can run faster than a normal, and you should be stronger. Much more energy and stamina than a human, too. You already know about the increased senses, and I suspect you have a better sense of smell than me but judging by your response probably worse vision. You can live off human food but some of you go in for live prey, human or otherwise. And, you should hate vampires."
She looked at him, eyes glowing.
"You might need to work on that last one."

"Yeah, but humans experiment with what they fear, take nuclear weapons for example.....no-one likes them, at least no one with something to do does, and alot of people are afraid of them, but they still have them to use. What about viruses, alot can kill them, and yet they still mess around with them for biological warfare and to figure out how to top them. If I waltzed up to a courtroom and told them I was a werewolf, they would lock me up and throw away the key and do experiments on me until I die. I've studied all kinds of stuff about history. Think about it, don't you think humanity would freak out if they found out and accepted that what they consider monsters are real? It would be a world-wide pandemic!" Brian was getting carried away again, he never meant to, but man, he was starting to think a little too far ahead. He kinda liked the idea to be able to turn into a wolf basically whenever he needed to but he was still uneasy about it. He finally shut up after thinking a second and laughed again. "You gotta understand where I'm coming from, alot of humans tend to destroy what they fear, whether it might mean them harm or not, and why should I hate vampires?" He seemed genuinely confused. "I mean, I see no reason to hate someone just because most of their race kills mine, some of them don't, I can only find good enough reason to hate the ones that kill other werewolves."

"That's a good stance to take. Very sane. Problem is, not so many of us are sane like you, wolf boy."
Her expression hardened, she thought about the vampires she'd known. Some of the things she'd seen would drive a mortal insane, and every time she killed someone she was confronted with the things a mortal could imagine in the dark places of their mind. It disturbed her. She knew that on some level humans were no better than the monstrous races, but they kept their fantasies to themselves. They had some kind of impulse control. She admired that.
Morgan sighed, looking at Brian in a motherly kind of way. This was going to be a hard world for him to live in. He had morals.
"I need to go feed and find my sire, but let me show you where the vampire haunts are around here. You can't stay indoors after dusk forever and I'd rather you knew what you were doing."

"I can believe alot of people aren't as sane as me, problem is, just how sane am I?" Brian laughed, it was a lame joke, but he found it funny. "I think a little field trip would be nice, I need to get outside before I go insane from worry. It'd be nice to get some fresh air too, the air's a little thick in here." Brian sat up and stretched, he'd been sitting in the same position for a few hours and his legs had fallen asleep. As he stood up his legs' circulation started returning and he looked outside, it was pretty dark, perfect time to go out anyway, just like he used to. "Well, I'm a pretty fast learner so hopefully it won't take long for me to catch on."
