Colbie hadn't been in New Orleans in a long while. The last time she had nearly been mugged, she would have been if it hadn't been for Amarant, a kind stranger who had scared off the muggers and retrieved her purse. In thanks Colbie insisted that Amarant came to dinner with her. Colbie hadn't thought about it much while she had been in NYC working in a book store. So much had changed since then. Colbie gazed up, the moon was out, full and bright, she hadn't been a vampire long but she missed looking up and seeing the sun.
Colbie walked through the crowd with confidence, she had a wallet in the inside pocket of her beaten up brown leather jacket not wanting a repeat of the last time she'd been here. This time though she was here for the culture and a seminar on the supernatural instead of business.
Colbie hadn't been paying attention to where she was going as she was staring at the stars; she bumped into someone, she turned and quickly said 'sorry' but the word never fully left her mouth before her mind overwrote it with "holy crap! Amarant, is that you?"

Amarant stared at the girl who had bumped into her, shocked. She hadn't seen Colby in a long time, and she had forgotten to give the girl her number. Amarant's long black hair fell slightly in her face, covering one green eye.
"Oh my God, Colbie? How are you? I haven't seen you in forever." As she went to give her a hug, she noticed something: Colbie smelled different...Smelled of Vampire. I stared at her for a long moment, shocked. I grabbed a hold of her arm, gently pulling her out of the crowd and into a more secluded place so they could talk.
“When did it happen?” Amarant asked, knowing that Colbie would know what she was talking about. Colbie didn’t know that Amarant was a werewolf, for Amarant had seen no reason to tell her before…After all, why frighten a human with such knowledge?
Though it was a full moon outside, Amarant had control over her Shifts, and she wasn’t at the mercy of the moon like most of the others of her kind. Though it was uncomfortable to ignore the Shift…She’d been heading towards the woods so she could let go and Shift in the woods, so that she could hunt and run freely.
Amarant also didn’t have the same aversion to vampires as most other werewolves did… In fact, she’d been raised by a vampire, so she got along with them rather well.

At first Colbie didn't have the slightest idea of what Amarant was talking about, but thats when her senses started kicking in something was different than most people she encountered. Amarant wasn't human, that Colbie knew for sure. "I'm good, how about you?" She questioned before Amarant asked her another question.
Colbie shugged vaguely, while she thought about it. "Not very long, less than a month," she guessed. She had fed before she had gotten here but she wasn't going to inform Amarant of what she had fed on, she had a feeling the woman might not approve. Colbie knew Amarant wasn't human but she didn't really think she was a vampire either. She was still new at the entire 'some supernatural things actually are REAL' thing, a difficult concept that she was coping well with.
Since Colbie couldn't figure it out she asked bluntly, "what are you?"

Amarant was now glad that she didn't have the same aversion to vampires as the rest of her kind did. She could see herself being good friends with Colbie, if things were to work out that way. "So, Colbie, what brings you back into New Orleans? Have you gotten mugged recently?" She asked, trying to joke around, trying to get over the fact that she was now an immortal.
Her answer was just as blunt, since she had been born this way, she was never turned, she had no problems with it. "A werewolf...Your kind generally hunts us down and kills us.... Do i have to worry about you hunting me down now?" She asked, laughing slightly. She didn't think that that would be the case, and in anyways, she was far stronger than any newly turned Vampire.

Colbie grinned, and opened her coat poking the wallet through the inside pocket, "nope its all tucked away safe. Besides, humans seem to avoid me a bit now... though it might just be the pink hair." Her hair was naturally brown and curly, it was nice and she liked it like that but the bold pink streaks put a equally large smile on her face.
Colbie shook her head at the second question, "hunting for sport has never been my thing." Colbie didn't see any reason for vampires to hunt down werewolves, she didn't understand it and therfore would not take part in it. Though hunting of humans was a different matter, to Colbie they were her food source, though she tried to make sure that they were all round bad people before taking them out. She lived in New York, how could she survive off animals, besides humans were as convienent to her as fast food was to humans.
(sorry but I have to run, got to get ready for work -.-) I'll probably respond after my shift. )

Amarant laughed, shaking her head. "Well, at least you came prepared this time. I don't know what I would have done if I would have had to save your butt from a thug a second time." She looked around, shaking her head. Her transformation would have to wait. She didn't think that she would have had any problem with Colbie, but she had to ask that question just incase.
"Are you in any hurry? Because if not, then it is my turn to return the favor...Though I don't think that youre that much into solid foods these days, huh?" She said, laughing slightly. "So that puts us at a dilemma as to how I'm going to repay you for taking me out to eat the last time we saw eachother." Amarant was never one to let other people do things for her, and lettting Colbie take her to dinner never set well with her for some reason.
"How's New York, anyway?" She asked, looking around the city that has been her semi-private home for the last two and a half years...She moved around a lot, she wasnt really all that content with staying in one place for very long... It was almost time for her to move again anyway, she was growing tired of New Orleans... The woods were convenient, but the people and places were beginning to annoy her.

"No i'm in no hurry," Colbie responded, "solids aren't exsactly as apealing as they once were."
Colbie looked at Amarant, she couldn't see much difference from the last time she had seen her. Colbie assumed Amarant had always been a werewolf, or at least for as long as she had known her. She wondered if it should bother her, but she had always been geneticly deficiant for what you were supose to do.
"New York is great, I mean it's huge, there are so many different people, and different cultures, though really I don't get out much since... well the whole sunlight thing kind of puts a damper on going out."
