A Peaceful Walk In The Rain

The clouds covered the moon hidding it from the vampiress as walked along down the road. She stared up at the sky just waiting for it to rain. She loved the rain.
Her white dress almost touched the ground and it blew in front of her as the wind picked up its speed. Her blond hair was down and fell across her bare shoulders. Her icy blue eyes were bright as the rain finally fell from the black sky.
She smiled, something she didn't do very often.

Her name was Juliet, she was an older vampire, and someone you didn't want to mess with. Though she really didn't like to fight.
She would if given a good reason or there was no way around it.

Some would say she was arrogant but that was untrue, she simply held a lot of knowledge.

A this moment she was feeling restless and needed someone to talk to. And that was something that seemed to be happening a lot. She had no idea as to why this was happening to her.
After all she had spent many centuries on her own. She had even gone into hidding for a while and she didn't talk or see anyone for many years, she had no problem about being alone then. So why now?

The rain started to come down harder and this only made Juliet smile wider.

Maybe she needed to find someone....
She shook her head no that thought was foolish. No one could be with her. She was too...bull headed. She new what she wanted(Most of the time)and she would give up just about anything to get it. Could anyone really be with someone like that?
Of course not. Well at least no one she had ever met so far.

A girl by name of Hotaru wondered the streets of Paris. She was a young human model... Well at least until recently. She lost her job not to long ago. Hotaru was only 17 years old, and yet... She has pretty much given up on life. Walking through the rainy streets her black T-shirt and jeans wear soaked. Though she didn't seem to care. Hotaru had the look of suicide in her eyes. She stopped at the edge of the street. She would walk in front of the next car that would pass. At least until she spotted a girl across the street.

Hotaru stopped and gazed upon this girl. The was something different about her. Hotaru had a feeling of loneliness and sorrow for so long. But she never even new her parents. Nor did she even have a family. As she gazed upon this girl across the street, she felt that they had some thing in common. But even so. Hotaru wanted everything to end. She never found answers to her past. and had nothing to live for.

"Only in a world so cold. Only in a world this cold..." She whispered to her self. Then took a step into the street, as a car fast approached.

Juliet looked away from the sky as she felt someone else near by, though not of her own kin. She looked across the street at the young girl. She was about to look away again when the girl stepped out into the street.
Juliet looked down the road and saw the car, and at once she understood what this human was trying to do.
She realized thee car would never be able to see the girl and had to think fast what to do.
It would be easy to save her but should she?
She nodded to herself and rain across the street, her feet hardly touching the ground. She pushed the girl back out of the road and watched the car drive by only a second later.

Then she turned to face the girl "Are you really so foolish to just end your life like that?" Her voice was slightly louder then normal and had an edge to it that could have been anger.
She didn't think the girl would answer the question, in fact Juliet was more worried what her reaction would be to how fast she ran across the street or the fact that the girl was still alive after she so clearly wanted to die.

It was interesting to Juliet how humans could just so simply end their lives like that.
She hardly remembered her life so it was hard for her to understand what could cause them to do that.

Hotaru was startled when she found her self alive before this girl who seemed angered with her. "I knew it... Your not like the others are you...?" Hotaru wasn't aware of vampires living among humans. But at the same time she kind of knew, do to how she lost her parents.

Hotaru look away in a almost arrogant way. If she made eye contact the the girl that stood before her would have seen her sorrow. "Tell me... Why does it matter if I live or die? Why would you care? As far as I can see..." Tears had begun to roll down her cheeks as sorrow filled her voice. "The world would be better off with out me..."

Hotaru pretty much just broke down crying with her face buried in her hands. She was hoping no one would have stopped her. But maybe it was better that she was saved. At least now she might have another chance to find answers. To her pain filled past.

Though she was still slightly angered with this girl she did smile sweetly but didn't show her teeth. Juliet could tell she was startled just like Juliet had thought she would be "You know?" She asked softly and then she smiled a little wider "No I'm not like the others. I'm not human."

Juliets bright icy eyes grew softer when this girl asked her why it matred if she died. Sure she could think of a good reason. So she could be a vampires meal someday. But that, was most likely not the best answer right now.
Why did she care...that was a good question and it shocked Juliet that she really didn't know why she cared.
"I care because i've made the choice to care. Because maybe i'm a bit envious that your human and i'm not. I didn't ask for this life but maybe I could make something good out of it by helping out others. Even humans like yourself."
Seeing her tears Juliet brought the girl closer to her so that she had her head on her chest as she whispered to her that everything was going to be okay.

Juliet wasn't real sure what to do now. She thought it was most likely that she would have to turn her. I mean there was no way she could leave this girl on her own now was there? She sighed lightly, and looked up at the sky. She could leave her on her own again but wouldn't she just try to kill herself again?
Then another thought slowly came into her mind. Juliet could kill her.....
No that was just stupid. She wouldn't have just saved her to kill her.
No she would have to think of something else.

Hotaru didn't completely understand when she said she wasn't human. But at that time she really didn't need to. Hotaru actually had a bad feeling being so close to this girl. It was almost like facing death. except scarier knowing that this girl wasn't human. Hotaru's tears soon faded into the night.

"So I was right. You really do exist." Hotaru's voice was suttle and calm now. "...Vampires...?"

Though Hotaru knew she was probably in danger, she didn't seem to care. Hotaru didn't try to move away or show any signs of resistance. If this girl truly was a vampire then there was no escape any ways.

Hotaru may have seemed calm on the out side. But really. Hotaru was terrified. She didn't quite understand why though. I mean she did just try to kill her self. Why would it matter if a vampire killed her? Being soaked wet from the rain, Hotaru's body started to tremble slightly. Then she looked up to the inhuman girl, and though she tried to hide it there was still a glimpse of fear in her eyes.

Juliet didn't answer, at least not at first, instead when she felt the girl tremble, she picked her up and ran through the rain to her house. Once inside she set the girl down on the couch, not caeing if the girl was soaked.
She went and got a blanket and put it by her so she could use it if she wanted to. Then Juliet went and sat down by a chair close to the door.
She sighed "Yes I am a vampire." She said softly, not wanting to scare the girl anymore thn she was. She didn't like the fear in her eyes, no matter how hard she tried to hid it, it was there. Plus being a vampire she could also feel it in the air around her. "Why haven't you tried to run yet? Is it because you know theres no chance for you to get away ot beacuse you don't care if I kill you?" She realized that might be a bit heartful but at this point she didn't really care. Why should she? This was only a human. But..it was a human that in same way was just like herself. Alone.
"My name is Juliet by the way." Her french accent was a little more clear now that was talking softly.

Hotaru reached over and grabbed the blanket. She wrapped it around her self tightly to warm her self up. While Hotaru was sitting there she never took her eyes off Juliet. "Hotaru... Thats what people call me..." Her voice was small and quiet, like it really didn't matter to her. Hotaru was silent for a little while, about five to ten minutes. The she looked down to the floor.

"Why? Why should I run? Your a vampire... So if you want to kill me I wouldn't be able to get away... Not that my life matters anyway..." Her voice was depressing and still quiet. Despite what she said. Hotaru didn't really believe that Juliet would kill her.

"Its good you don't try to run for if you did, I wouldn't be able to stop myself from killing you." She was smiling but her words were seruse as she spoke to her. Hotaru's voice was still depressing and Juliet sighed "Why do you want to die Hotaru? Theres so much to live for."

She stayed staring at her, watching her breathing and any movements she made. It was weird for her to have a human in her house. At least a human that was alive.

Juliet felt a slight burning feeling at the back of her throat. She was getting thirsty again. That wasn't really a good thing with Hotaru here. She ran a hand through her hair, pushing some of it out of her face. If you looked just right you could see a tint of red in her icy blue eyes.
She looked away, trying to hid her eyes from Hotaru so she couldn't see that.

"All I have to live for, is to seek answers in the past. I have no family, and those who once cared for me are gone. It's not like I have a future anyways." Hotaru noticed something odd about Juliet. When Juliet looked away she could tell she was hiding something. Hotaru didn't think that she could have something to hide. But surely enough she found out. Hotaru saw her eyes as she looked away. Hotaru thought to her self, "when a vampires eyes glow red that means..."

Hotaru had lost the feeling of fear for a second. But when she put the pieces together. It was back. But Hotaru didn't care as much. It was only human nature to fear vampires. Hotaru ran her fingers through her hair and moved her long black hair to the side. She looked up to Juliet.

"If blood is what you need... No one's stopping you..."

Juliet still didn't look at her but she did nod, shwoing that she was listening and that she understood how she felt. "What kind of answers do you seek to find?" She asked after awhile. She glanced over at her but then quickly put her eyes back to the wood floor.
For a moment the fear seemed to leave the air but then it was back just as fast.

With her last comment she finally looked up at her "I don't want to kill you. You and I have something in common. Where both alone. And so because of that i'm not sure if I can leave you after this. I cant just send you back out there to that world." She sighed and took a deep breath, "I could turn you, but only if you want me to. I'm giving you a choice. Something that I didn't get." Hotaru had moved her hair and so now Juliet had a clear veiw of her throat. She looked away again when she realized she was stareing at it. It was a good thing she had a lot of resistance other wise Hotaru could very well be dead right now.

"I seek the truth behind my parents. Who they were before they died. And why they died. And to find the reasons for my existence today..." Hotaru spoke softly and quietly with her small voice. After hearing Juliet's offer to turn her. Hotaru became silent. She had no idea what to do. But she knew that is she gave Juliet her blood then she would being doing good right?

Hotaru set the blanket beside her self. The she stood and walked over to Juliet. Hotaru bent down and looked straight into Juliet's eyes. "You would give me a choice? When you know I want death? I have no choice... Whether I live or die, it's up to you." Her voice was temping and almost seductive. She really didn't care what would happen to her. So Hotaru tempted Juliet. "Go ahead. Take my blood. Kill me, or turn me. The choice is yours." While she said that Hotaru and a soft and gentle smile, like an Innocent little girl.

Juliet said nothing as Hotaru became silent, she all ready knew what she must be thinking. What Juliet didn't think would happen is for her to sunddenly come over to her and look into her eyes. She had to fight to keep her voice striaght, her resistance couldn't last much longer, not with her this close. And her voice temping, and slightly seductive. Hotaru wasn't playing fair.

Juliet was no longer smiling, however, Hotaru was giving her a smile that could pass for a little girls Innocent smile. She sighed, tried to look away but failed. She stood up. She was no longer trying to hid the bloodlust in her eyes or the longing she felt.
"I can not kill you, so... I"ll turn you." Was it the right choice? She thought so, it seemed to be the best one. "You'll have to drink some of my blood in return." She added after a moment.

In one swift motion, she was holding Hotaru by the waist with one hand and playing with her hair with the other "It will hurt you know. Sometimes humans can go insane with the pain of getting turned." She was almost hoping Hotaru would try to pull away. But if she did, would Juliet let her go. Most likely not, then again maybe she would.

Hotaru was a little shocked. But after a minute she just smiled. "The pain can't be worse then that of what I've lived through." Hotaru relaxed her body and leaned against Juliet. She was thinking that maybe what she was doing wasn't right. But then again she had nothing left to live for. Other then for this girl Juliet.

Hotaru closed her eyes and spoke in a nervous and small voice. "Please be gentle with me..."

Juliet sighed as she finally gave up any hope of Hotaru stopping this. Keeping her arm around her waist, she moved her shirt out of the way a little. She looked into Hotaru eyes one last time, remebering how they looked before she was to be a vampire. Then she lowered her head to her throat, kissed it gentlely, "I'll try to make this as painless as I can." She whispered before her fangs sunk into her skin. The blood came fast into her mouth but she wasn't paying much attention to the tast, more trying to not take too much. 'Not her. Not this girl' She kept thinking to herself She said this over and over.
Her arm grew tighter around her waist, as she fought with herself. With her thirst.
Finally the blood flow slowed down and Juliet pulled away, looking back into Hotaru's pale face. She brought her own wrist up to her mought and cut it with her teeth, then held it up to Hotaru's mouth "Drink it" was all she said, in truth it was all she could say. Juliet could find no other words to say.
She was about to dam* another soul to...
The thought wouldn't even finish its self in her head. But this had to be done, she told herself. It was the only way.
